My "Everyday at Faire" thread made me wonder...
Who here actually stays/lives in their building, whether it be just over the weekend or for the entire faire?
My grandparents had two back rooms in their building in Bristol. Grandma stayed the entire 9 weeks!
None of their other shops had living areas, though.
Our current shop is a pavilion, so we don't live in it. But I have worked faires where I did live in the shop during at least some weekends, and we'd love to get a permanent location at some of the shows we do and live upstairs.

We all live at the Foundry during the faire season. There's a couple of weekends that we tent it to be with McLotofus, but otherwise we all sleep at the shop. We even have some others from different places that stay over as well. Tracey, Ivy, and Eric have the recessed bedroom areas, while myself, my husband, Crystal (manager of the tail booth) and CatAshtrophy (RF member, and hawker for Wine and Alchemy) share the common area. This is all upstairs, and it's a decent amount of space. The walls need to be finished though, as it gets deathly cold.
I live in my building Friday thru Monday during the Kentucky faire. I have a 16' x 20' upstairs area. My parents sometimes stay with me or my niece and this year one of my friends will stay sometimes.
I am Merlin.... I live everywhere.
I've thought it would be interesting to use one of the Tumbleweed house floor plans that could be attached to a merchant building. Tumbleweed houses can take from 65 square feet on up, and they seem to be well designed to maximize the little space that is used.
We stay at the shop for 4 days a week. Its very nice to be able to stay up there rather than have to commute so to speak. Though the first few weekends at the Colorado festival get a bit chilly we have lotsa warm blankets to help against that!
