Hey Everyone! I've been absent from the forums for far too long and with only a month away from opening day, I thought we should get together a roll call list.
Post here the weekends you're planning on attending and where you'd like to meet up!
Get your garb ready and count down the days until...GARF 2009!!!
I'm hoping to attend opening day...still waiting to hear if the hubby is available, for I really want to meet the M'Cracks! Not sure what other weekends...but I'd love to make it for Scots and Kilts (May 16-17) and Pirate Invasion (May 30-31). Also, closing day.
lets try this again
I'm getting to go twice this year yeaaaaaaa
April 18th i will be there with my best friend
May 2nd i shall be there with several of my friends and guy i'm interested in
as for where to meet I'm open to any suggestions
I will be there on opening day 4/18. I would say either outside of the gate 1/2 hour before opening, or inside the gate up to 1/2 hour after opening, or lastly at 2pm at the main pub on the first trail down toward the inside of the faire.
I'll be there opening day, about three or so friends in tow. :D I may be the only one of them in garb. I'll be there two other weekends, but I'm not yet sure what they are (I'm meeting friends and they aren't sure what days they are coming).
I'll meet wherever the majority want to meet.
alright where outside the gate?
I'm hoping to be there on May 3.
That is hard to say. The area is rather large and there are a lot of people hanging around waiting to get in. Maybe off to the side with a big R/F sign that can be discarded after a bit.
I offer this:
Three rally points, most based off of "time on" station. The longer the folks are there, the more likely they head for food. The bridge is a "controlled" choke point where you can't miss folks who go through there. The entry point is for 1st arrivers.

Deus vult!
Since Warrior Monk's helm will be the highest point outside the gate, let's just rally around him. ;)
As I've mentioned in a few other threads here, myself, M'Lord, our wee charges and in-laws will be present opening day. Just M'Lord and I will return on Sunday. ;D

Funny! ;) :P ;D A Chaplain on post donated a 14' guideon/lance pole, which will be flying a Beausant pennant on opening day. I hope it's windy! ;D 200+ lbs frame wrapped in blessed Templar white will serve as an adequate rally point if need be........ :P

Yes, great King, I will be there. Currently I will be returning the week before from training folks in Mississippi on some "
force protection" issues. ;)

I'm going May 9th...I'd LOVE to meet anyone from the forums!!
I'll be there opening weekend with a crowd of approx. 8-10 all in garb ready for fun weekend. It will be all of our first time at GaRenn. Looking forward to meeting more from the forum, we met a few people at the alabama faire in october and really can't wait for the faire to start.
Will be there on 18th and perhapse 19th! Would love to meet up with people and finally put actual faces to screen names :) Let me know where to meet up.
I and my Lady Lisa will be in for Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend.
I am SOOOO looking forward to our visit.
Welcome to Raibeart and his Lady Lisa! Memorial day weekend is always a great weekend to attend. Enjoy yourselves!

I'll be there (working) April 18/19, May 16/17, May 30/31, and June 6/7. Maybe more. :) I'll try to make it up to the gate at opening each day so hopefully I'll get to see everyone!
Epona, where will you be working, if you don't mind me asking...maybe those in attendance can make their way to you!
As of now, Falcone and I are planning two forays to GARF...
the first will be the M'Crack invasion weekend... April 18
the second will be on Memorial Day weekend.
Now Count don't go gettin' us all excited that ya'll will be a joining us then leaves us hi and dry! ;) We shall look forward to your visit.

I'm working at Sabersmith. We're kinda back behind the Pirate Ship next to the haunted house thing. It'd be great if everyone came by! Can't wait for GARF. :) See you in a couple weeks!
Mwahahahahaha!! I have corrupted yet another grouping of people!! Hehehe, several old friends of mine are coming opening weekend! And, my friend's wife is coming, it's her first visit! HEHEHE... I helped her pick out some garb today.. ;) The guys are going to wear kilts!! Mwahahahaha... More people corrupted into the faire way of life!! :D
Update: I, my Lady Lisa, my son, and our two best friends will be in for Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
I AM STOKED!!!!!
These last two weeks need to go faster............ I'm ready for GARF to be here. Has a rally point been established for opening morning?
hey don't rush my sixflags saturday away

I think somewhere around the front gate. The warrior monk should be easy to spot.
11 days and about 6 or 7 hours to departure...
I really ought to start thinking about booking a hotel
anyone else going from FL??
Lady Di, myself and our two lads will be in attendence both days openning weekend.
Hey Count -
We will be at Days Inn - Union City, if you would care to join us.
I shall have to look into that, Peddlin'
I still don't know who else is coming!!!
I won't make opening weekend due to another commitment, but I do hope to be there Memorial Day Weekend. Am sure both will be a great time!
I am still working on making it next weekend...
Memorial Day Weekend is a LOCK
but this coming weekend, I have some challenges to overcome in order to pull it off...

DON'T MAKE ME COME AND DRAG YOU BACK TO FAIRBURN.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rofl that is funny black duke guess i better not tell him this might be my next to last ren season
OK, here are some of the current issues causing a problem:
1. I still don't have a vehicle. My car needs a new engine and I have not found a suitable replacement yet. This wouldn't be AS big a deal as it is... but there's also number 2...
2. No one else seems to be going, so it's all me. I'm not sure I'm up to driving that far yet. I'm still having some complications from the DVT and one of them is a tendency to just zone out... sitting that long will be a bear.
3. I still have yet to book a hotel... and I'm sure that won't be too too much of a problem, but considering I still have to go buy a vehicle tomorrow... well, I'm just not entirely sure if they'll be enough left in the coffers.
I very, very, very much want to be there and am doing everything I can to get past all of this... but so far, it's slow going and there's only a week to resolve it.
Ok, so for anyone who might know me from the previous board (I went by a really obscure title that no one could pronounce), I will be working back at the main pub this year (YEAH!!!) M'Lady Dracolich, I look forward to seeing you. If a rallying point has not yet been finalized, I respectfully request that any and all RF'ers swing by and ask for me by name. I'd be glad to brighten your day with a bit of chat, and a taste of mead.
Hi Jer, we shall look foward to seeing you in the coming weekend for Lady D's Natal Day Celebration as well as the Clan M'Crack family gathering!
and thank-you for giving us an eaasyyyyy name to make request of your presence!
Lady M
OK, I have hip-hip-huzzah news... and, well, not so good news.
First, the hip, hip stuff...
I bought myself a Durango. Yeah, I'm pretty psyched, I love the thing... spent way too much... don't even care.
With my credit after the split-up, I was gonna pay too much no matter what I bought... so I am happy to say that I bought something I am very pleased with... that way, if I'm gonna be in debt, at least it's for something I enjoy.
So, the not-so-good...
well, I spent a lot... a good deal more than I intended to... and that's going to make a foray to GARF this coming weekend completely impossible.
I'll be there Memorial Day Weekend but there's absolutely no way I can swing making the trip next weekend.
I'll miss you all, but I figure it was between getting a vehicle and getting to GARF and I think I made the right decision. See you all Memorial Day Weekend!
Summer Fairy and myself will be there on the 25th and 26th.
We can't wait, ;D we both have some new costumes.
*cough* *cough* ahem... 'garb' ...*cough*

Horse-hocky, mule fritters, and buffalo chips
What do you need to get there.
Tickets can be gotten,
Gas, I can put something toward that.
Accomodations let's talk.
THERE IS NO WAY SIRRAH(SMILE ;D ;D ;D) THAT I WILL TOLERATE THIS.
DON'T MAKE ME COME AND GET YOU. THE RIDE BACK HAVING TO LISTEN TO MY WIFE WOULD BE MOST UNPLEASANT.
So glad you're back at the Brewer's Pub, Jer!
Look forward to seeing you, however...I will not be able to partake in the mead this faire season...as I just found out I'm pregnant!!! :)

OK, well, here's what we're up against...
It's a long drive and I can't handle making such a long drive yet on my own... due to the medications. If someone else were going from here, we could split it up and make it do-able. Let me see if there's anything I can do about that.
However, I'd still not have the cash for gas or tickets or lodging because I just put every dime I had on the car.

Yes, blessings to you Susannah! Congratulations!
We are all very excited to be making the trip to GARF this weekend. Our plan is to arrive on Saturday before the gates of Fairburn open....however, marshalling 4 adults and 2 preschoolers will be the challenge! ;) I will be accompanied by M'Lord, 2 young squires and in-laws (not in garb). I expect a fair amount of time will be spent either at the "Kids Kingdom" or walking between there and the pub! ;) Please don't hesitate to say hello and introduce yourself if I don't beat you to it! If you see wee identical twin berserker Celts in kilts.....look for me closeby :) I am delighted to have the opportunity to meet and spend time with R/F friends.
Sunday just M'Lord and I will be returning for a more relaxed and adult (me) oriented day. ;D
Safe travels to everyone!

My friend even if the minor items were gotten past, I will accept the part about accompanyment. I would not have you risk your life in this manner. there are to many worthwhile things to hazard ones life upon, a beautiful woman, a fine sword, even a good single malt, but not this. so if that is the reason then I shall accept it and try to get my other hald to agree to come up for the day on memorial day weekend, even though the fires of hell and georgia will be burning(well more reason to sit in the pub and drink ale)f
I'm loving the idea of us sitting at the Pub...

For those of you there this weekend! Make sure to catch Joni Minstrel...it's her only weekend at faire this year...she's due to have her baby in June!
She and Rosemary (from Three Quarter Ale) will be performing together...should not be missed!!
Oh...I forgot to add...Thank you all for the kind comments! We're very excited!!
Congratulations Susannah!!
Count Adolfo...congrats on the Durango...and isn't it nice to know how much you will be missed!!
Sigh. I'm not going to be there. My mother wouldn't let me go if I didn't have anyone to go with... my best friend bailed on me two days ago.
:(
I hope to see you guys later in the season!
Today was...something else.
Things I learned today:
1. I paid way too much.
2. Never go on opening day ever again!
3. It takes an hour to drive the last single mile on opening day. Yes. An hour. And yes. One mile.
4. Having whiskey does not make awkward things less awkward.
5. Joining in, while not wanting to be a "tag along" is a difficult line to walk.
6. As much as I like my new main gauche, it's too unweildy to wear with everything else.
7. "Those people" that you see in the tight-knit groups aren't as exclusive and aloof as you may have always imagined.
8. Pleasant and just all-around good folks can make a 'blah' day so much better.
9. A very good friend of mine got married today. Today was the first I heard of it. Thanks. Thanks a lot.
10. Insecurities are a royal pain in the patookus.
11. Sitting alone on the benches behind the 'ship' swings and next to the drum place and having a cigarette is still the most comfortable thing for me to do at GARF.
12. This is Purple Unicorn's last year, so I have to "stock up" on some shirts before the end of season. Goodbye money.
13. "'Cause you're still the same (still the same, baby, baby, still the same)"
Whoops. I'm a jerk (surprise, surprise).
I forgot to mention:
It was quite a pleasure to meet all of those that I met today! Sorry I didn't have a chance to bid farewell to all. I hope to see all of you again sooner than later. :)
well I'm sorry I missed the meet and greets we didn't arrive until 11:30 do to the horrid traffic and our breakfast stop next time we are leaving earlier and we are going to get breakfast to go. also now having fantom sword syndrome. I am glad i got to meet some members from the forum I saw Dallen and his wife I think i also saw resting and Coolin M'Crack. I think i passed Warrior Monk but he was busy stuffing his face so i left him alone. I didn't see him after that and if i passed you and didn't say hi sorry i didn't remember all who said they were coming and i can be a bit shy at times.

I fear this was not me, for I didn't "stuff" my face, until 7pm whilst in the company of Blakduke and his Queen at exit 56. We were in a decent sized gathering for most of the day, and Sister Hatchet asked if anyone had seen you. (
We were to look for a blue hat)
We shall be there again today. ;D

Eric, it was great to meet you this weekend! :) Its nice to meet someone who actually gets my more 'cerebral and dry' sense of humor. Not everyone appreciates great sarcasm! Hope to see you around again this season!
I must apologize Lady Dracolich, for we did make an encounter with you as well.
Eric, not sure if I passed by you a numerous occasions, if you are of the tall sort.... :)
Saturday was a great day at Faire. Thanks to an unexpected phone call, I had to head back to Fla this morning, but I had a lot of fun meeting many of you. I hope to see some of you when I am back Memorial Day weekend.
Special thanks to M'Cracks who made it especially fun.

LadyD,
It was great meeting you as well! It's always cool to meet someone who has a sense of humor that isn't of the usual sort! :)
As to how you picked me out of the crowd, I've no idea. I mean, we all see each other, mostly, as tiny lil a forum avatars, so I doubt I'd have noticed that you were you, even though I've seen other pics.
When I saw what the crowd was like there I thought there was no way I'd spot or be spotted by anyone.
Warrior_Monk,
I didn't see anyone that looked like you that I recall.
And I'm certainly not tall at only 5'10". :D
Dang. I took a camera, and ya know I didn't use it once the whole damn day?!?
I took two and used some of the first camera ohhh well there is plenty of flim for return trips
Eric i may have passed you yesterday but i didn't say anything because i wasn't sure it was you
Well Lady De Pond, I searched high and low for you and your blue hat on Saturday! I don't know how you could of missed me and my brood! :( Eric and Susannah I regret not making your introductions as well. Next year I can only hope!
Hector, I thank thee for the picture of M'Lord and my young squires! It was a pleasure meeting you and toasting Lady D along with the rest of the notoriously enjoyable M'Cracks! ;) :D
We also had the pleasure of meeting the renown Blakduke and his Queen! Huzzah!
Although I believe Warrior Monk felt it his duty to keep a close eye on the pagans....M'Lord and I enjoyed the company of the Templar and his beautiful wife, Lady LeFay as we strolled the grounds Sunday. Many, many thanks!
I'll be posting pictures once we return to the Carolinas!
FF I think we were completely on different sides of the faire all day
I second that feeling, I know I spoke with some of the M'cracks but I either never saw any one else or completely passed by if I was near without realizing it. I still feel like I missed half of the faire even after two whole days of walking around.. Probably spent to much time picking out boots at Sandlar and talking with Gary and Kit at Crimson Chain, amazing how time and money flys aways around those two booths. It looks like part of my group is planning a return trip either the first or 2nd week of May or who knows maybe both...
i unfortunetly only got to go saturday but i shall be back later this season.
I didn't get to get to see everything i wanted if i wasn't in the show i was dragging my best friend through the garb shops trying to get her ideas for what she was looking for to build her ren persona she finally decided she wants a sword(I've rubbed off yeaaaa)
One can easily miss even Britanny Spears at faire. There was a crew from my mundane place of toil, trials, and tribulation (work, ugh), that was there and I did not see a one of them. However it was great to see my friend and confidant THE WARRIOR MONK and his lovely wife, I enjoyed speaking with Femme Falchion, Eric is not so ugly after all, I was expecting a veritable troll, Lady Dracolich as ever it was good to see you, and all the M'cracks. I hope those of you that stayed for Sunday had a good time.
A great tyme all weekend long! Yesterday the weather held up quite nicely for the chain maille and the company was very enjoyable. ;D
We had a great time. It was a pleasure meeting people. I wish we could have met more. Where does the time go? We walk through the main gate and next thing I know it 6PM. Sunday was a great day. The little bit of rain we got kept the dust and danes away. GARF thank you for your hospitality. Lady Di, the boys and I loved your village. We hope to see you at MDRF this August.
I'm so jealous of everyone!! I'm going on May 9th...and I'd love to meet anyone from the forums!!
Should be around sometime that weekend. I've got to pick up a new custom piece Virgil at Crimson Chain is doing for me. Not sure if it'll just be me or if my better half and friends will becoming as well.
Robin and Green Fairy will be there Saturday all day and Sunday most of the day this weekend.
We depart tonight.
Hope to see everyone there. If I don't recognize you just call for Robin Hood! ;D
I'll be at faire on Saturday!! Finally!!!!! Anyone else??

We will be back in June.
My girlfriend and I will be back this Saturday, gonna go for the day and try to catch up on things we missed opening weekend. How was the turn out this past weekend?
So any one else gonna be around this weekend? We should be there all day Saturday.
i was suposed to be there this weekend but that has fallen through my entire entourage has fallen apart. One has rocky mt. spotted fever(poor thing) one is pregant and nearly on bed rest one isn't going if the prego one can't go one has house payment due and one has class and one is working don't worry I'm picking another date and I'm going back with or without em
BamaWoodsman, I'll be there with my hubby on Saturday!
We'll have to try to catch up. I'd really like to meet more people from the forum but didn't get a chance too opening weekend. Also I got a random call from one of the couples that came opening weekend with us, that has decided to come through Saturday morning just to buy/order Sandlar boots. So we'll have another couple with us for part of the morning. I'm planning to get us up and there before opening cannon Saturday since it will just be the 4 of this time. It was impossible to all 8 of us up and going for the 18 and I had to try to get 11 up for Sunday morning and failed miserably.
I will be volunteering at the Parrots on Saturdays starting the 9th! You guys should come by and see me if you're coming any Saturdays for the rest of faire! :D
fairieimp...i'll be sure to stop by and visit you after the 9th!
BamaWoodsman, i hope we'll make it by cannon...we always intend to but never quite get there in time!!
I'll have my R/F pin on!
I'll be there, garbed, on the 9th, with three other friends in 'danes'. What time is opening cannon??
a little before 1030, i think. :/ i've only been to opening once.
yep 10:30 I've been at opening twice
I had a great time on Saturday! We were safe in the pub while it rained in the afternoon.
For those of you who are visiting in the next couple of weeks...beeboy, a forum member, is working the pickle stand by the joust arena.
Stop by and say hi. He spotted my pin from several yards away and tracked me down!
Also...I saw Jer at the Brewer's pub. Stop by and pay him a visit!
I hope to have my pics posted soon. I'll be there May 16 next for Scots & Kilts weekend!
BamaWoodsman...sorry we never met up. Hope you had a nice time!
Yeah we walked around keeping an eye out but must not have ever passed you. I didn't see anyone with a pin other that whatshisname at Siege the Day. May be the next time we're there we'll catch up with somebody.
has he been there all season i was so close to him opening day i could have hit him and didn't know it
Well, I made it back safe and sound to Milwaukee Monday. Even though I only went on Sunday, I have to say I like the faire a lot. The weather in the 80's was really nice on Sunday I have to say. Love the layout and the people. Getting to meet everyone that I did was a real pleasure, thanks to Mercie. It was also a pleasure meetng the King and Queen. Stage show wise, the horse show was my favorite. I had seen the others elsewhere. The food was good and prices reasonable. I did buy some things to take back with me as well. I have to say it sure went out with a bang though. Just as we were leaving and in the gift shop, the huge down pour and high winds hit, then the tornado warnings. Basically the microburst hit real close making things a little exciting. The police officer that was in there with us closed down the doors until it litened up. We then made a mad dash to the car which wasnt real far away. It was nice that it happened right at the end of faire. So, when I originally left to come down there for the weekend, I thought it was going to be a wash after seeing the forecast, but I ended up having a great time at both GA and Tenn faires. HUZZAH!!! Hope the rest of the run is wonderful for everyone.
On another note, I started working on my pictures last night. I am on the Tennessee ones at the moment and will have my GA ones ready soon. Lots of good shots, so I will post again when they are up for viewing on my website.

Sir Clisto -
It was wonderful to meet you in Tennessee last Saturday, and I will look forward to the next time. :)
I am a new little baby GARFie, having adopted it at my home faire. I'd like to get to know more people here!
We are almost always at the Joust.
Cinderella I will be at Garf later this season maybe memorial day
whee.. we are there most weekends! Let me know and we will have to meet, I would like to get to know everyone!
I should be there again this weekend either Saturday or Sunday not sure which yet. Just gotta talk to Gary at Crimson Chain to see if the new piece is ready to pick up. Not sure how long I'll hang around if it is ready but I'll probably be there for at least a little while. Still need to look at a few gifts for the family.

Thanks Fairieimp and Lady Christina de Pond for the answer!!!
I can't wait for Saturday!!!
welcome Tammy
SO far, it's still full-speed-ahead on the plans to be there Memorial Day Weekend...
Most excellent Count. I still plan to be there as I am going up earlier that week anyway. I think GG is still in as well. I will check with those that I see this evening.
I am praying more people go so I can split the drive and make this happen
We will be at GARF for the first time Sat May 15 and possibly Sunday.
Sunday is Maria's birthday. It would mean a lot if you spot us to come over and wish her a happy birthday.
We will be in the same garb in our picture. You can spot Maria easily as she 6'2" tall.
She might wear a long blond wig.

Hi Peddlin,
Thanks...I had replied to your post here last week but now see my reply isn't there. Wonder where it went. Anyway, it was good to meet you as well. I look to coming back one day.
Sir Clisto
with friends or with out friends I will be there that monday of the Memorial day
Sad news indeed, for the Lady, Princess, and I were planning on returning to the Kingdom this Sunday..... :-\
I will most likely be there at some point that weekend. Certainly only one day, (I have a major test to study for) but I have not decided on the day as yet. I was hoping to see some of the members from the Florida area this weekend, but I hear that there may be issues with their trip up.
Lady D (and others):
I think the decisions on everyone from Fla are still coming in. I do know Sap'n and I plan to drive up tomorrow to catch the Braves game and then Faire on Saturday and Sunday. Lookin forward to hopefully see y'all this weekend.
I, regrettably, have to take a pass on GA.
I had made this announcement on Facebook earlier this week but was waiting to do so here in the hopes that something would come up to make it feasible to make the trip after all.
I'm going to miss seeing everyone, but I'm afraid with finances being what they are right now... and with the way things have gone down here for the trip (there was originally a large crowd and finances would be shared) I cannot see how it's plausible to make it.
I'm still tentatively planning on being at John Levique.
If finances don't get better soon, that may be in jeopardy.
GARF is not possible. I'm having to make cuts to guarantee later Faires.
You will be missed Count! If you have a moment each day where you feel like you just had a drink, know that we have toasted you and the others unable to make the trip.

What name do you use for facebook. If it your mundane name, then which of the skaty-eight gabillion ones that are out there are you. that is the problem with a lot people who use facebook, they never put enough info out there to be able to identify or at the very least approximate the one that a person is looking for.
Hector, if I suddenly get a buzz and start slurring my words just as that cop is asking for my license and registration, I'll tell him it's all your fault! LOL!!!
BLAKDUKE, my friend, I really and truly regret not seeing you...
I can be found on Facebook by either searching through the friends lists of others who are mutual friends...
or by searching under my email... which, I believe, you have...
With the deteriorating weather forecasts, we've unfortunately scrubbed plans to be in Georgia this weekend. Just too long a drive and too much outlay to spend all weekend in a lot of rain. That bites.
Myne Pyrate Molden and I have made last minute adjustments to attend GARF in the morro! I type this from a dear friend's home about 1 1/2 hours North of Faire! (She's keeping the younger puppers for me. We co-own one together!)
WOOOHOOOOO we's going to Faire tomorrow!
Lady M!! I'm so excited!! I'll be there today too!
I'll be at the Brewer's Pub (with Jer) for a good bit of the day...and especially if it rains!
It's closing weekend! :(
I'll be there both Saturday and Sunday! :)
Who's with me??
I attended last weekend and it was splendid as always!
I hope though that I can attend closing weekend as well. If so, I shall most likely be there on Sunday.
I'll be there on Saturday : )
Stephanie C.
A small contingent of the Order of the Orange will be there on Sunday. We'll be wandering around but can often be found at Sandlar or Crimson Chain just hanging out. Our group tends to look like a walking advertisement for several leather merchants and Sandlar. This weekend look for the orange and for a guy in leather armor with a celtic epona.
I will be there Saturday and most likely Sunday. 8)
I will be there too! And will most likely have some naked non-rennies in tow! ;) I hope they are ready for some corruption! Mwahahaha.... Admittedly, I'm mostly found at the pub. It's a weakness.
I am sad to say that I wont be attending the last day tomorrow after all. :'(
Seems I have come down with a bad case of the summer flu. Darn my luck! :-[
Well at least there is still next year. I hope you all have fun on the last days of GaRF!
