For those of you who know what the Hamster Invasion is about, or are intrigues to know more...
There will be happiness spreading to Scarborough. Any boons to the Hamster King should be posted here by the 19th. We will have an agent in the area. All requests subject to royal approval.
Huzzah for Festival!
The Hamster King is coming to Scarborough?! :D
We are progressing to Scarby in the coming days, but sadly our hamster hit the road to find himself (or herself) on our way to Larkspurshire last mid summer and has not been heard from since :'(
The Hamster King will be there incognito... as always... but there will be three adoption representatives there in the next few weeks. (Actually, 'Rella, aka Laura is already there working at one of the pop booths.... she's the adorably loud and obnoxious one.)
We will have regular hamsters, zombie hamsters, fairy hamsters, zombie fairy hamsters, Curly hamsters, garden variety hamsters, pirate hamsters and oh so many more.
As always they are gifted to those who have kind loving hearts and positive attitudes. We now have hamsters in CO, CA, WI, MI, DC, Pittsburgh, AZ and soon... TX. We just love spreading hamster happiness.
Oooo a pirate hamster sounds intriguing!
How about Knightly Hamsters?
don;t yoiu mean a jousting hamster?
well that works too :P
For those of us out of the loop- what is this hamster invasion about? do tell more?

How about Knightly Hamsters?
The first person to pin a hamster to Sir William wins! Actually it has been a long debate over how to do hamster jousting. Mini lances? Tying them to the large lances? Scaring the horses is an issue.
As for Knightly hamsters... that would be up to the Queen.

Heartening Hamstern as they are dubbed by the Hamster King, were introduced to the forums several years ago before the mighty site crash. They have multiplied... like hamsters and invaded many Ren worlds. They are a way of lightening the mood on a forum... Keeping a thread alive, or just a way to be silly. After all, they are just totally cute. There are many who have decided to adopt hamsters and make them part of their garb or take them with them on events. One of the pirate hamsters has even appeared on PBS.
So when a Royal Hamster Adoption Agent is in the area, we herald it so that others who choose to be silly with us, will be able to join in the fun. We seek happy homes for the hamsters that spread positivity in the Ren world.

Easily done...at least for me :P I've heard rumors that the REAL Sir William (as little Cassandra of the Scarborough Guard calls him) and his Lady shall be about the Shire the last weekend in April...this is unconfirmed but rumored!
If the Queen would be so kind as to send a Knightly hamster with the Adoption Agent down to Texas...he can join the ranks of the Knights of Noble Cause
something like this maybe?

There are also a bunch of happy hamsters In Minnesota. ;o)
I'm not sure why... but suddenly I think I need a hamster...
*can I feed it rum?*
I don't see why not ... mine enjoys mead ... possibly too much! ;)
I wonder how a hamster would get along with my overly familiar???

Lunch!
Nae! My overly familiar has very refined tastes! Haggis on a stick with a catnip chaser is more his style! LOL!
He harms no living creatures.
My renlet has been hankering for another hamster since her last two both succumbed to aging within weeks of each other. One she could incorporate into her garb would suit me just fine! We will have to keep a lookout for these adoption agents, for she is extremely well qualified to join this noble society!
Heartening hamsters are very very friendly. And they can get into fun trouble as well!
Well, that sounds like they will be well matched... :D
I'd love to adopt a piratey hamster, hamster buccaneer. I shall call him Capt. Hammy (o: When he's not traveling to faire with me he can keep a watch over my office for me.

Hail to thee, mighty adventurers and seekers of mirth, merriment and rum.
Thy boons have been heard. The Hamster King has issued a very large litter of wee hamster bairn to be prepared for transportation to the beauteous Kingdom of Scarborough. They will be arriving this very Saturday morning for a friskerous weekend of revelry.
We are feeding the domestic oats as they truly prefer the wild ones and need to keep their numbers to a minimum while they travel. We do have a very small number of piratical, fire and zombie hamsters in attendance at this time due to their very veracious behavior.
If thy heart is true and thy bearing is full of merriment, please seek out Blushing, myself Sister Mary Clarity or our lovely Nixie (aka 'Rella or Laura in the pop booth.)
*perk* pirate hamster? want!
Update on the arrival of the hamsters... The Royal Hamster Adoption Agency Agent... Nixie aka 'Rella aka Laura is no longer working in the pop booth. She can be located at the Rose and Crown. (There are too lovely Lauras there but they both will know about it.)
For those of you looking for me... I will most likely be the only nun in a brown habit. Blushing is as lovely as her ren pic so she should be easily recognized.
Cheers to all! Can't wait to see Paige!
I shall be attending the Knight Luncheon with the Knights on Saturday so I will see her then!....and if not....one of you can seek me out on the Lists as always.
I've also had the rumors confirmed. Sir William and his Lady shall be joining us on Sunday....so you can chase him around with a hamster if you choose to do so! :D
I'm beginning to think a chain maille hamster is what my renlet is looking for... she's playing with her catapult right now! LOL
My squirrel rennie is intrigued, and can't wait to meet his furry kindred.
Cheers to the Hamster Rennie realm! Huzzah!! 8)
Huzzah indeed!
Grammercy for the lovely compliment Sister Mary Clarity!
I shall be wearing my flower-wrapped hat with my R/F pin for cert on Saturday. Sunday may be the same, or not, but regardless I'll have hamsters with me. ;D
the precious (pirate hammy)! we wants it!

You can't have him! His name is Miles and he was a gift (un-chainmailed) from a student when I was pregnant with my oldest. I can probably talk Al-Nimer into 'garbing' any stuffed animal you might want mailled.

Did you say fire hamsters??? As in firemen, or on fire? *grin* I have a friend who would probably adore them if they're firemen-style hamsters. :)

Oh, I'm sure Miles would be safe... she would just be on me about getting chain maille for all her stuffed friends, and then for herself (again)... She really noticed chain maille for the first time this year, and I could see the glint in her eye! I'm thinking I don't want to tell her that people actually MAKE the stuff themselves, or I can totally see having to invest in lots and lots of wire and books in the near future!!!
Hamsters are all safely nestled for traveling via dragon. Their keeper however thinks she packed entirely too much garb.

You, or someone you know, will always have a garb malfunction when only the minimum amount of garb is packed. We all know this, and must pack accordingly, no matter how far we're traveling! It's one of the Laws of Faire, I believe...

Amen!
Hello! I will have to hamsters by noon (all things going well) On Saturday. I'm in the rose and Crown, but it may be quite busy this weekend. So, We shall work on getting them to you eager hamsterkin folk.
I have received my new friend, Aloysius. He's quite psychotic, and bit me on the way home. I don't blame him though... he's just unhappy cause he got "picked last in gym class"...
Mine should be on the way home now. He will have to temporarily live with a crew mate until arrangements can be made to get him to his final destination. Hopefully these home transitions won't affect the hamster he grows up to be. bouncing around foster homes can tough on a ham-let.
I HAZ A ZOMBIE HAMSTER!
And I am well pleased.
*Teaching him to guard my rum...*
I have Francisco the Fire Hamster home with me now. I discovered the hard way that he is a little too warm to ride in the bodice. :o
We have a fuzzy wuzzy hamster. He likes to look around so he rides around on my hat. He made only jump to see something shiny yesterday but he made it home nice and safe.
Algernon is tucked safely asleep in my upturned hat on the pile of my garb. He was not happy to be taken from my cleavage after riding around there snuggly all day yesterday but he made it home safe! Thanks to Blushing for delivering him to me! <3
Fluffybeard went exploring in my garb bag last night and tried to run off into the washer with a skirt (he has the makings of a Rogue already) but was captured and returned to the safety of my tricorn. No casualties here!
Sir Spotty (yes yes I know not very imaginative :P Blame Her Majesty Queen Margaret :P She named him at his knighting :P) and his mate who has yet to be named are nestled safely in my wooden mug.
KP, your as yet un named Pirate type Hamster was safely nested among Dawn's garb items when last I cared to look. He has formed a bit of an attachment on "Patches",the little multi colored hamster that the lovely aforementioned Dawn and myself adopted. Patches will live with his "Mother" until other arraingments are made.
Need to keep an eye on them hamsters. I adopted one last colorado faire season, brought him home and next thing i new him and the rat was drinking my rum and planning pirate adventures. He downed a eye patch and a sash and calls himself Blackspot the Pirate Hamster. I don't see them much but the rum seems to always be gone.
Just what I always wanted. My own little hamster. I will name him George, and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him and pat him and pet him and rub him and caress him and...
Humphrey the Hamster Fairy is exceedingly happy with his new mom (my renlet), and has started to display an amazing talent for tricks and gymnastics, many of which he demonstrated yesterday for anyone who would stay in one place long enough to watch! He slept most of the way home, and doesn't seem at all disturbed by all his travels... in fact, he seems to want to head back to Faire right now, and I can't say I disagree! :D Thank you, Blushing, for bringing him to us! :)
These little fuzzies sound so adorable!! I hope they visit my faire one day!!
Oh, Blushing! I just know Tammy was born to be a Hamster Companion, and I believe she could be counted on to spread hamster happiness wherever she might roam!!! Somehow or other Hamster Rennies need to find their way to CRF...
Hails and respectful thanks to The Hamster King! Our newly adopted hamster addition, "Maker's Mark Harmon", is adjusting well, and is currently enjoying getting to know his new friend, Todd the Squirrel. Scarby was great! Thanks again!!
Pics soon...
My yellow hamster wants a better name- and garb too! Kilt, Pirate, and a wizard hat?
He and my overly Familiar Tachi get along very well! I am sure the garb was Tachi's Idea.
Thanks be to the Hamster King and his Minions! What a lovely idea! HUGS!
You are all very welcome! It certainly sounds as if the many hamsters have found quite appropriate caretakers. They do tend to get into trouble ... I know my own Wee One hopped out twice on Sunday!
Tammy, I have wanted to visit your faire for a long time ... and I know Rennie hamsters LOVE traveling! Hmmm.

Oh, my... I can see the hamster wheels turning already... :D heheh
We would LOVE a visit from you Blushing!!!!!
And, if perhaps, you brought some cute little fuzzies...that would be fun too! :D
She is an awful lot of fun, Tammy, and I know you two would have a great time together at Faire... and her furry friends are so very much fun!!! :D
Believe it or not, Holierthanthou made more than 200 hamsters to bring to Scarby, which was great fun and a wonderful faire!
All of the hamsters she brought found new homes and she has already made about ten more since we got home.
Huzzah to Scarborough for such a great weekend!
A very cute little grey fellow peeked his dark eyes at me out of Blushing's basket on Satruday, and I knew he wanted to go home with me. "Stormy" spent the day tucked in my tunic lacings and is currently napping in my tote bag (must check on the garb closet when I get home to see what mischief he might have gotten into). He wanted to ride in my archery glove, but will need a leash to do that, as he kept trying to jump out. He is also looking forward to finding a perch somewhere about my pirate twin's person. I expect that by the end of closing weekend, he will have made the requisite three struts in the parade and will become a Royal Guard Hamster (with his very own green sash of course).
Huzzah for all the new Heartening Hamster Companions. The wee bairn had a wonderful time going out to new homes. It is blissfully delightful to know that there are so many whimsy loving people out there.
Grammercy to Nixie, Laura and Blushing (Our Baroness) for the exceeding successful distribution put forth getting the wee bairn new homes.
We will have to return to Scarborough again... although not this year... trying to get to Mayfaire in Michigan. Truly enjoyed seeing old friends, making new friends and am sorry to have missed meeting so many. Ah but there are always other festivals that we may meet again!
A Royal Huzzah goes out to Lady Lisa who met the Hamster King's challenge and tagged Sir William with a cream colored fairy hamster. (It will be trouble due to it's yellow eyes... might be kin to Sir Roderick.) It was a joy to watch thee tag him. Thy reward shall be blessed upon thee at CRF.

I almost beat her!! I almost had him just before the final Joust of the day....but he felt me tugging on the ribbon :( There should be second place cause it was super easy for Mama to do! :P

I am so sad. I saw Hamsters, but never got over to get one. I'd still like to have one... is it possible?
Capt Marga/Jofranka
Capt Marga,
Please forgive as I did not see this post right away.
Are you or anyone you know coming to CoRF?
Unfortunately, the representatives at Scarby are all out of hamsters and I don't know of anyone that will be going back this year. We probably will be back next year.
There may be other festivals that you can get one at as well. If we are visiting and handing out hamsters at a festival, we usually post a thread titled "Hamster Rennies".

I would be more than happy to do so as well. Mort, my rat of the plague persuasion, would love having a new friend!
