Title: Globe Theatre Burns Down !!!!
Post by: BubbleWright on June 29, 2009, 07:18:33 PM
The following was posted on the PaRenFaire-dot-Netters Forum by Jim Amor (aka Docamor), who is on cast at PARF...

On this day in 1613, a fire destroyed the Globe Theatre, the main venue for performances of Shakespeare's plays. Constructed in 1599, the theatre was home to the Lord Chamberlain's Men, Shakespeare's acting troupe. The men had used wood from the nearby Burbage Theatre, whose lease had ended, to build a theatre with a capacity of over three thousand. Because the large theatre was exposed to the elements, Lord Chamberlain's Men had also constructed a smaller theatre for use during the cold winter months.

Now that everyone had a coronary, Fling is over and its time to get ready for PARF in 6 weeks or so!
      ...Doc

Needless to say there was quite an uproar. Maybe by opening day Doc might be forgiven.

LOL!!!  :D :D Too funny. Celtic Fling was a blast! We travelled to see out 2 favorites, Empty Hats and the Town Pants. However, while there, found some new favorites too. Is it okay to have so many favorites?
