Is it too early to start counting???
34 Saturdays to go...
M'Lady, it's never too early for a CRF countdown!
I think I'm going mad with waiting!!!!
Join the club M'Lady. CRF is the only faire I get to attend each year.
I actually saw you last year, but it was as I was getting in line to get my ticket...you were chatting with some pirates heading towards the entrance. I wanted to say HI, but I also wanted to get my ticket to get in there!!
You don't go to GARF, or NCRF? I go to GARF, and hope to get to NCRF this year.
Next time say hi and your first meade or ale is on me. Well, not ON me, but I'm sure you know...lol
I've been to GARF, and had a grand time, and I hope to go again sometime.
I haven't been to NCRF yet, but I really want to go this year. It all depends on the money...lol
YAY!!! Mead....LOVE me some mead!!!! hehehe
we are sooo waiting for CRF - we had to miss 2009 due to lack of funds and hope to make up for it this year!
My Lady Lisa and I shall be returning in full force to CRF2010. But, as you had mentioned, it's tough to wait all that time...sooo many Saturdays!
I imagine we'll end up at GARF for the Memorial Day weekend, like last year. It's a weekend full of AWESOME! We've also been thinking of taking mini-vacations throughout the year to hit all the faires within a day's ride...that should get us to at least 6 or 8 this year! I guess we need to start gathering some type of Faire pin or something to 'show off'... :) I'm just glad I got my job back, otherwise, we'd be doing NO faires.

My Lord and I have been doing the same thing. In fact, we just got back from the Bay Area Renaissance Festival in Tampa. It was a long drive, but so worth it to have Faire in February!
We also plan on being at GARF for Memorial Day. We'll see you there!
Only 19 more Saturdays to go till opening cannon!!
only 19....that leaves plenty of time to visit elsewhere and meet new friends to invite back to Fairhaven in the fall. This upcoming weekend I'll be visiting the shire in Virginia.

Can't wait to see you guys!
While the gates of Fairhaven do open on October 9th, I hope everyone will be marking their calendars for the second to last weekend, Nov 13th and 14th which will see many of our friends from R/F and Clan M'Crack in the shire.
Its Pirate's Christmas that weekend which always bring a certain crew of musicians down from the Chesapeake for a grand time.
Events will kick off on Friday evening at the pub and continue Saturday morning with the VIP Parking Lot TailGate. Saturday night's dinner is something you don't want to miss, and on Sunday we're reintroducing the trip to the Sunday morning breakfast in garb.
The usual attendance/group ticket thread will appear as the date approachs but mark your calendar now!
Has M'Crack family weekend been changed? I thought it was November 20-21. I'm confused now. :-\
It has been changed. Last year, it was decided to push back a week so as to try and relieve a conflict with cast duties at the Raleigh Christmas Parade. The official weekend will be the NEXT to the last weekend, Nov 13th and 14th. Sorry about the confusion.
Ah, time to make some plane reservations, yes? ;D

LOL! I hear you, but that will have to wait until later.
Well it is now only 16 more Saturdays till opening day! Its creeping closer.
Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock! Wow, are you sure its only 16 weeks, feels like at least 4 months!
In the meantime, remember July 4th weekend at Kentucky, a great faire on a great weekend. A lot of familiar faces will be on site.
Was considering Kentucky, but my lady just had surgery so looks like we'll be at Maryland Labor Day then CRF every weekend.

Maryland is good, CRF is even better. See you at Fairhaven.
As our new home faire since moving to Salisbury, I must agree that Fairehaven is the best. Sure beats Silverleaf our old home faire.
Salisbury is great, my son will be there in the fall at Catawba College!
Only 12 more Saturdays till opening day!!
Yeah! Its audition time, a clear sign that things over in Fairhaven are starting to awaken.
ONLY 10 MORE SATURDAYS TILL OPENING DAY!! IT CREEPS EVER CLOSER!
Can't wait for this to come! Hopefully I'll have a hat by then. :-\
When making plans for the upcoming season at CRF please remember to include the Next TO THE LAST weekend! Invasion weekend for all the R/F and Clan M'Crack friends. Its a great weekend to meet-n-greet and put some faces with names! Events will start that Friday evening at the Galway Hooker and include the traditional Saturday morning tailgate in the VIP parking lot. Details will be posted as we get closer.
Time to start thinking about getting that season pass! Opening weekend is coming.
It doesn't seem possible that faire season is almost here again! Looking forward to seeing everyone! ;D

THAT must be what was behind the timing of landing the new contract job! LOL!
Looking forward to seeing you soon too Femme! ;D
And everybody else...of course!
starting workshops this weekend for the upcoming season...it's almost here! Looks like a great cast this year.
Season passes ordered! VIP parking lot pass ordered so the tailgate site is alive and well for another season.
Well it seems that it is ever creeping closer. I just counted and there are only 7 more Saturdays till opening day. :o :o Better start rummaging around to find me garb and finish sewing my new stuff.
i made a facebook event for pirate christmas/ invasion weekend
here is the link if ye care to chime in
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=150890648256311
Saw the page created by Pirateleach. That's also the weekend that Clan M'Crack will be visiting! ;D
So I take it to mean the "confessional" will be open.
i say bring it ...one and all
Be very afraid! :o
Oh yes be VERY afraid! Sir PA will be there on Sunday!
Thanks for the heads up Master James. I do hope Kevin and the rest of our excellent photographers will be able to capture what will most likely be some great "Kodak" moments.
Between the usual CRF suspects, a fine crew of pirates, some R/F friends and the Clan M'Crack - Pirate's Christmas weekend may turn out to be THE weekend of the season! Brother Timothy will be very busy on Sunday.
It's official. Vincenzo is returning to Fairhaven for the season. And he's out on the streets too ;D
Looking forward to seeing everyone. And pirate Christmas / Invasion weekend will certainly be a great time

Excellent! Looking forward to it.
I don't know yet if I'm going to get to come this year. I won't know till the day before faire opens to see if I have the spare funds....it's been a tough year.

Understandable, I'm in the market for a new position myself. If things remain tight and you have to be really selective, I do hope you'll be able to join us Pirate's Christmas weekend for invasion and M'Crack family weekend.

Excellent! Lady Mikayla and I always enjoy your company when we meet in the lanes Vincenzo!

Wandering Rogue - I hope you make it often, we enjoy your company as well!
And Raebraechkachetenackenmacken...acken! Dang - I still can't pronounce your name Mate! Ray BEAR! LOL! And DAN!
And Femme!
And Willow!
And...
And...Lord Wrothsley!
And (to be amended as the list grows)! LOL!
Season Tickets in hand and invasion the day after John's wedding should make for an interesting year. But first labor day weekend at Maryland Faire.
What d'you guys think about "Sci fi fantasy weekend" (http://www.royalfaires.com/carolina/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=70&Itemid=56)
Seems outta place to me ???
gotta go with you on this one..... although if playtrons go along, I would LOVE to see steampunk - just not sure if I am ready for the faire itself to encourage it.... oh well. Its Nascar race weekend so it wasn't in our plans to come secondary to the high hotel prices.
Steampunk would be a stretch, but could be interesting, especially playing with the cast. Encouraging scifi and having authors there kinda says "we desperately want some of you comic/scifi convention fans to come here too" :\
I didn't connect the dots to race weekend, glad you pointed that out too :P
i know i am gonna be hated for this one, but can we not have the steam punk. Being from Atlanta you kind of trip over the little steamers here. They have specific club nights and picnics and other such events . The local saying goes "Steampunk is the new black"
Heh...hope i dont get too much hate mail
I guess I'm going to take a wait and lets see what happens approach for now. I'll be interested to see just how the Steamers and the cast interact. It should also be interesting to see if the Tortuga Twins use it in any way.

Nah I hear ya. I'd rather not encourage it actively, just like it'd be weird to have a Renaissance day at Dragoncon. But it's less out of place than outright scifi.
No idea if Charlotte has much steampunk going on, there's gotta be something over university-way.
Ok, spent Labor Day weekend up at MDRF and now I'm ready for CRF to start! NOW!
Pyrates Royal were in good form and I look forward to seeing them at CRF on the invasion weekend. London Broil, another CRF favorite, was also in very good form. "Core Audience, huh!"
I hear that Pirate Shantyman & Bonnie Lass are getting the Rialto stage this year alongside Gypsy Geoff, that'll be a nice change. PS&BL deserve a chance to not compete with the joust for once.
Edit: Looks like the 2010 program is up: http://www.royalfaires.com/carolina/images/pdf/2010ProgramCRF-FINAL
Nice to see that apparently the "artist du jour" will be moving around a little.
Just starting to firm up plans to come up from Alabama to meet my daughter in Charlotte and join you all for opening weekend. Since I will be flying in and picking her up at school on Friday night, does anyone suggest an easy and budget concious motel near the site for our use? Most of my funds will probably go to paying for the garb to be shipped! We are tickled to death to be joining you all this year!

In the past and probably once again this year, on Invasion Weekend (later in November), we have used the Quality Inn adjacent to the intersection of Sam Furr Rd (RT 73) and Interstate 77. Its not the Hilton but then again I haven't heard of any real problems. There are several hotels at this exit, hopefully at least one will have a decent price. There are also several places of various price levels to eat as well.
The fair is just down the road (Sam Furr/Rt 73). Just head right down Rt 73 and you'll hit the fair.
While I'd love to make it for the M'Crack invasion weekend, it interferes with my most favorite Pirate Gathering of the year (for which I've already got hotel reservations and tixs). Looking at my calendar, it is possible a trip for opening weekend could be possible. So my question is.... who are the "regulars" or out-of-towners who will be there the weekend of 10/9 (Opening Weekend)??
Can ya make it worth my while? ;)
I'm thinkin (DANGER! DANGER! WARNING!)
any-way. Likely as not, Lady Mikayla and I will be there opening weekend...I mean it is only a few dayses after me Natal Day... 8)
Well, since you already have the hotel room and tickets its hard to argue the point, so have a great time!
I'll miss opening Saturday but the Friar of Fairhaven, Timothy, will be there on Sunday! Sermon at 3, at M'Crack Corner down by Medieval Margarita stand!
St. Arrgustine is only one weekend so we can't postpone to another time. The month of October is entirely booked except for Opening weekend, as is November... I'm gonna keep looking into it and possibly start saving. :)
Ok folks! You will see us opening weekend! Both days. I'll wear my pin so PLEASE seek me out. I will be trying to do the whole faire in 2 days!

Thats great! Check the web site for a coupon that gets two adults in for only $20. You'll save $18 per day. I know in our house every little bit helps.
I will miss Saturday, but I do hope to see you and say hi on Sunday! Safe journey.
We'll be there both days opening weekend. I'm looking to seeing everyone again!
I always find it hard to find the coupon on the website (special events, click on opening weekend, scroll to the bottom look for "coming from out of town") so for the rest of our out of towners, here is the direct link
http://www.royalfaires.com/carolina/images/pdf/OnlineCoupon2010.pdf
See ya then!
Thanks! I got mine! I also emailed the festival and they sent me the coupon again to download and print. You are some friendly folks up there!
Well me lovelies,
It be twenty six days till opening cannon!!
I can't wait! I will be there opening weekend both days! Yeah!
Amy, I've seen you so much on the sewing threads I hope I get a chance to meet you when you come out. I'm with the kids most of the time but take them to the jousts too so you can find me there most days.
Thank you for the lovely welcome, Lady Harrogate. I will certainly look for you! Maybe I will have the red dress ready to wear? (maybe not! haha)
I'm hopeing to have a new one by our open too, aqua and brown. Plan to make it as soon as I finish all the commissions. Be sure and take a peak at our royal guard. I'm making them new doublet/tabards based off the yeoman of the guard but in our royal colors and insigna. I made our musicians costumes too.
Tick Tock....who hears the Ren Faire clock? In a week we get to have our Ren fix!
Only 5 more days...that's 124 hours...or 7440 minutes. But who's counting?
aren't we all?
Can't make it this weekend because I will be out of state, but come the following weekend and hopefully a few weekends after I will be there. woot! ;D
Envy you folks! We just got to hear Cast In Bronze for the first time here at Riverssance!
Bought 2 CD's
I fly to NC in ... One More Day... One More Day.... One More Day!!!

Have a safe flight. The weather looks great for the weekend! Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday!
Oh Good Lord, how can you people be so calm! I am about springing out of my chair with excitement! I will be soooo right where I fit in tomorrow at this time. Strolling the lanes in the sunshine with a cold ale in my mug, a song on my lips and friends wherever I look!
5 more minutes of work...it may as well be 5 years as slow as it's going...TOMORROW IS THE DAY!
Sees ya in th' morn!!! Hibernian - I looks forward t' seein' ye on Sunday Mate! 8)
Huh...my season pass hasn't showed up yet :(
I ordered Sep 29, the website says anything before Oct 1 will be mailed...
Now? Now? I'v been sitting here since 4 AM staring at Ewan and he won't get up. Oh, allright, we did agree that we would get up at 5:30 but I am ready NOOWWWWWW....
