Title: Ever Wonder?
Post by: *Teach* on November 04, 2009, 06:49:59 PM
Ever wonder what it's like to be a kid in my class?
I spent my day playing with electricity and the kids (Muwahaha)
Before anyone asks, the faces and video are blurry on purpose.
The video is only about 2 minutes that I edited out of 3 class periods, 20 minutes worth of shocking each period.
Yep... I have no stress for a reason. I get to use it up this way!
Wacha think?

*all that and no rum... amazing I survive*

There should be more teachers like you!  Keep the kids interested, entertained, AND they are learning in a way they won't easily forget.

Thank you, Teach, for doing what you do, so well.

You rock Teach. That was awesome. I'll show it to my daughter. She's learning about electricity right now.

This is a longer video. A little over 5 minutes
The video that has me telling all the why and explanations will be edited together later. This is just the fun parts watching kids get shocked lol

*days like these don't require rum to de-stress*

That was awesome.
There should be more teachers like you.
I had one teacher like that in high school, my chemistry teacher.
He would set the chem desk on fire with different chemicals to show us how different elements burn at different temperatures and colors.

totally cool

I realize everyone today is up in arms over letting kids look at T.V. to much, but in the early days it used to be educational.  Anyone remember a show called Mr. Wizard????????    Now that was cool....................

Mr. Wizard was awesome! I learned tons from watching him.
Beakman and Bill Nye can't hold a candle to what he did. In fact both of their shows are seriously limited to only a few science facts per episode because of how much show biz flash they put into them. They may keep your attention and entertain, but very little learning happens.
Ah the good ole' days...

And Thanks to everyone for the words of support, my job is far more often a thankless one.

*and a rumless one... I keep arguing for rum breaks but they just ignore my pleas*
