Are you talking about aiglets? The metal tips on the ends of ties? They're spelled a variety of different ways (aglets, aiglettes, etc). I can't see the ones in your pic very well, but Pillaged Village (http://pillagedvillage.com/zen/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=44_49) carries bolo ties that will work. The only issue is making sure the ones you get are small enough to fit through your eyelets.

I have ordered my Bolo Tips from www.firemountaingems.com (http://www.firemountaingems.com) That's where I order my various sizes of Glass Pearls for garb, other stones, Filigree jewelry findings, etc.

Yes, the metal tips on the end of the ribbon.  So I need eyelets and aiglets?

Look in the western wear kind of things. There is a supplier that is an aweful like Fire Mountain but they cater more towards the western and native american type jewler. The name is Thunder Bird Supply Company www.thinderbirdsupply.com

A wide grommet should let it through easy peasy.

Aglets or gold tips is what they're usually named.

I second the Western suggestion! But many bead and craft sites also carries them, both plain and ornamental.

OK, so I'm a little confused.  Why do I need the grommet?
Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like with the shoulder turned up so I can see how it's put together?  Thanks!

This is what my workshop used.

If you are going to do alot of them.  It might be worth the investment.

You don't necessarily need a grommet or eyelet, but you need something to put the aglet/ribbon through to lace it on. It can be through eyelets inserted into the fabric, or through metal loops sew TO the fabric. I did the latter for the blue Peacock dress. I lace the sleeves through these and tie a nice bow. The bows would be even more pronounced with aglets, but I used such a tiny velvet cord and don't have any need for it.

I get mine on ebay..    search bolo tips  I have always bought from "simplypie".   They come by the dozen and in gold or silver.   Usually pay about $3  bag of 12.
