Title: Minnesota Festival of Fairies
Post by: saphire_glade on March 21, 2010, 10:48:37 PM
Hi:

I was wondering *if any of you live up here on the no longer frozen Tundra of MN* if anyone has heard of this. There was a very vague post about it on a group that I watch on Yahoo, and was wondering if anyone else had more information.

Thanks

Haven't heard anything about this, and no amount of googling brings anything up.  I'd like to hear more about this as well if anyone has any info...

A long time ago there was something posted here. But it was more wishful thinking by a fairy fan.

Circle Pines at the begining of May?  Yeah, that sounds doable!  =D

Yeah, not sure how much they will have. As far as I can gather this will be their second year of putting this on. But it does give me a date to have my new wings ready for and a great place to give them a trial run.

Hey Saphire, I believe that the poster is Andre who runs Front Gate at MRF.  Couldn't find a website of anything on it either.

Wel dang, I'll be in Duluth that weekend.  They should do a better job at getting the word out about this.  I'd never heard of it up until now.  They'd probably get larger attendance/more participants if they put this in City Pages/Facebook/etc.

I think more people and vendors would have turned out if there hadn't been a wind advisory.  It was interesting walking around and seeing so many empty booths - at least half of the vendors were no shows.
:P

I was shocked that for a fairy festival there really weren't any fairies there other than Jewel!  And you only just joined up a couple of months ago, didn't you?  This event COULD be a great one, if anyone actually knew about it!  I tried to get the word out on a few sites- MomsLikeMe.com for one (and I saw a few of my mom friends from there at the fairy fest so I know that it worked at least a little!)  Then after we left Giggles and I went to downtown Anoka for Diva Days and we told a LOT of people about it.  Not sure if any of them ended up attending but many said that they wish that they'd known about it.  Party Papers just recieved a huge shipment of kids fairy costumes- that would have been a GREAT booth to have at the fest!  We should really help figure out how to market this thing better- cause it could be, SHOULD be, a huge event!

Here are a few photos I have of the MN fairy festival.  Alora had a blast playing with the bubbles!
