It is my belief and understanding that this faire has not happened in a long time, at least not on the museum grounds where is used to be held

Yeah, I'm trying to remember how that went. It was at Ringling for years. I believe Renee and her husband used to work it. Then the faire was moved to the Sarasota fair grounds, while still calling it the Ringling faire, for a season or two. Now we have another faire there,( at the fair grounds) but I do not believe the Ringling faire exists anylonger. Too bad as it was a good show.

I do recall the museums at the estate would stay open durning the event, and if you carried a sword as part of your garb you were not allowed in for fear of some tispy pirate or rogue turning and ripping a hole in one of the Medieval or Boroque paintings on display. Can you imagine?
