You know Syrilla we could always use more good noble ladies like you in our nobles guild at VARF for when we start up again next year.
oh, were it only within my power to bring you here to Florida... then we'd have two utterly AMAZING Queens here...
oh, wait, I'm being really, really selfish
naaaah. I'm a Rogue, I'm allowed!
I loved the way you staged your ad! I'm working with the Bay Area Ren Fest kings (Henry VIII and the Holy Roman Emperor) trying to help find them gigs. Good idea to post it here and the way you did! ;D
lordwriothsley, I wish I could afford to to come up and do it with you guys! One day...
Ahhh, Count you are too sweet!
Kathryn.... I don't mind starting a trend. Esp. if I get a job!
Would love for you to come to Texas, as it was great seeing you again at Scarby out of the blue.
Will keep my ears open for any word of things! Good luck!
Do you have any Spanish garb? I could arrange a marriage between you and the Holy Roman Emperor if you wanted to be Isabella. (Yeah, you'd still have to talk to management, but there *is* an available king).
Yes, Of course, I have Spanish garb! :D Now where did I put that accent???
Hi eloquentXI, It was great seeing you there. Thanks
It would be for BARF, so I don't know if that would help you now since it is Jan-early April. Of the other FL faires, they're pretty much all booked up...something I'm having trouble with since my King needs a job, like *now*.
My schedule is open from January to mid-April then June to mid- October.
someone pinch me
*Pinch* Did that help?
If you're available for Texas, you might enquire over at the Sherwood Forest Faire board- it's a new faire, Early Medieval, but they are well organized and definitely looking for real talent.

I am convinced, at least, that I'm not just dreaming...
Thank you Bellevivre.
Syrilla, ther's a posting in our FLARF forums regarding a new faire in Miami.
http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=8207.0
It's being presented by the producers of FLARF and will run three weeks. It would be so awesome if you were to find a gig in Florida!
It doesn't look like they are interested in finding new performers. But thank you for the link and the notice!
Maybe if you listed when you weren't available for the folks it might help to figure out which fairs you could do?? Just a thought.
I personally can testify to the glorious Lady Kimberly's talents at fair. I've seen her perform and she is amazing with the audiences and especially the children. Also, unlike many Kings and Queens, she does not separate herself from her subject for vast amounts of her day, but walks among them and is very available!!
Thank you LadyE! You are so very kind.
I had meant to put that information on there, but my fingers became too excited at the thought of hitting the enter key!

Lady E I will second everything you just said as I to have seen what Lady Kimberly can do at fair as well. I had the pleasure of working with her last year at TNRF on closing weekend (which happened to be rendezvous) and was absolutely amazed at her work in the streets and with the audiences and so forth. Just like you and everybody else I to hope she finds a job soon as well.
Thank you lordwriothsley. It was great fun walking about with you. You did great with keeping the Queen entertained during the stop and go progress! :)
No problem Syrilla. The pleasure was all mine. I do hope to be able to do it again next year if you guys will have me back at TNRF that is.
Thanks everyone for the nibbles. If I cast out more bread will they grow to bites?
Florida! Florida!
There are testaments I could rain down upon my psuedo relative, but I will warrent that there is not enough storage capacity on this server to handle it all. Needless to say that should anyone say things negative(who would do that??) about her, it will take no time to assemble a mighty host of an army and at quick march we would reduce their lands to rubble. I might even have a hard time at my age to be able to stay at the head of the army as there are those that I am sure would vying for the honor.
Ahh, thanks dad!
the following is a subliminal message intended solely for the influencing of Syrilla. If you are not Syrilla, read it at your own risk or you may end up being subjected to attending Faire with ME. Thank you. ;D

I'm (Florida) sure (Florida) that there are (Florida) some Faires (Florida) out there (Florida) that would (Florida) greatly benefit (Florida) from having (Florida) another great and talented (Florida) performer like you (Florida) on their cast (Florida)
Any ideas (Florida) where you might end up? (Florida)

Good Syrilla,
If only I had a faire of my own to sweep you away into it as Queen. The lottery could be the way in, but chances are you will find a gig before I ever won that and bought my own faire. I will keep my eye out though. You certainly can fill the spot, for I know first hand. *smile* As for me, I still have a few other faires to do before my season is finished.
Lord Clisto, Duke of York
Knight of the Holy Blade of York
Count which faire is your home faire...............FlaRF, BARF, or Lady of the Lakes if you don't mind me asking cousin?
OK... lol... that's a loaded question, my friend.
There are actually 22 "Faires" here in Florida, all told... though most are just little pirate festivals or one weekend affairs.
Technically, I'm SUPPOSED to try to make at least an appearance at each of them, though that is very hard to do.
I consider BARF to be my home Faire... it's closest to my house, the cast there have treated me warmly and are wonderful friends... and there's just a certain magical something to it.
I often say "what we lack in size, we more than make up for in character"
Anyone who has been there, I think, will agree.
Thanks for the insight Count. Wow I didn't even know that there were that many faires in Florida to begin with.
Aye, Cousin... NOW you know why I moved to Florida...
but we're still lacking a Syrilla...

I can believe that cousin. Any faire would be lucky to have Syrilla as their queen if you ask me.
oh, we HAVE a wondrous Queen...
but still... mayhaps I am being selfish...
but would love the extra glow that her presence would bring...
And who might your Queen be if you don't mind me asking Cousin?
The amazing...
the talented...
the stupendous...
the wonderful...
the charming...
Madge Estes!
Count you guys are definitely a lucky bunch to have a queen like her Cousin. For I have heard nothing but good things about her and would like to meet her sometime. Also from what I have seen of her in several pictures on here she is quite an attractive woman to if I may say so myself.
She has quite a bit in common with Syrilla... wondrously talented...
and positively radiant!
As long as we have the Holy Roman Empire at our disposal, we have room for another queen at BARF. *hint hint*
thou art implying I share...

Yeah I bet she does Count. If you ask me you guys at BARF would be in for a real treat if you had Syrilla as your queen.
dueling Queens?
LOL!!! That'd require quite a creative storyline...
but I can tell you, I KNOW it'd be a treat to have Syrilla around in ANY capacity!!!

Count Adolpho my good friend
It need not be as creative as you might think. The story line is already there
Think Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scots.
OR
With a french/italian twist
you could do Catherine De Medici and Diane De Poitiers(Henry II of France)
Needless to say either one would be extremely entertaining WOT???????
BLAKDUKE I like how your mind works here my friend cause that would sound like a brilliant story line for BARF if you ask me.
BLAKDUKE struck me as brilliant when first I met him...
and has continued to amaze me from there!!!

AAAWWWWWWWWWWWW Shucks Count Y'all jus sain that cauz it's true.
I had this discussion once with a faire director who shall remain nameless. The faire was going to be without a royal monarch of any kind and I suggested that the faire consider 2 ladies who were already on cast and that they would make a perfect Elisabeth and Mary Queen of Scots. However this individual could not see past Henry VIII as King. His reasoning was "he was the most recognizable". Which I felt was as dumb a reason as could be used. If you look around, with only a few exceptions, most faires do only Henry or Elisabeth. KCRF does a French court scenario, St Louis does Henry II but confuses dates and marriages, GCRF does their own fictitious King, there may be more, I don't know. Now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with any of these folks and I am in no way disparaging them, but it would be nice to see more of a diverse set of characters. For example, the Spanish court of Phillip II, the German court(The Holy Roman Emperor), or the Italian court. Of course diversity can go haywire. There was a faire some time back that billed itself as a Renaissance faire that had King Arthur and his knights and they were battled by Robin Hood. Now come on. And so M'lord lordwriothsley, mention this to the powers to be at BARF and see if they are willing to take up the challenge, it is only a matter of adding one character to the cast.
We also have Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor
We don't have an Italian Court, so to speak, but the good Visconte Vincente, Falcone, Isabella and I do our level best to represent the great Kingdom of Italy...
BLAKDUKE I just might take you up on your offer my friend cause like I said before the idea of dueling queens would make for an awesome storyline for BARF if you ask me.
we'll have to pass it along and see if it's something that may be entertained in the future... I don't see them jumping timeframe just like that.
I thought that their current scenario WAS Q.E. I How does that jump time frame.

no, Sir... Henry VIII and Catherine Parr
That would make one of me twin daughters be the proper age fer Mary, say round 8 years I believe...
Just a quick update, I am still in the market for another festival. A few promo packages have been sent out, and I shall call them after the new year. Thanks to everyone for the good words!

Not being snarky or snide but your right that would have strained the creative juices since none of the six wives were ever in the same place at the same time. I can think of a few interesting one-liners for that group
If i recall correctly it was each queen had a crack at being queen for a weekend. Sort of a try out for the following year as to who would be Queen superior. The one whom did win out, has been queen for a few years now, and does a superb job.
And no, not historical at all, but, Like I said it was very interesting to experience.
sounds it
I'd still like to know, though...
when is Syrilla coming to

You know Syrilla if you were to ask nicely I'm sure you could earn yourself an audition at VARF since they are just around the corner you know (the auditions that is). ;D ;)
Well, still no offers for this year. Sigh. Off to work at Space Camp!
Syrilla,
Not sure if you mentioned this or not, but will you be at Tenn this year? or when you said "no gigs" you meant nothing at all? That would suck. I loved meeting you finally last season.
Lord Clisto
Yes, I have been asked to return to the TNRF! I can not wait to see everyone!
oh, miss katie scarlett and i are looking so forward to seein you again this year when we come to tn, spoke with harold from indiana about being sure to join dinner groups this year, hopefully miss katie could get the opportunity to speak to you up close and personal, so glad that you will be at tn, and congrats on the wings too!
Oh, good. I will be so very happy to see you both. Esp. miss katie scarlett. Due to work scheduals, I will not be out as much. So, when plans are made, make sure to let me know ahead of time. :)
