You may not have any after that

The rules were changed this year so that DB and John picked the site, no voting this time. Huzzah!!
I'm so excited!!
Just have to remember to hide the rum.....in fact i will be hiding with the rum
Yes Zoe, I saw that. Makes me happy that CoRF was selected. I hear a few a grumbling. But Colorado is a wonderful faire. Sure it's not back east, and sure it's not down in the south, we might as well say we are North west as I am not sure Washinton, oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Wyoming have faires. I know Washington had some faires. But anywho
I am thrilled and if Blushing needs help I have raised me noble hand to help out if she needs it.

This is great! It will be nice to have some more out of towners come to our home!
Coming back to my home state for a Rendezvous sounds incredible! It's been two years since I've been to CORF, and I've been meaning to get back. If I don't get out this coming season, hell nor high water shall keep from coming to Colorado next year.
Super excited for ya'll!
And as one of the co-planners/hosts for the 2010 Rendezvous here at Scarby, if you need any help with figuring out things, planning, etc, don't hesitate to renmail me. I'd be glad to help however I can!

What? What did I do?
Ok, so questions.
1) Piece-tied weapons ok?
2) Typical weather mid June?
1) Peace-tied weapons are fine.
2) Typical weather is there is no typical weather...chances are temps will be anywhere from 50-95, possibility for rain, hail, snow...
(really though, what is possible to happen is there will be cooler temps in the morning, sunshine throughout the day raising the temperature to the mid-80s, and it might possibly rain sometime after 2pm but will clear up before closing cannon...that seems to be the "average" day, but you really never know. I would pack a cloak and leave it in the car; you can always run and get it if you need it.)

and if you don't peace tie (zip tie) it yourself, they will put one on for you at the gate. a really big ugly obvious white one.
Don't own a cape. Pubs serving anti-freeze work best!
I use the 3 Cs when peace-tieing / Camouflage - Cover - Concealment but it is very well tied.

Lucky for you, you can get one there. :D cuz the booze don't keep the rain off..... the shops that sell t-shirts also have emergency rain ponchos. ooorrr... you can stand under the eve's at Zoe's booth till it passes. you could stand under Deme's eve's too..... but you'll be standing in 3" of water.
Dont forget the ever fashionable black trash bag lol. We always have a crowd in my shop during rains, it always cracks me up when there are one or two that make a run to the pub nextdoor
Besides, it can be fun to play in the rain. However, I recommend that if you do so, separate yourself from metal objects. ;D
And I'll have at least one extra cloak on hand ...
The armor has been through the rain and even a monsoon (well close enough) that is usually Saturdays Uniform of the Day! Sunday - Kilt or the new Leather Duster / Aragorn (work in progress) look. Either of the choices I only get soggy and do not melt in the rain!
Oh and the map I shall draw up is very simple - Pubs, Privies and the distances between them! Using the Keep It Simple Stupid acronym of K.I.S.S.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
(Must bring crayons)
Pubs... Centrally located Pirates on the east end, Dancing Bar (Only open during Beer and Wine Tasteing) Central/West end. And at the bottom of the hill next to the jousting
Privies down the hill in both directions from Pirates Pub and up the hill behind Zoe's pop stand. And then right next to the Elephants and by the front gate outside. And another that I always forget about near Puke and Snot at the top of the hill.
Map http://www.coloradorenaissance.com/Map.pdf (http://www.coloradorenaissance.com/Map.pdf)
So only 2.5 pubs? I say 2.5 cause 1 is only open during Beer and Wine Tasting.
you have the pirates pub and 5 others spots to get ale.......there is a total of 5 privies some are porta a couple are permanent ones.
Thanks The PTB! Multiple targets to paint for next year! LOL!

Lord Jarhead, while I admire your hearty attitude, you may wish to be aware that the rain of which we speak generally appears in the form of thunderstorms. The thunder, of course, follows the lightning, which on occasion has been most impressive. Lightning strikes on the festival grounds are not not at all uncommon. While the rain may not melt your armor, a lightning strike very well may, and is unlikely to do you a great deal of good in the process.
Out of the 50 states in the union, Colorado rates number 2 in the amount of lightning strikes. Florida is number 1.. But don't worry, most of those are above tree line and faire sit's at the 6900 foot mark with plenty of tree's. But that doesn't mean when lightning does come you stand under one, or stand in open ground. Last year we had 1 day it struck three spots on the ground. One near front gate (I was about 50 feet from that one and it scared the crap out of me, and scared those in the front gate even more as it wizzed right by them), One in the parking lot, and one by the kitchens.

And yes, I concur on the lightning warning...also if there is lightning in the area, don't stand near my booth, we have been struck more consistently than any location on site...

"There are many silly superstitions about lightning, and as a result many people - maybe even you - are terrified of it. You shouldn't worry. Thanks to modern science we now know that lightning is nothing more than huge chunks of electricity that can come out of the sky, anytime, anywhere, and kill you." - Dave Barry
BTW CO gang, congrats on Rendezvous for 2011! Almost forgot my manners there!

Coors supplies most of the libations, so...whatever they make...Light...uh...whatever. I don't drink Coors.
Also, Woodchuck Cider is available at some of the places, not all. Pirates Pub has it. And one other spot - but I don't remember where.
There is sometimes (always?) wine available at the food area next to the jousting arena. All the way at the end, in the corner.
There are two weekends on which there is free grown up drink at the Dancing Bear Pub. Usually for only a few hours and the lines are LONG. One is beer weekend, usually Father's Day and/or Military weekend, early in the season. The other is Wine Revelry, later in the season.

Her shop is close to the pub where they sell mead...
If whilst walking CRF with Blushing on any stormy thunderous flasheous morning or afternoon, AND you get hit by a bolt from the Mountainous heavens of Colorado, You will have in essence become one of her family, and will have to marry her! Still, you would have to SURVIVE the bolted Strike first!

The pub in between Italian Kitchen and Friar Tuck's Bakery serves Cider, beer selections, and frozen margaritas.

The pub behind the Royal Pavilion has lovely ladies that sell very tasty mead. My favorite bartender will always be "Beersabub" at the pub next to Italian Kitchen. She has Blue Moon, Wodchuck, Coors, Killian's, wine, and even soda and water on Gretel's side.
You should definitely find Avan though. He has some tasty "treats"!

At least I will have the courtesy, unlike a passing elephant on the parade route that drains patrons Coors cups almost instantaneously, and offer a refill. Though I have to give credit where credit is due. Who are we to question an elephant that drinks beer? In full armor as I will be on Saturday, the big one has me out weighed and proly out-armored too. Plus, they really have no place to hold money. As far as eating roses, hey, let them dine at a flowery chowhall says I!
So the score at the bottom of the 8th would be: Elephant - A Ton (no pun intended) / LJ - Not A Ton
HOWEVER, in the top of the 9th, needing just to prove who's armor and drinking ability out weighs the massive one (up and at 'em, Atom Ant!) LJ comes through and walks out the gate with Blushing by his side and waves "Bye Bye" to said Elephant! The game is the called due to lighting strikes (uses previous posts to my advantage) and LJ takes the series!
Enough of the off the wall thoughts! It is down to 23 days (to heck with a wake up call) and I shall walk your the lanes in your wondrous fair. I am blessed to be able to do so and look forward to meeting one and every each of you as you.

And I was thinking the off the wall thoughts were the point. ;)
We're looking forward to your visit ... and good luck finding all of us.

Hey get yourself back in here! Geeze, I am a Louisiana boy and the CO folks have been very kind and hospitable allowing me in here! It would be great to have you and everyone else I love by my side at all times. Yet, I gotta spread the love everywhere!

I agree! Plus WW posted a very nice "Send LJ back to me if you don't want him" post and now it's gone. What happened there?
From the RF forum Lexicon--
Post-pardon Blues - The awful way you feel when you have to say you are sorry for wenchmouthing in a post.

Yeah, I have a tendency to delete. Alot!
OK at the insistence of LJ via IM-----
Take good care of my LJ
Be just as kind as you can be
And if you should discover
That you don't really want him
Just send my LJ back home to me BARF
Now now boys and girls. Its all fun here

I wuv my WW! (using Elmer Fudd impersonation)
Yikes! The day of faire with lightning striking all around us??? I ran, fully corsetted to my car! My hubby was helping a friend get unlaced in the parking lot - one of those strikes was very close to them! That was also the day that ....*can't remember his name*.... was wandering around in full armor. He made a mad dash to get clear!
As for booze - the Pirates Pub has Captain Morgan on hand now too. They are the only pub that serves it there (at least as far as I know, that could have changed this year).
I'll keep the guest room open! And we're kid-friendly for anyone who is traveling with tots. I.e., the dog is gentle, we have lots of mac-n-cheese, and everything is breakable.
