The parade has been reversed this season, folks. So means we need to figure out where we're continueing our tradition of Meet n' Greet this season.
EDIT: We are unsure as to where we are herding everyone to at Rendezvous. Will let you know as soon as I can...
Except for the weekend of Rendezvous, other options could be in front of the Kings Pub/Pavillion? The volume of people there will be much higher...so I'm not extremely keen on the idea.
Your ideas?
For the regular season I would vote for the Dirty Duck.
FOF nearby and its at the end of the parade.
The only problem with Cat-n-Fiddle is that for those in the parade, they would have to walk all the way back across the grounds to meet... and trust me after "strutting" the parade that's the last thing you want to do!
Agreed that the King's Pavilion gets way to crowded.
Dirty Duck sounds like a good idea. Lots of room and shade over there and it puts you by the post-parade proclamation. But if you want to see the parade you'll want to head up past the Carillon stage to somewhere by the Peg Leg Stage. Since the parade is back to the old route the guard groups (SRG, Musketeers, and Scots) "should" begin to split ranks by the West Market to let the rest of the parade and royal family pass through.
I'm going to have to agree with DonaCatalina and Nicolas, the Dirty Duck / FOF area would be a good place.
Having never made the death march, but having spoken with friends who have (especially veterans who only make it on Memorial Day), I'm quite glad to have the parade returned to the route that was used prior to last season because 1. I didn't like it going the opposite direction, and 2. I'm sure that going up the hill past the joust at the end instead of the beginning was a serious belch of a situation for tired marchers!
That said, I've also never made an R/F meet & greet because I take part in the IWG Wench Line, which is between the arch at Taylor Lane and the Eagle's Crossing bridge, but I'll try to get to at least one this season, though due to an IWG invasion opening weekend, it won't be this weekend.
Also, IWG wenches who may not be on TXIWG or Wench.org, this year's official Local 13 meet & greets will be held at 11:30 daily, usually at one of the tables near the Sea Hag stage by the Captain's Pub. We would love to see you there!
We are from out of town and are clueless to where everything is, of course.
Is there any way there can be something printed up with the events, times, and locations of all the activities for both days that could be available at the Meet & Greet on Friday, and also at the tailgates?
It wouldn't have to be fancy, photocopied on white paper would be wonderful. Just something to help those of us who are visiting, to point us in the right direction so we don't miss anything.

There's a nice new detailed map on Scarby's site now. http://www.srfestival.com/festival-map/information-booth/festival-map.html

we usually like to be down by the Dirty Duck at the end of parade, but will try to make it wherever you guys decide.
I am horrible about making meet and greets! If someone see's the Dirt Fairy and I wandering about...please scoop us up and march us over to the meet and greet area! lol ;)
On a personal note: If you have questions, please ask them.
These folks are good, reeaally gooood!

google maps-tailgate party map coordinates 32.360263, -96.889149
Facing the front gate it would be on the left side of the entrance- look for all the flags in the parking lot.
Dirty Duck Pub inside the Faire map coordinates 32.357951, -96.888678

I wasn't going to say anything.... but......
:D
With all the grid coordinates that Dona Catalina is giving out it looks like she's getting ready to call in an air strike. Not sure I want to be in that AO.
A Rennie JDAM? I don't even want to THINK about what THAT would entail... :D

Just keep on the lookout for seagulls.
See you post parade at the Dirty Duck tavern, if not 9am in FOF parking.
Dirty Duck it is. I usually watch the parade from the King's Pavilion- but who knows this year! Glad the parade is back to normal again!

LOL! One of these (http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/app5/paveway-2.html) ought to do the trick ;)
So unless argued otherwise past this point, ladies and gentlemen, (Rendezvous on 3rd Weekend as an exception)-
The Dirty Duck will be the spot for the RF.com Meet n' Greet for 2010 season!
We tend to meet during/after parade and on major weekends, do group photos.
See everyone there!
Me thinks she put her foot down...
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Looks that way Fraser :)
If I remember and I can find it... I will be there tomorrow.
We will be there! ;)
See you all there! We usually watch the parade from just the other side of the Carillon, a short walk to the Dirty Duck (sounds like the name of a strange song).
We have been watching the parade on Taylor lane. We'll try to make the post parade meet & greet at the Dirty Duck this Saturday; and maybe have fish for lunch.
we will be there! the fish is yummy! :)
Maybe the parade people will need to meet up and 'march' to the location...hehehhehhe
I will try and make it, depends on when the wedding is done.

You're getting married!
Who's the lucky girl?
not me, just doing the pike thing with the qoh, some other lucky girl I guess. lmao
I always stop at the FoF down there at the end of Parade for water...I really need it after drumming & marching for 20 min :o
But I can only hang for a bit because I have a 2:00 show :-\
