After attending Scarby last month my brain has been quite active.
I've been attending CRF for... years now (13? phew) and I was just wondering, how many people actually attend as playtrons?
As Demetrius MIGHT Say. None of us as we are all just hamsters in a giant wheel.
Actually many of us do while others work. I cannot count who all works and doesn't but I know Baron and Baroness, Toki and I are all playtrons. Blaze and Sir Garath, Platte, Aernn, Tanda, GentlemanPrivateer, Carpathian are also playtrons. There are more on the forum but those I cannot say if they work or play. Look Toki and I up. I am the one who is often mistaken for the real queen... well I am the real queen Henry just won't admit he made a mistake by taking up with Anne

If by Playtron you mean someone who attends festival the majority of the days that it is open, always attends in garb, and may or may not have a "persona", I would guess in the neighborhood of a couple dozen.
Why do you ask?

That is actually exactly what I mean! :)
And I ask because Scarby got me addicted to the idea, and it's always good to know that I'm not alone ;)
Well, then, welcome aboard! (But prithee refrain from employing glitter bombs in vicinity of noble's garb!)
You will be in good company. I suggest you look up the Baron and Baroness to get a good tour and meet a great number of people. I've enjoyed walking with them. :)

All of them. Actually, 412, including a
queen here and there... ;)
Scarby is a great faire- stop and say hi when you get to CRF!
She's the beautiful hamster carrying songbird that ye heard singin' with Puck, Capt'n J and the girls Demetrius. Picture doesn't do her justice. She be the one escorted and protected by the Captain of the Guard when he can get away the real Majesties.

Heavens Lady,
You're so kind with words. I'm not a songbird... really...
Now the Capt'n of the Guard bit- That's real and honest truth. Though I'm going to attempt to not be a trouble to him as he'll be working. Thus my call for "friends". ;)
(ps- My hamster is waiting patiently upon my bookshelf, I thank you for allowing me to adopt one, and it was super nice to meet you at Scarby!)
I'm really excited to meet a lot of people that I've merely walked by in the past years!!
And we're anxious to meet you as well!
My David and I are 'Playtrons-who-volunteer', that is, we trade off certain duties for free tickets, etc. Other than that, we are straight out Playtrons.
Since I have a weird mundane work/school schedule that is subject to change with sometimes only a weeks notice, I can't commit to working a faire for pay. Also, due to my Laird and I being of a certain advanced age, we don't like to get wet/cold/hot and be forced to stay if we are not comfortable. It works for me.
*edit* I should admit that the times we have actually left a faire early can be counted on less that 1/2 the fingers of one hand. *sigh* We are addicts.
Does the Hamster revolving on a Giant wheel constitute a Hamster Revolution?
*ducks and runs from the angry nun*
