I'm only gonna be there the 5th.  I can't speak for Erynn, but I'm pretty sure she's only doing the 5th also.  I don't really have that much extra cash to go two days, especially if I want to make it to Sterling

I will be there for the 5th for sure, dunno about the 6th. Once Bee figures out where he's busing to and when, I'll be able to plan my arrival/stay. Wouldn't mind staying over the 4th though, since I'm not looking forward to leaving at 6am. But we'll see.

BTW LD, I still have that bodice chiller. If you ever need it/want it back, let me know.  :D

Oh, and where are you guys staying? Is it expensive?

well due to the LONGNESS of my bus ride...If I leave fort lauderdale the nite of the 2nd, I'll get there the morning of the 4th.  So unless we make 4th plans to hang out/sleep somewhere...I'll probably go into Chicago for most of the 4th to check it out.

One way or another...I don't have money to pitch in for a hotel.  Which means....I get to practice floor-sleeping.  *sarcastic yay*

We will be staying in Racine,WI at the Ramada Limited the hotel for friday and saturday night where about 150.00 total..and it still would only be about 20 minute drive for us to get to the grounds.. maybe we'll meet you at or before opening gates

Sounds like fun. :) I'm going to have Sam look at nearby Holiday Inns (or anywhere she gets a discount) to see if I can get the friends and family discount. Still will be a bit up there since its a holiday, but hopefully it will be better.

And we definitely need a meet up place. :)

I had been looking around closer to fair and the ones that i found were almost 300.00 some dollars for two nights. but i hope you can find something that isnt to much.

well unless ladiedragon or erynn is down with me crashing on the hotel floor...I'll probably just walk to Bristol from the greyhound station the nite of the 4th, find a comfy secluded area, and sleep there

I'm thinking camping. Lol.

ETA: Pkay, maybe not camping. Unless locals know of some good places? Looked at all the ones on Bristols site.

Sorry Beeboy but crashing in LD & my hotel room is out of the question. Time to ourselves and all, besides we are staying 20 minutes away from Bristol. its way out from the bus station.

No worries.

So....should we all meet up at the gates at a certain time?

I think that LD & I will try to be there before the gates open. Its both of our first time at Bristol so we are sort of lost as to what to do.

Sam will be checking in on rates for me tomorrow, but I'll probably be staying in Milwaukee. The hotels she gets her discount in closer to faire are full. Too bad she's not coming. I could get a room for $50 a night! If I can get a good discount on a room, I'll be there Sat and Sun, otherwise it'll just be Sat.

And I have no clue what garb I'll be wearing yet.

Oh, and hours are 10 to 7.

Erynn, we gonna have fun at Bristol! We'll meet up somewhere.. All I know is that I have to see Moonie first show in the morning. So what time are you planning on being in the vicinity of Bristol, if you know?

A few years ago we got a great price on Priceline, like $30 or $35.  And the hotel was La Quinta, which was really nice.  Milwaukee is kind of far.  Even Racine would be closer.  We will look forward to seeing you there.  As the date gets closer, I'll set up the meet and greet for all interested. ;D

LD, I will hopefully know a bit more tomorrow after Sam checks at work. Its about a 5 hour drive to Bristol so I'll probably try to get to the hotel early evening. Will we have more water fights in the parking lot and mead licking? Hehe.

Renee, I checked Priceline, but the cheapest I can get close by is $69 for a 1 star that doesn't look that great. (I'm kind of scarred. I stayed at the Canterbury Inn during RenDezvous last year and found a roach in my room) Sam works for Holiday Inn so I can get a cheaper rate. Or I should be able to. I'll know more tomorrow.

Erynn, there is an American inn over in Belle Plaine (Where LD & I currently live) http://www.exploreminnesota.com/listing.aspx?EntityID=2899  (http://www.exploreminnesota.com/listing.aspx?EntityID=2899)

Its fairly close to MNRF and its only a couple years old. Just a thought if you stay up this year.

So jumping to the other part of the post.....Mead Licking??? I never heard about that....lol...

Thanks for the link Rage. I'll check it out. Sam and I stayed in the AmericInn right across from the Canterbury Inn and it was really nice.

As for the mead licking... LD might be able to explain  ;)

Room is booked. :) And since Sam won't be there (unless she miraculously gets the weekend off without asking) I'll either be:

Pirate Ricki

Or wearing my Moresca:

Haven't decided yet.

Bristol is my home faire so if there are any questions one needs answered, I will try my best to answer them.

Front gate opens at 10:00 am but the gate to faire opens around 9ish...depending on the mood of the gatekeeper.  It costs three dollars to park in the closest parking lot but there is a free parking lot a bit further away.
