Finished the Scalzi book, and did enjoy it; I'm actually going to send a copy to a friend who is going through a medical challenge, because I think he'll appreciate it. I just finished How to Stop Time, by Matt Haig, who also wrote The Midnight Library, which was one of the most redemptive stories I've ever read; I was in tears by the end. This one was about a group of people who have a genetic disorder preventing them from aging in the usual way. Tom Hazard was born in 1581, and watched his mother be drowned for being a witch. He never stays in the same place for too long, since people eventually realize he never seems to get any older. He hangs out with Shakespeare, goes on voyages with Capt. Cook, meets Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, and just keeps moving around. There are parts that drag a bit, but overall was an interesting and enjoyable read.
