Title: Flintlocks
Post by: Lady Kett on April 13, 2010, 08:55:56 PM
Are there any vendors at Scarby that have flintlocks for sale? I desperately want a bandoleer (at least I think that's what it's called!) and a few flintlocks for my pirate persona. I'm thinking there isn't one...so if not, I'm in search of an reputable online vendor?!

Should not be any.  Scarborough is a juried faire, where hand-crafted items are sold.  Flintlocks would not make it through the Jury selection.  Bud K?

I can vouch for that.  My Dad was a gunsmith that loved making muzzle loader black powder weapons.  The labor that goes into a hand crafted flintlock is price prohibitive for almost everyone.  I would bring the one he made me but it is the wrong era.  It is a Kentucky style (18-19 Century) and not quite right for 1533.  But it sure is fun to shoot.

I'm selling a replica flintlock from 1701 London. Its got a nice bronze overlay and comes with a handmade holster.

I saw a blunderbuss at Legacy Forge.  I think they have access to pistols also though.
