With 150 days until TRF starts I thought that it was time to start my annual thread...maybe this time I'll keep up with it...LOL!
For those of you that haven't posted on this list before you need to answer these questions three:
1.) What weekend of faire are you attending? (i.e. I and all of clan Mcshuggenah will be out Halloween Weekend only)
2.) How many people are in your group for said weekend? (i.e., There will be about 10 of us)
3.) Where are you staying? (example: Caming w/ McLotofus....staying in a hotel...I'm daytrippin') (i.e., We'll be staying out in the new area on the other side of Row 0)

Will be there on AHE and Highland Fling weekends, as for where I am staying unless things change most likely Homewood Suites in Shenanandoah.
Planning to be there All Hollow's Eve weekend, probably Friday to Sunday, hopefully camping with the McLotofus clan. It will just be me and my SO.
As it stands right now, MacKee and I will be out all but two weekends this year which are 1001 Dreams & Roman.
We will be at the traditional camp area for the Big 3 with McLotofus. Other weekends we will camp close to the traditional area if not available, etc. :)

Clan Procrastination will be camping Opening, Pirates and Closing. We camp on row 0 behind Chaos - Look for the infamous boat deck.
No other weekends are currently planned, though day trips are always a possibility. I'll update this thread as those days become known.
Numbers are still unknown as we are still too far away. I'm hoping for us to be at or near full strength however for opening weekend. I'm still curious to see what that number really is (o:

There are 8 of us confirmed so far. We regimental types usually camp along the treeline, as we tend to prefer things a bit more rustic.
Its early but, so far Dennis and I plan on the big 3 & pirates, camping with PR.
Also tentative plans for 1001 Dreams with the kids, camping with ummm, oh yeah, PR!
Other daytrips/weekend excursions may happen, will know more after the summer.

Looks as if my brother and I will only beable to make Highland Fling this year. Wish I could do more but the money just isn't going to be there.
Well, unfortunately much of the TRF run coincides with wine harvest and crush which means I'll be in Oregon :( but I plan on being there closing weekend at the least and possibly highland fling or barbarian invasion. Not sure on camping plans yet.
Oct 23-24 has been set for hoteling it with head-wench along with brudder and wench-in-law. ;D

1001 Dreams-Depends on the time of the Houston @ Rice game
Pirate Weekend-Plans on camping with East Coast visitors, wives number 2 and 3 along with Wife number 1. Will be my first time camping out with everyone, I'll be bringing the Kraken.
All Hallows Eve-Will be out Saturday during the day
Roman-Wedding in Dallas
Highland-Saturday night is the last Houston home game so I'll probably be out during the day at the very least.
Barbarian-Hey look, another fully open weekend. Baring school issues I should be camping that weekend as well, sans the East Coasters.
Christmas-Friday, likely, but probably going down to Texas Tech to watch the Cougars throw all over them.

TRF is my home faire but I go to Kansas State Uni now so I can barely make it down for just the closing weekend. The other year I had to miss a season because air fair was too much. But, if all goes well, I'll be back for closing weekend again, if only for a day trip, though I've always wanted to camp out.

Undecided. It will likely depend on how close to the action and what not the East Coasters want to be. One will likely want to be in the fire, the other two maybe not as much. Will update with an estimation later.
We will only be attending AHE this year. We decided not to official set up a tent any more. (waiting on the camper) But of course will be out at the campgrounds all weekend.
Haven't logged on in quite some time. Yes, I will still be there every weekend performing with Shunyata four sets a day and probably sitting in with Wine and Alchemy occasionally as well. See you all soon. Now back to the grinding wheel to get the music finished.

Might be lame my part, but Ive no idea which row. Kinda just ended up in a spot the first time I camped and continued to stake that claim the next few time I camped. It is usually just myself, and maybe 1 or 2 additional friends of mine. We usually show up right after opening on Friday.

That would be row 11 - 12...see the ring up near the parking rows...that's the drum circle and it's on those rows.

CapnFaye, if you're flying in and can't bring camping equipment with you then we've got an extra tent if you need it. It's not large (at all), but it's at least a place to sleep. I'm sure we could bring some extra bedding with us, also, and maybe glean a bit more from one or two others who come over-prepared, as well... :D I'll be bringing it along in any case, so it's yours for the borrowing if you want it!

Unless I can find another position out there, we won't be there this year. Frankly, the way I feel right now, probably won't be returning anytime soon.

Okay, after cajoling and offers of help by friends and loved ones, put us down as a maybe for Opening and AHE, depending on what happens between now and then.
My Hubby and I plan to be there opening weekend, incase he has to work, then the following.
I am hoping to go a couple other weekends alone or with my niece.
They will all be day trips. I have yet to convince my hubby to camp out.

We'll be back again for the weekend of Nov 6th and 7th. (My Birthday weekend.) There will be about 20 of us over in the newly cleared area by the fence. Found that area to be quite lovely last year.
This returned-RF-newbie will be camping for the first time on Oktoberfest and probably again for All Hallow's. I'll be lugging enough mead for a small army, offering to anyone with an empty cup that would some. Maybe a spot of rum as well.
I won't know anyone there, though. I'm open to shacking up with a clan/group and contributing my fair share if anyone will have me.
I'll be there every weekend with all 5 kiddos in tow. We're daytripping. Hoping to get one or two weekends kid-free, but not sure which ones yet. SOOOOOOOO excited!! ;D
Many things have transpired since the beginning of summer this year. Because of too many things out of my control I have elected to not attend this year in a Botch capacity. Should I come it will be in regular clothes. Finances, relationship, work as well as opportunites at TRF have shaped my decision.

Me, my trusty Sidekick and Prodigal Daughter & Friend over Thanksgiving Weekend.
We went ahead and bought 2 weekends worth of tickets for the 3 of us (minus the friend) but are not yet certain which weekends. The first few weeks of TRF are hard to do given our work schedules but AHE and in November are probably likely candidates.
We will be camping out at a hotel in the Woodlands, LOL! :)
Yahoo! I just got off the phone with my mom. I go to school in Kansas and sometimes coming home for both Christmas and Thanksgiving is a bit tough. At first they said they couldn't afford a flight for thanksgiving but then I got a nice refund check. As of right now I am booked to come home for the week of thanksgiving which means I shall be at TRF either the Friday or Saturday after thanksgiving ;D

You really won't have to worry about this too much unless you plan on getting there really early. Most of the larger clans have people out very early to claim land and start setting up. I think the right hand side of the map is more open. Most clans are on the left side of the map.
On Barbarian weekend, my massive army of 3 will be around 11 n/m, under the pair of trees. We always get there very early and claim that spot that past few years, since none of the big groups are really over there thus no spaces will be infringed.
There is usually quite a bit of area over there. It is down hill so I guess there is the runoff threat, although even after all the rain that weekend last year we didn't flood out.

Going to try and make every weekend (except Roman, have other plans then). But I am a definite for opening and for opening will be camping with McLotofus.
I'm working at shop #145 and if anyone wants to escort me over to the party camp I'd love to go, I just don't have a extra 20.00 to get a parking pass just to visit. Heck 20.00 is my food budget for the weekend :)

I will also be playing all four sets with Wine and Alchemy. Since Shunyata has the same times, I will only be playing the back half of each set with them. Guess I will also be camping in participants all season this year. See you all soon.

Opening weekend =either camping The whole weekend (myself Antoinette)or Day Tripping Saturday and camping Saturday night when Shawn comes up to join me for Sunday. With PR
1001 Dreams = Day tripping probably Sunday with the children possibly camping with PR that weekend if we have a sitter and Shawn has the weekend off.
AHE = Both Shawn and I will be camping all weekend with MS and or PR.
Highland Fling = Shawn and I will be camping with PR with 2 guest ( Tamisha Rushing and Stuart Baxer)newbies and best friends of mine.
Celtic Chrismas = Day Tripping Saturday if its not too cold for the children.

I'll be there All Hallows Eve! Staying with friends.
Just please keep your fingers crossed that I don't have to deal with snow at home leaving or returning! (Colorado doesn't have white Christmases, we have white Halloweens - often!)

So, it looks like we may be camping Roman weekend and attending faire that saturday. Also, the boy & I will be there on the day after turkey day with various portions of my family. I'm sure my 17 yo niece will be at my side the whole time since I'm the cool aunt who dresses up, totally understands the obsession (I started it), and won't be leaving after 2-3 hours. ;D
My boy has finally decided that he wants a knight outfit and a king outfit. :o So I'm headed to Joanns today for fabric... At least he didn't wait until the week to tell me this! And I still haven't made my new skirt I've been planning for over a year... But the urge has finally struck, I'm sure this beautiful weather has something to do with it!!

I will be there opening weekend with young Sir Joseph, protector of the faeries and all that is magical, and master slayer of horrid peeps. He has taken to slaying candy corn as well, as he believes this to be the favored food of the dreaded peeps!

Lady Robyn's Annual Renaissance Trip
I will be out to the Texas Renaissance Festival on the weekend of 1001 Dreams, camping with Assasian AM, Lady Robyn's bodyguard and best friend.;D
hmmmm think bringing both of my cloaks , three pairs of boots ,multiple belts, several caps is a little much :) I just never know what I might need. I always pack extra stuff, never know when someone might appreciate that extra pair of gloves or a belt.

AHE camping, can't wait!
Clan BS will be rolling in late next Thursday afternoon or early Friday morning for 1001 Dreams. It's only our second time camping and it's been three crazy long years since we last were at TRF. Seems the ladies in our group all drank the same water, as we were all pregnant in 2008 and taking care of wee babes in 2009. But now Clan BS has been resurrected and we are ready to have a fun weekend sans kiddos!!
We are a small little clan of just three couples, so any bigger clans that want to take us under wing...we'd appreciate it!!
We will be going the weekend of the 23rd...Pirates weekend. Will not be camping with Ml or PR, but with
Some close friends. Will try to wander by both camps during the weekend.

If I'm reading the map correctly, The Green Flame camps at about 24I. We have a bright green glowy lantern hanging in the tree, so we're not too difficult to see (heh, that rhymes)
KP-While at faire/camp this weekend I was told by a member of Safe Haven/Armageddon that the group has rejoined and plan to be out as much as possible from now on. As you probably know, they traditionally camp at row 6, next to McLotofus. :)

Well, I've decided to come to TRF on Saturday, and I'll have my camera with me. I definitely want to meet you and your Renlet, and I'll take some pictures of her wearing the Hat with Aiacha's favor. Will you be at the gathering at the POW Pub? What time is that gathering?

I'm looking at the Faire Map that's on the TRF web site, and don't see the location of the POW Pub marked. Can someone describe how to get to it from the Front Gate? Thanks!

In and to the left from the front gate. As you walk down that pathway, POW is on your left. There are picnic tables outside and a patio.
It will be after the sign advertising the King's Feast. It's not marked POW...it's the Prince of Wales Pub, just in case...
It is right beside the Kings Arms Feast Hall. It is on the right as you are walking away from front gate not the left.
From the Front Gate, turn to the left, walk to the first Fairy Wing stand, do a right-face, walk approx. 20 paces, approach barkeep.
And someone else (in another thread) was saying that there actually IS a PRE-parade meet, as well... so now I'm all confused. ::)
Some meet at the POW before the parade to watch the parade from there and talk till everyone shows up after parade. It's more of an extended visit.

In times past though, some people show up before parade and hang out.

We will be staying in a hotel in Tomball. Just too cold to camp with the Dirt Fairy Closing weekend! lol ;) BUT...I will be out at the campgrounds late though and will be hanging out all day on Thanksgiving...so save a spot around the camp fire...and some Loki for me! lol ;)

We normally set up close to the store just because we never get in until Saturday mid-morning. (though im determined to have them awake and ready early this time!)

You are not mistook, you did meet me at Santa Fe, unfortunately this will be the only weekend I can make it to TRF this year. I wanted to come closing weekend but I have to work :P

I concur wholeheartedly! Rapier and the crew are great people :) They've been there for me in a rough patch this year, and made what was starting to turn into a horrible time into a fun time (Warm too! Thanks Katy for the blankie!!! And of course uberthanks to Fraser,Nasty, Rani, and Meggers as well!!). Really..I was miserable until they took me in, fed me some awesome chili, and surrounded me with great company to take my mind off of things :D They are some of the nicest people i've had the honor of knowing and calling Fairemily <3

Well, closing weekend (Saturday) was my return to the TRF after two years! It was great to ber back in garb and see some new rennies from this website. I won't try to recall everyone in case I accidentally forget a name other than to say it was fun to hang out with everyone for a time at the PoW. Zardoz, his wife Shelley and friend Angela were good steady companions for the day.
One concern I had was the parade seemed quite a bit shorter than in previous years. Thankfully, the place was crowded enough to assuage any concerns that TRF has lost its popularity.
We all had such a good time. It's wonderful to go to TRF and have it feel almost like a homecoming.
It was so nice to see everyone, those I only saw this weeeknd and those I've seen for the few weekends I've been out. It's funny how an off-year turned into my best TRF season ever...or at least thus far. :-)

Thank you for a wonderful time, it is now 10 months to TRF, but on the brighter side only 81 days to Sherwood opening see you there.
It definitely was a good TRF season. We had beautiful weather all season long. Now to prepare for Sherwood.

Me and my family had a wonderful time as always. Yesterday was bittersweet, I didnt want to walk out those gates knowing it would be 10 long months before I would see them again.
It was simply... wonderful! It was so hard to leave yesterday, even though I knew that the people and the shops, the music and the magic, were all tucked safely away, waiting for our return next season. Still, it was as hard for me to let go of those final backward glances as it was for my daughter... and we are already counting the minutes until next time. (sigh)
