On Thur Nite, my step-daughter was taken by ambulance, to a hospital complaining of abdomen pains. She had been uncomfortable since earlier that morning. She went with her Mother to visit her sister in North Dallas. Once at her sister, it got worse so she and her Mother went to a clinic thinking it was gas pains. From there the ambulance took her to the hospital. She entered teh 'system' at 8pm and my midnite they had CT her with contrast. She had an appendicitis and it had ruptured. The had her rushed into surgery and drained the puss and snipped the appendix. She was fine and they took her off Oxygen Friday afternoon. Her fever was gone and things were looking good. This morning, she awoke to fever and her O2 level was 70percent - her lungs were filling up with fluids. Put her back on O2 and and got her fever back down to 100, where it is hovering.
I need prayers and whatever you believe sent her way, please. She was so scared that she was calling up and apologizing to everyone because she thinks she is going to die.

UPDATE:
They have got her fever broken again. I am worried that the infection is directly related to her discharge from teh ruptured appendix. They cleaned it up, but I hope they have it under control this time. Her Mother is over there and is calling me every once in awhile. I thnk your prayers are helping lots.

Update:
Well, the doctor sent her home and she is back here... There is a 20% chance of reaccordance of this infection over the next week but we are hoping for a zero%. I would like to thank all the prayers and thought s and all for being put out there. I deeply appreciate how supportive this 'family' is toward others. Again, thanks SO much.

UPDATE:
She seems to be doing great but she is very sore (and not in a good mood in general). She has been out a few times so I think the worst is past us. She went to see her doctor this morning so when I know more, will re-update.

FINAL UPDATE (I hope):
They removed the drainage tube from here and cut back on the antibiolics due to a thing called a yeast infection (something I guess being male is nice). She is back upstairs in her room and putting around the house being her usual self (dang it; it was nice while it lasted).
So I am thinking that there will be no need for further updates and all.
I want to thank everyone though, for the feelings/prayers/thoughts/sympathy.
