Title: Ecumenical monks
Post by: mabeherec on November 19, 2018, 10:55:50 PM
Hi, everyone.

I'm new here, and hoping some of you can answer a historical question for me.

I'm writing a history of the Ecumenical Monks of St. Benedict.  They were active at the Texas Renaissance Festival, running a chapel and conducting weddings as well as selling wooden furniture, at least between 1979 and 1984, and probably both before and after those dates.

Does anyone remember this group or, even better, have any pamphlets or publications from that time that talk about them?  I plan to contact the Texas Renaissance Festival (if I can figure out whom to contact there), but I thought I would start here first.

Thanks to anyone who can help me!

Marc

Hello Marc, and welcome to our forum.

I do not have information regarding the Ecumenical Monks, but have you attempted to contact a chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism?  One of the chapters near the TRF area may have some information that may be helpful.  Good luck!
