A 4x4 and a heavy duty wench should help mitigate rainy weather conditions.
OK.... so I messed up last year and allowed the dragon to cry more than usual.
I have kept him fed well in the off season and he assures me that he will obey this year.
I wager my staff on it.... this year will be dryer than last.
I made a new staff...did I show ya yet?

This one is sure to work better than the old one.

Heh heh, you said wench. ;) I'm finding you the next time I get stuck in the mud.
I second Bonny! Rain, snow, sleet or hail. Ok, maybe not hail. I'm not sure my hat could hold up to it. But anything else and I'm THERE!

After making it through "Snow Day" a few years back...any weather is good weather as long as I'm at faire! ;D

I think it was about 1997 that opening day was cancelled due to weather, rain, and lack of patrons. I was there of course. As long as the roads are open (and maybe if they are not) I will try to get there.
The weather in Denton is absolutely beautiful. Can it repeat like this in Waxahachie on Saturday? Plllleeeeaaaaasssseee?
If it doesn't get over 75 degrees, I'll some what happy. I can stay in the shade and be cool.
I think Ryk jinxed us. He posted the forecast . ::)
indeed indeed.... Oh well there is a reason that we got garb matching umbrella and cloaks. I'd be concerned about the feathers though. I do have to say my DH wished for a cooler Scarby this year so he wouldn't sweat alot in his new coat.
I volunteer to take any weather you don't want... ;D
It does look like it will be wet for part of the weekend. :-[
I tried! I think the El Nino wizard might win this one! DRAT!
If you like the weather- I did it. If you don't like it- tis not MY fault! LOL!
I think it'll be fine. Cloudy with a few sprinkles, not bad. Back home our house will be under a flood warning.
I thoroughly enjoyed the few showers we had at Scarby last year over Memorial weekend. I got to know several people I might not have had the chance to chat with if we hadn't been huddled under trees or in shops together, and the lovely cool air was a wonderfully welcome break from the gathering heat. The few muddy spots were a good excuse to hold onto the pirate who was escorting me, as well, so overall, I'd say it was beautiful weather! ;) :D
Saturday turned out to be marvelous yet again!
We had some light misting early in the day but the temps and the overcast meant we were able to stay much later than usual.
If you stayed home because of the forecast, you missed out.
It was a comfortable, enjoyable day for faire! The photographers loved the clouds!
We try to please! Fixing faire weather is not an easy job!
You did a great job on Saturday for the most part ;)
I only had to play the last show in the rain yesterday, but I think EVERY Stardancer show today was the "dancing mermaid show"...
Hey... I was concentrating my dragon taming on NASCAR this weekend...and I lost.
However....I'm sure that I tired him enough that he will no cry on Scarborough this coming weekend.
let us hope your right Merlin. ;D
How about 57 - 77 with nay a cloud to be seen..... both days!

Now your talking lad. Work thy magic.
The weather, to me, was great. I'd rather have a few sprinkles and lots of clouds than the blazin' texas sun. I keep a journal, and had noted last year that it rained almost every day that I didn't attend and had indeed never been on a day when it was a washout. This weekend was the rainiest I had ever seen, and it was actually nice. I may not be a wizard, but I am a friend of the Dragon Reborn and one who has lived as a warrior in ages past, bending the pattern around myself as I move through life...I am ta'vereen (for fellow WOT fans). If I am at the Faire, the weather will be good.
I'll probably get drowned one weekend this year............
I belive there is no such thing as bad weather. There are just people who don't come prepared for all contingencies. Hence the reason for som many pouchs on my belt. ;D

I remember that day as one of my best. We sat in a hotel room with all of Queen Anne's Lace rehearsing their show, and Baron Rooke passed out sips of The Remedy as I combed out all of the girls long and lovely hair.
Ahhh, now THAT was an Opening Day!
Well said, my friend. Does not matter what the weather is, besides we can do swimming lessons in the jousting arena. ;D

Here's what Queen Bonnie and I have in store for you this weekend.... Let's see... for Saturday I believe we'll start out with a tiny bit of clouds but only a 10% chance that the dragon will cry. At opening canon let's keep it around 61 degrees. Around noon, I believe I'll move all the clouds so the beautiful Texas sky can show to the out of staters... let's crank it up to about 76 degrees.
On Sunday.... nae chance for the dragon to cry.... clear skies and the same temperatures.
How's that work fer ye?
I'll take it, cousin! We maybe dancing with lightning bolts friday night but along as the weather is fair for faire, it's all good!
*nice spell* ;)
At least we won't be dancing naked in the rain... in camp. :D That's the one nice thing about having to stay in the hotels...
Damn! Now I feel like I am missing something. ;)
You mean the hotel, the camp or the naked rain dancing? :P :D
lmao lass all of the above I suppose. ;D

Hey, no fair - my fantasy was your reality ... ;) :D
I guess it's true what they say, "
It's good to be the King!" 8)
Depending on how far south the system reaches Scarby may not even get touched. However I don't mind it getting "a little" wet right before the weekend to kinda knock the dust down.
Looks like you got your wish. :D
Looks like all the rain will be long gone well before cannon.
The radar shows that the ---- has passed Scarby with 6-7 hours of partly cloudy skies ahead. as of 6:00am
I didn't get into faire until 1230 this afternoon but we had cloudy skies and none of that wet stuff for the rest of the day.
Besides a tad muggy, the weather was great.
And I specifically didn't attend this weekend because of the forecast. Dangit! I have to gig on every remaining Saturday night in May so I'll have to hope for a good Sunday soon. :)
Weather could not have been better either day this weekend. Now next week we shall see. Remember it is rain or shine so comeon out.
