Title: The passing of a good person
Post by: LadyStitch on April 14, 2010, 08:53:21 AM
I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this, but if it isn't feel free to move it.

As many of you know I'm a costumer at the pocket sandwich theater in Dallas.  30 years ago it was started by Joe Dickenson and Rodney Dobbs.  I am saying with great sadness that last night "Pappa" Joe Dickenson passed away.  He was in his late 80's.   He was the writer of many of the melodramas that are performed there, including the current show running, and the rennie invaded "Captain Blood" from last summer.

It is a great loss to the theater community of Dallas. Currently i have not heard when a memorial service will be held, but I will post here when I do.

4 years ago he made me promise to take over the costumes for the theater should the old costumer retire.  With in 3 weeks of me return to Dallas he gave this fresh from school costumer her first show.  10 shows, and 3 years later I'm still working there, and making better and better things for them, the theater community, and the rennie community.

Even if you didn't know him, raise a tankard to a good man who is gone from this world, but will not be forgotten.

Here's to your friend! Good folks pass all too quickly thru this old world, even if they have lived 8 decades....it is never long enough. A lost artist is always missed, but his art shall carry on...through you and others he touched!
