Does Scarby have scooter rentals for those with disabilities?
A friend of mine who is in a wheel chair has been dying to get to Scarby, but he doesn't have a scooter and doesn't want someone having to push him around.
Gutenberg Press rents them. You can call the office and get their number. I think you can reserve then with a CC.
Thanks! ;D
From the www.scarboroughrenfest.com (http://www.scarboroughrenfest.com) web page:
Handicapped Accessibility: The Festival site is handicapped accessible. Manual and electric wheelchairs are available for rent inside the gate. The Gutenberg Press, located just inside the front gate, rents Dragon Wagons, wheelchairs and electric scooters. Wagons are available first come, first served only. Electric Scooters and Wheelchairs may be reserved by calling (713) 870-4833, between 9am and noon, Monday through Friday. Please be sure to contact Gutenberg by no later than noon on Friday the day before you want to rent your wheelchair or scooter.
I agree that Scarbourough is good for handicapped accessibility. It has been my experience that one of the more difficult areas is right at the main gate. That slope downhill with the gravel can be kind of tough to negotiate, even before you get to the Gutenburg press shop. But stay to the right and you should be able to make it. Now that I have StudMuffin, it has not been a problem in the least. So go, rent and if I am there and find you, we can have a race.
Thanks VIII - I had just found that this morning. Didn't even think to look in the FAQ. DOH!
