This is a thread on another forum or two I'm on so I thought why not add it here: so, what's made your day today? Me, I made some damn good beignets for the 1st time & True Blood has returned-yes!
I went to the John Levique Pirate Days today with a friend, and we had a great time! Then I had rehearsal, where we were all basically laughing for 3 hours straight. Then I watched the Tonys and the latest episode of Drop Dead Diva. Overall, I've had an all-around terrific day!
My daughter and I picked out her VERY FIRST PET yesterday-a FIDDLER CRAB!! She said she wanted one of these a couple weeks ago and I said we couldn't do it because we couldn't afford the tank (even the little ones are like $20 bucks and we're on a restricted budget these days). But, on our weekly saturday jaunt through the garage sales, we found a 2.5 gallon tank set up for three bucks!! Add $2.66 for the crab, and now, my three-year-old has a pet which is amazingly entertaining, doesn't pee on the carpet, and won't shed or wake the neighbors- hooray!!
going home to my excited little puppy
Rob and I have been married for one year today. :)
Congratulations!
Given that it's Monday and I'm at work, and yesterday was the closing day of VARF, the list for yesterday is a lot more notable (and will probably be making my days for the next week, for that matter):
My friend Karl "saving" my second set at the Tavern Stage, where it was loud and noisy and people were ignoring me in droves; he came up and played guitar for our performance of the Irish Blues, and the audience came to life.
Me doing my best to return the favor at Tavern Sing during his performance of a Renaissance version of cluck Old Hen.
Several private performances and conversations under the dining fly for different families, generally breaking my character to bits and pieces answering questions about the internal workings of faire, do I around from faire to faire, am I paid, what do I do in real life, etc.
Having a cast member hunt me down and compliment me on my performance for the Queen's Arrival the previous day (then seeing that Kevin tag me in a photo he took of the performance and posted on Facebook, with me Riverdancing in my period sunglasses).
I'm alive again after 5 1/2 months (Chris having passed in December) thanks to support from Faire-mily. Met new friends, feel wanted and loved, and if not loved by one person in a long-term relationship anymore, at least found huggable by several!
Capt Marga
That is wonderful new Marga. I am sure things will improve from here on in. ;D
coming home and the first thing i is see when i drive up is my 8yo son waving, smiling and happy to see me. :)
btw - great thread idea! it's nice to reflect on the day, even if it's been a bad one and find something that makes you smile and possibly reduce the stress a bit. counting our blessings. :)
a phone call and a chat ;D
Hi....hmm...made my day?. Ok, on Sat. my friends K & M had their party, K's birthday party. Nice loud music in the basement (not my kind of music, but I go for the company, if you can hear over the noise). Steve was there. He was like "Omg., how are you/what're you up to?!" and __still thought I was cute [from back 15+ yrs ago when we dated, and I was 40 pds lighter], and he and K both gave me hugs and neck rubs.!!! squeeee!!! *fans self, cheeks are red**, whew!! being flirted with (while unhappily single) is sooooo nice. sigh.
While driving a guy on a motorcycle waved at me at the light ( i admit i was oggling) then as he drove off i saw him stand up and watched him attempt to drive while zipping up his fly. I couldnt stop laughing.
A friend, one who has shown loyalty again and again despite a certain reputation, walked in when the rest of the world walked out and helped me believe in and find myself. This happened last fall but every time I get a phone call or just a thought out of the blue, it helps make my day all the brighter.
Hearing that voice...makes everything ok.
After feeling like crap all day at work...go pick up my 19 mo old at his Memaw's and he wakes up smiling and gives me lots of hugs and kisses (he gives the best hugs and kisses!) Can't wait to do it again today

Congratulations!
Thanks!
Today: I successfully talked 2 upset parents down to the point that they were happy. Yay! It's not my favorite thing, but I'm getting better at it...
Having a place to come to for relaxation....it's nice.
Being able to see my sister and 3 nieces :D
My nieces give the best hugs and kisses too ;D
Having my boss tell me that yes, I can tell someone to go to hell, even if I can't use that exact phrase!
Having an interview and being offered the job before I left!!!!! WOOHOO!!!
Trillium, you're only allowed to be ecstatic in one thread at a time. ;) But, for your benefit, I present quantity one, high quality HUZZAH!
Really helping people at work. I helped a lady and her husband to the front of the park after her scooter broke down, and they were really thankful. And I watched the second Electric Light Parade with a little boy named Aiden, and I talked him through all the parts he was scared or really excited about. It was fun!
Great posts everyone-keep em coming! As for me, getting a lift to class by mom & not having to take the bus made my day!
Today we got confirmation that my bf and I got the apartment we applied for.
We have a moving date for the end of July and get this- our address is stonehenge circle apt 302
how cool is that.
im very excited.
Still waiting, today.... it hasn't been a bad day, but nothing has stood out as especially noteworthy.
I got Luna (my car) back today! She has been in the shop since May 18th...
Finally finished my move today!!! It's been incredibly long and grueling, and it was awesome to lock that old door and walk away...
And yesterday and the day before (because I'm just now finding this thread), marathon texting sessions... ;) :D
Getting the raise I have been waiting for.
The congressman who said to Tony Hayward: "I'm not interested in hearing how distraught you are." Amen!! :)
Just got notice of raise today... I sure didn't expect it in this economy, but it might cover part of the cost of going to RenDezvous next year.
Today I was offered the home infusion position at one hospital and turned it down because I already accepted the position in pediatric pharmacy at another hospital.
And the first hospital is willing to work around the second hospital's scheduling!
So...YAY! ;D
The Uk's Absolute Radio branch's new 90's station has finally launched!!! Yes-deffinitely made my day! ;D
I'm a day behind, but I promise to keep up from now on as I just found this thread....so.....
boxing, binding and burying the past......saying goodbye to the bad energy
that made my day yesterday.....we'll see what today brings
I started my day off in absolute pain already. But hubby was right there helping me even though he had to get to work. He always makes my day :D
What made my day was waking up this morning with the memories of a wonderful weekend up here at CORF.
A salesman knocked $60 off the price of a tool because I had sold his brother in law some spare parts cheap.
My phone rang. And my suck @$$ father's day disappeared.
Some pictures I received from Derbyshire.
Being told we get to leave here at 1pm instead of 4:45!!! ;D
Just got notice that the raise I got notice of 4 days ago has been vetoed by the state legislature. What makes my day is that I won't be paying more taxes on a raise because I'm not getting one. (Ok...I'm just trying to look at the "bright" side of a suck-eggs situation. A lot of folks are just looking for work.)
Having my boss jump through hoops in a changing environment to get my contract extended (again!) ...
Then being great, honest and open with me in revealing the risks and timelines ... after I told him I'm interviewing for a better opportunity elsewhere. And keeping the opportunity open as possible despite the risks.
Seeing a friend today in my front yard. She lives in Arkansas so it was a fun minute. ;D
The sound of a round chambering into my new .45... now for a target. ;)
the possibility of something new starting.
After a truly horrid day when my sole reason for being at a site was to allow the doctors use me as a punching bag because my boss was too timid to take responsibility for her own poorly conceived actions.....
I return to my car to find a note under the wiper blade:
Your right front tire is was flat I put air in it
No signature and it was pretty apparent from the different color that he/she came back and added air - and no signature means he/she CAN'T take responsibility for their wonderfully conceived actions.

That's awesome, Mehan!
The Pirate says he is willing to start cooking dinner 2 nights a week so I can get more sewing done. ;D
Granted this may have to do with him getting a new BBQ grill he wants to use all he can but hey I am not complaining that he wants to cook me dinner. ;)

Awesome Mehan....nice to have a special someone make your day a little brighter!!!
See you soon, hugs....
A.
This isn't for today, but yesterday, I went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with two of my friends in the morning, then we had Pei Wei for lunch, and spent the rest of the day hanging out and watching When in Rome and Driving Lessons, and had a round of Harry Potter trivial pursuit. It was awesome!
Job interviews scheduled for Friday and Monday plus a real nice thunderstorm. Yay!
USA finally getting a goal in the 91 min & advancing to the round of 16 in the world cup has deff made my day! All hail Landon Donovan & U S A, U S A, U S A-now let's go get Ghana! ;D
Made more beignets...turned out a bit different than last time, but still good! ;D
my son has been in uber huggy mode. i love hugs.
Celebrating my grandpa's 97th birthday! He amazes me...
Yesterday evening a storm was brewing as the sun began to set. The sky turned the most amazing shade of bright yellow. I felt as though I had stepped into one of those wonderful Italian renaissance painting. It was glorious. :)
today......starting the day off at work by saving someone from choking.....thank god for the first aid and cpr courses i took as a teenager
Leaving for the old homeplace today until saturday. That always lifts my spirits because it is so beautiful there and getting to spend time with family.
Walking into work on Wednesday, it's totally crazy, and a coworker looks at me and says "Thank gawd you're here! You're like a breath of fresh air." With that he took a deep breath, slowed down, and went about his day.
It made me feel really good. :)
feeling better than i have since sunday, may even get out of the house today....
Having a clean, repaired and repadded carpet, and knowing there is at least a work order in for the other repairs that need to be done...
My mom felt bad enough for me about her boss deciding to not pay me for the pillowcases I'm making for their entire preschool that she's going grocery shopping for me ("just email me everything you want me to get") and driving 2 hours to bring them to me (as well as the supplies for said pillowcases)...I love free food!
Fun new shoes, a *good* cup of coffee, and a fresh bagel for breakfast.
Our fairemly here at R/F - not only helped me figure out a solution to the problem, but Lady Bootlegger going over and above and getting the items for me and mailing them to me. They arrived save and sound and are perfect. Huzzah to LadyBootlegger and to all our fairemly.
Waking up with a smile, an amazing cup of coffee, and comfortable silences. :)
Waking up to a stress free but clean house (including sink), and knowing I have a weekend to sew for those I care about NOT because I have to.
Coming home to peace and quiet.
Wearing garb for the first time in forever and knowing that I'll be going home to Hollygrove sooner than it seems.
Getting to ride a horse for the first time in 11 years!
Seeing my daughters eyes light up when she saw her makeup for the Fairy Ball, and realized that she really did look like a Fairy...
My mom making her roast one last time before I leave for school again :) It was the best I've ever had
Waking up and realizing I'm one day closer to going to home to Hollygrove. This wait is killing me.
waking up and feeling almost 100% myself again....been a long week :)
enjoyed the first cuppa reading the paper on the patio with the girl cats. Even the black chicken cat who never goes out was slowly exploring a few feet from the door. I left it propped open so she could make a fast retreat when she spooks. Three yearling squirrels and a dozen sparrows were feeding under the maple and a crow cawing a couple yards away. Kind of a... Disney moment. Was waiting for the villain's dorkey henchman to show up and ruin the peace

Ahh! I want to go so badly. Some friends of mine drove from Houston to Orlando for the Night of a Thousand Wizards the other week. My boyfriend is turning 21 in October and I'm already planning his Harry Potter themed birthday ;D He loves it too. How was it?
It's pretty cool - I've been three times now. But it's also still super crowded. I finally waited through the whole cue for Forbidden Journey, and ate in the Leaky Cauldron. So I guess that means all I haven't done is Ollivanders, but I'm waiting until the line is less than 2 hrs.
Watching the video of my daughter singing Jingle Bells when she was 3y/o, for the first time in years, while I was cleaning out my mom's computer this afternoon... It made me tear up a bit, and it made her smile to realize that even then I loved to see and hear her singing...
New reading material! :)
Buying 13 new mix-n-match tops, bottoms, skirts and dresses for my daughter to start school in for under $45.00, total!!! Each piece is adorable, also!!! She's thrilled... which makes me very happy! :)
Having my sister be brilliant and help figure out my college schedule then have her freak out and ask me what the "death star" in her food was...it was star anise. :D
A new Sookie Stackhouse story, & 3 new medeval/ren era books have been released today-yea! ;D
The new Sookie Stackhouse is one of the books I got! :)
Up and resisting the urge to go back to bed.
waking up and remembering im on vac. and then going back to sleep
FINALLY getting that darn skirt pleated properly!
almost finishing my cloak ;D
Hey now! WHO is finishing your cloak? :D
I typed "almost finishing my cloak". I did at least saw all the pieces all you have to do is sew them together. :P LOL!
This is sad & kind of pathetic. I picked up my cat's ashes from the vet today and they informed me she was approximately 16 or 17 years old when I sent her over the bridge last week. It made me feel good that I had given an unwanted stray cat a home and love and made her life and death as comfortable as I could.
Got another book in the mail. :)
A new Foglio sketch in the mail! Yesss!!!
Sweet notes from friends. :)
Having careing co workers who actually listen to me instead of considering me less than a person for not being management.
Though a door closed on one thing this weekend, another one opened wider so that we can spend time with friends we had been missing badly. :)
What made my day? Hearing that Proposition 8 was just overturned in California, making same-sex marriage legal in CA once again. Judge Andrew Napolitano, commentating on Fox News, predicted that when this goes to the SCOTUS, it will most likely be 5-4 decision, holding up this decision. Which would probably strike down all same-sex marriage bans in the U.S. as being unconstitutional. Maybe my fiance and I will actually be able to get married *legally,* which, for living in Texas, would be awesome!!!
EDIT: Judge Walker *may* suspend his ruling:
QuoteDespite the favorable ruling for same-sex couples, gay marriage will not be allowed to resume immediately. Judge Walker said he wants to decide whether his order should be suspended while the proponents of the ban pursue their appeal in the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The judge ordered both sides to submit written arguments by Aug. 6 on the issue.

Spending time with my little cousin, who will turn 16 in a few weeks.
She will be driving soon...... :o
LOL!
Spending time with my sister! And drinking! ;D :D ;)
Amazing friends and plans every night this week!
Getting the final word that my daughter and I will be guest performers at King's Champion Medieval Faire in Tulsa, OK. next month!!!

Many thanks Rani and congrats on your news too! ;D
"meeting" someone I have worked with for nine years, but not seen in three. When I reminded him that we already knew each other and re-introduced myself he said "No, you can't be her, you look great!"
losing 70 pounds - pain in the butt...... hearing that? well.... pretty cool
Oh, how wonderful, Mehan!!! That's bound to make your day... every day!!!
Thank you, Lady, M! I'm pretty excited about it... :D
Getting my seat at college to complete my apprenticeship....total career change and going back to college at 45! Gotta love it!
If all goes well and I pass everything and I have all of my hours....I will have my chef papers sometime in June.
Talking to someone interesting.
last night made up for the past two days quite nicely... :)

The story above made my day because I can just see it happening.
Getting thank you's from the people I care about for caring enough about them to look after them when they can not do it themselves. ;D
5 minutes to close of faire and needing $49 to beat last years' 5th weekend Sunday. 1 minute to close and getting a $50 sale.
I was asked out to lunch by a colleague and actually LEFT THE OFFICE for an hour today!
A co worker bought me a soda for no other reason than I had always been nice to him and he thought I would like one. ;D
Getting school supplies rounded up, even though we're still not sure which school she'll be attending until we're notified by the board about the transfer request.
Driving home from work today, in all that traffic, with the highway being worked on, so there's only 1 lane & you're stuck behind trucks & people who crawl, & you just want to get home!!.......
On the side of the road just before you get to Galena, there were 2 young women holding signs that said, "Honk if you're smiling."
Well, you can't be crabby reading that! I think everybody was laughing while they were passing by.
coffee and a walk with a girlfriend
I'm flying home from Orlando to San Jose right now, and on the first leg (to Salt Lake) our flight was full and I got bumped up to first class! It was perfect - more room, free headphones, free movies, free food (with real dishes and silverware), excellent service.... I can only home my next flight makes my day nearly as much as that.
Two days late but: having over 30 people show up to my impromptu quiet birthday party, including my best friend from 32 years ago! I got more hugs, handshakes and kisses from that small gathering than I do on the last day of Faire (well, not really!)!
Coffee and air conditioning!
Having the first chef I ever worked with three years ago acknowledge me as "chef". My son was there and later said to me "did you hear that Mom, he called YOU chef"...........awesome!!!! ;D
Finding out that 50 Trekies invaded the show I costumed Sunday night, and they LOVED the whole thing. Costumes, props, set, acting everything. It is nice to feel appreciated. ;D
finally finding the prop I need to complete my character - which is needed for tomorrows Dress Press ;D
my puppy curling up in my lap while i checked my email this morning
Making pancakes with my renlet this morning, and "letting" her pour, crack, mix, ladle and flip everything, then seeing the pleasure she took in eating something she made herself... and still telling me "I love you, you're the best", even though she did almost everything herself! Even the dishes... :)
The tree falling down during the storm missed the house!
This horrid work week finally ended!
My poor sick "Overly Familiar" was feeling better and ate a lot today! He suffers from sinus trouble. It makes him not eat. Doing the happy dance. I hope he continues to improve.
Yesterday, while riding my bike to pay a parking ticket, I found concert tickets on the street.
Just learned my son and his girlfriend will be joining me at faire tomorrow!
BLT Saturdays!
And a lazy day planned in the arms of my love.
Got to mow the lawn while the temperature was still down...a cool 99 degrees...
Hearing we are supposed to have 70s for the next week. yay!!
Where are you? Can I come visit?? Our cold front is supposed to drop the high temps down to 92... This is almost as bad as the Summer of 1980.
getting the last load of moms stuff moved out of my house and into her very own. (she has lived with me for the past 3 years)
Seeing the wonder in my daughter's eyes when she realized that, with the right tools, her designs can become more like what she pictures in her mind, and that learning technique doesn't necessarily mean doing things the way someone else wants her to do them, it just means she is beter prepared to share her own vision with the rest of the world...
That's awesome Rani.
As for my day. Just getting out with people for a while. ;D
All's Faire put out episode 12...yes! ;D
My little girl (she's 18) is finally home from her summer vacation! I missed her.

Chris did that a few years back...in Shanghai and Beijing. He was telling us about how crowded Shanghai was. He got back home to NYC, came up out of Grand Central Station, looked around and wondered "where are all the people?"
getting dressed up and heading out with the girls dancing....so much fun
I spent the day yesterday at MiRF with my sister and her 9 year-old son. Their first Renaissance Festival ever, and they're already talking about garb for when they do it next year! I do so love corrupting the youth...
Found out we are going to be gone again for the weekend. Whoo hoo!! ;D
Buying a rocky horror shirt, some candy AND seamed stockings for $8 that have real seams, not flocking!
Enjoying the nice weather this morning and talking to my youngest daughter.
Driving home from the office, navigating the depths of uptown Charlotte, when I look over and see a Dad holding his little girl's hand, waiting to cross the street. The little one was decked out in pink socks, shorts, and sunglasses - wearing kitty ears...and looking completely "casual". Ridiculously cute kid! It put a grin on my face remembering such care-free days.

Only one because I only made one of three shots. :'(
Which means he made NONE of three! So I guess that sorta just made my day! LOL!!! =)
My friends coming over for a pool party ;D
After over 13 yrs. of being a fan,I finally met the member of my fave high school yrs. band I had a huge thing for...I'm still in a state of shock lol :o
feeling better and getting outside to enjoy the day today...as well as an awesome evening with my chick circle :)
Clan party!
Babygirl is getting brave with her learning to walk. She is so proud of herself when she takes a few steps that she stops to applaud!
The boots that broke unexpectantly which were going to cost $75 bucks to replace at least, are able to be easily repaired in 48 hours for less than $10 bucks. My big major head ache's are undercontrol. That made my day. :)
New phlebotomist in the lab that only had to stick me once to tap the vein, instead of the usual ones that always missed at least once, sometimes more... so no bruises this time. :)
I had to work today (which is annoying, because it would have been my one day off this week). And I had to work the long shift, which is 8:30am-4:45pm. And we were busy, and running behind, so I had to wait for our last pirate to finish up with their portraits after I was supposed to have left in order to ring them up. But, much to my surprise, our last pirate was a Rennie! She (and her parents) are regulars at Scarby, and frequently visit TRF as well. She even had on a Moresca Pirate bodice, and a nice skirt and chemise to match (most people over the age of 8 don't wind up dressing up for the League). So it turned an annoying day into a pretty pleasant one. It's always great to meet other Rennies. :)

An absolute sweet heart of a friend spent her evening helping me by hand stitching the lining on some dresses for me while I delt with a diva, and her gown. She is coming back tonight to continue to help as needed. I owe her chocolate for this. ;D
Spending a wonderful long lunch in the sunny afternoon with my fuzzy half. ;)
Great weather and it's Friday! ;D
We'll be at camp tonight.
My 18 year old leaving to her older sisters for the weekend. Yay!

Not arguing with my daughter at ALL. :)
Figuring out the front half of the ghillie sandal pattern I've been puzzling out lately, and having it actually FIT my renlet's foot, and being able to see how I need to change it to make the back part fit, as well!
Not worrying about tomorrow.
Finding out I'm getting into this for free... RECOIL ALAN WILDER OF DEPECHE MODE / ARCHITECT / CONJURE ONE RHYS FULBER OF FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY / EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL GUEST MARTIN GORE @ the Galxy Theatre in Santa Ana...yes! ;D
Watching the first Chilean miner emerge from their 68-day prison. Finally, something positive in the mundane world. I've grown so weary of the negative.
:) That's made my day too, Merlin. I'm so happy and grateful to see those men being rescued. What a miracle! :)
Hearing from all over the state that although there was a 4.3 magnitude earthquake this morning around 9am... there seem to be no injuries, and no major damage. Still waiting for aftershocks, and hoping there are none.
Chilean miner #26 has surfaced... I thank Gaia for releasing these men back to their families. I hope She continues her generosity until all are safe.
Update: All safe now. Very happy for them!
I'm in a meeting and we are asked to get up and speak off the cuff on the topic, 'what is special about October?' I talked 2 minutes about how Octorber is TRF month. Soon as the meeting is over I am tackled by another staff member. She was so happy she is not the only 'closet' Rennie in the building. ;D
LSS, she is new to Texas and didn't know about TRF. She is now trying to talk her boss into letting her leave early tomorrow so she can get to TRF this weekend.
Our dept won first place for in the pumpkin decorating competition. And I did the carving!!
Congratulations! umm..the carving was on the pumpkin, I hope...
heheheheheheh........ ;D
With a day like today? The ending of it... :P
My husband is coming home early from class! (i missed him all day..lol)
NOT having an earthquake...

Oh, yikes! Just a little one, I hope!!!
The shower scene from The Darwin Awards movie. I've never laughed so hard. Good movie.
Fun cast party filled with karaoke that made up for an 11hr workday.
Anticipating performing and printing out directions to my last faire of the year this weekend.
Seeing the smiles on my boss's faces as i gave them each a high hat cup cake ( IE devils food cup cake toped with a cherrym royal ice, and the whole top of the cup cake dipped in melted milk choclate, then chilled until it is hard. That way it 'cracks' as you eat it.)
I'm off today! ;D
Today is my 16 year anniversary!! :D

...Getting to wear my pirate garb to work tomorrow... ;D
I now have The Tudors final season & its Halloween! ;D
Stepping on the scale this morning and seeing - a great number, considering it was faire this weekend...
Seeing my house clean, and 90% of my stuff packed for faire this next weekend. IE fewer headaches for the approaching week.
Seeing a picture of an ex-girlfriend (http://poorlydressed.failblog.org/2010/10/30/fashion-fails-your-invitation-said-business-casual/#comments) on Fail Blog's - Poorly Dressed website...(http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c353/Knoty-Dragon/FUNNY/lol.gif)
The newborn baby down the street--she is related by marriage. Her mother was walking her in the stroller yesterday and stopped to chat as I was getting in my car.
She was in the nursery ICU unit when she was born. I told mama that I had made her parenteral nutrition bag and she gave me a big hug and a thank you!
And I got to hold the baby too.
It was wonderful to see her healthy and just beautiful!
How you are having the worst day in a long while and can be near tears in how down you are, and then have one person do something that turns those tears of saddness into tears of utter laugher thus saving your day and your mood.
{{{ hugs to the the uspecting people who unknowingly make someone's day}}} :D :D :D :D
Making an 82 on a test. Not as good as my last one but I'll take it. Hooray for our side as my Granny would say.
Waking up and NOT feeling like death for the first time all week! Actually enjoying the sunshine instead of hiding from it, and being able to talk to people without feeling like I'm spreading the PLAGUE!!!
I want to LIVE!!! (I wasn't so sure there for a couple of days...) :D
Harry Potter.
Sleeping on a new bed for the first time in centuries! (...or so it seems...) AND hearing that Rani is feeling better. {{wizard hugs}}
I'm reading The Crucible with my juniors and just finished reading and watching Act III. We finished early today so I gave them some free time. Their topic of discussion? How they'd kill Abigail if given the opportunity and how much of a schmuck John Proctor was because this was all his fault
*proud teacher moment*
Getting a full-time job offer at Bank of America! Great pay, Great Benefits, a boss I'm eager to work with, and all those bank holidays - PAID! YEAH BABY! ;D
My new hat will be here in time for closing weekend! *YaY*

My bf being sweet to me all the time. I'm getting so spoiled. He cooks, takes me to the movies (Harry Potter!), even bakes me cookies!! LOL!!
My husband made my day by making breakfast for me! Plus, we got to hang out all day and have a lazy day before we head off to TRF tomorrow morning!
Someone taking the time to send me a message saying they read my published writings, and enjoyed them! First time anyone who has read the book has mentioned it to me... and it's made far more than just my day!!! :D
Opening your email and finding a commission from 7 months ago finally sold for more than I expected. ;D
Waking up NOT feeling depressed!
I got an email response that I've been waiting for all day! Oh and our new furniture was delivered to our home-I'm actually typing this from my new comfy bed! ;D

Congrats and best of luck!
This is everything that has made my last two days:
Yesterday, I went to the Disney Christmas Parade taping (day 1), and got a free cd because the antlers I made stood out so much; and got to see Amber Riley (Mercedez on Glee) perform right in front of me. She is sooo insanely talented!
Today, I went to the filming again, and watched Mariah Carey taping her new Christmas single, then watched the taping of the whole Christmas Parade, and then watched Mariah do All I Want For Christmas is You. Afterwards, I had rehearsal for the taping for tomorrow morning (I will be singing in a choir that backs up the 10-yr old opera singer), and we got our places - assuming I'm not moved, I should be 6 people over from center. Then when I got home, I found that my midwinter exchange gift had arrived!
And the weather both days ranged from 49 to 68 degrees. In Florida. Love it!
So overall, a pretty good time. Oh, and watch for me on Christmas Day at the Disney Christmas Parade. Because I'm pretty sure I will be on camera at least once!
Wow! Exciting days lately! Congratulations to everyone!!!
Thanks! Conan O'Brien wearing jeggings...funniest thing I've ever seen... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhXDgCVuTaA :D
Ok, now that's just FUNNY!!! :D
Isn't it? My head hurt from laughing when I 1st saw it :D
Spending time with my daughters :)
Watching my actors bounce and snuggle in the costumes I made them. And the pure joy on one girl's face as she twirled in the 1.5 circle skirt I have her wearing. Then adding the VER Y poofy petty coat under it, and watch her just be giddy.
All in all, knowing your hard work in appreciated. ;D
Getting something done with that has been hanging over my head. My spirit feels much lighter.
Having a small snort of Gentleman Jack, while listening to Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas and watching my daughter and youngest son decorate the Christmas tree.
The name I drew for Christmas is really easy to buy for.
Someone dressed as nice as this young lady asking me if I'd take a photo with her last Saturday at Dickens. ;D

Thanks, Merlin. Someday our paths may cross and I'll hold you to that free lunch! And yes, much to my chagrin, it doesn't take much to make my day... :-[
They just might, Bob O... our son lives in your general neck of the woods—Brooklyn—and he wants us to do the faire up there sometime.
Today, my day was made because Nim got her time off and we're set for Sherwood Forest and Scarby! Opening weekends for both!
The box office manager wanted to know if I wanted more hours! My part-time job is quickly becoming closer to full time! ;D And it doesn't hurt that I love working at the theater :D
Running around outside the house lighting all the luminaries on the paths. LOL, I felt like a little kid. :)
Going to the mailbox to pick up my paycheck - then finding a refund check from my health insurance company! YAY! ;D
A phone call from my oldest daughter.
My brother passed away a month before TRF started. He was a big "Royal Gardsmen" fan and had all of their albums. So this morning on my way to work, just by chance I switch radio stations in the car and the first song I heard was "Snoopy's Christmas" by the Royal Guardsmen. Thanks Mike....
I'm glad you caught his message to you, KotB. :)
I have a couple of weeks of made days...our son arrived from NYC for a two-week holiday visit. ;D
Getting a small box of See's truffles & $50 from my internship dr. as a xmas gift... ;D

Knowing I don't have to work again this year beginning tomorrow!!! Happy Holidays!!!
Being done shoveling the sidewalk. :)
Watching the eclipse last night with my little girl, and pointing out a few of the constellations to her... just like my daddy did with me. He passed on a very long time ago, when I was still a little girl, but this is one way that I can see the continuity of the generations, and share a little of her grandpa with her...
That was what started my interest in Greek and Roman mythology, as well... and so I'm telling her about some of the legends behind the naming of the constellations.
Awesome, Rani...
What made my day was the work portion of it ended (and a horrid work day it was!), and I don't return to the office until after New Year.
I got to have dim sum today! And my brother (who arrived home from college yesterday) and I have been getting along (which is something that never used to happen) and we even watched the eclipse together last night.
Just had a wonderful cap to the day from a long-distance friend who had some kind words... Thanks, W.
Well, it was Sat. night, but the feeling remains: holding my now 8 day old 2nd cousin ;D
The fact that me and my sister both made funny faces to the guy staring at us. ;D

literally roll on the floor at one of the songs I posted today!!! :D Can't post it here, though!!! heheh
My BIL brought me molasses marranitos (piggies) from the panaderia. Call me happy .... nomnomnom.
Mmmmm. A nice hot cup of soup was just the ticket on this damp day.
I won a trip at work. Four days, three nights, airfare & hotel for 2 to my choice of locations: San Diego, Las Vegas, New Orleans, or Nashville.
Steve & I chose New Orleans, but don't have travel dates yet. It was a good day today!
Got my Android smart phone today! Time will tell if it's actually smarter than me... but it already seems to be smarter than the network that operates it, since they are too busy updating their system making sure it can read my phone's serial number to actually activate the phone itself! Call back in an hour...
I have to wait another whole hour, after waiting all afternoon, to play with all the cool things my new phone can do?!? Gaaahhh!!!

Take New Orleans for sure! I'm going to try to go there this fall.
My day was made by being pretty painfree all day, getting off work early, having a great session with my physical therapist, spending the rest of the afternoon with my husband, and last but not least getting a new dining set... for free ;D.
Crawfish an a beer
Waking up to find my bird spinning in a circle after he tried to untie his bell. I had to help him off cause he got dizzy haha.
I was asked by the big wigs to speak at a meeting of my peers IE in front of about 100 people. I managed to do it , modivate them to action, and make some good network connections. Even if I kept dropping all my papers afterwards, I didn't care. I did an amazing job and feel great about my acomplishment. ;D
Feeling like I'm about to catch up, for the first time in 4 years. It's hard being a staff of one in a position that would support at least two full-time people (and did, until the other one left).
A CLEAN house!!!
Had a great time seeing Peter Murphy...that man has way too much energy lol Wish he could spread the wealth. What a show! ;D
Sunshine and at least halfway warm.
Free pizza for lunch!

Awwww... LadyK, she's beautiful!!! Congratulations, Grandma!
Aww!!! Lady Kathleen! She's adorable!
...My day has been made by the fact that I got my whole work area cleaned and organized, then immediately walked home and started cleaning and organizing the apartment...not too shabby...
Congrats on the beautiful granddaughter! :)
My day was made when my son stopped in to visit.
Aww that is the cutest baby! Congrats!
The extremely intelligent, cultures guy in my drama class with a great sense of humor. He gives me hope for the going gentlemen my age. I love that class in general but having people who are passionate But not snobby about theater is wonderful.
FIRST DAY OF SPRING!
Rain! ;D
My nephew's laugh and yes, snuggling down into the covers last night and listening to the rain.
Being reminded by 1 of my books that apparently 1 of the places to meet hippies is @ Ren faires/festivals...yet another reason I love 'em lol :D
Getting everything done early so later I can just curl up with a book.
It's my birthday! This morning, some of my castmates surprised me with yummy treats, and then when I got home, I opened a present one of my really good friends had sent me - It's the How to Train Your Dragon dishware set, and the How to Train Your Dragon book! I'm soo excited!! ;D
Happy Birthday! :)
I've been getting all kinds of Birthday greetings today.
My Birthday is usually the worst day of the year for me. Anything bad that is going to happen, usually happens on that day.
And since today isn't my Birthday. Getting all the greetings, while strange and I don't know how they started, does seem refreshing.
Ferret
At least you didn't get cut up into little pieces, Ferret... happy non-birthday. And Happy Birthday to you, Lady Rebecca
Happy Birthday Lady Rebecca! And okay, happy non-birthday to Ferret who currently isnt in pieces.... ;)
Earlier today the thought of a book made my day but was pre-empted by a phone call from my oldest son. :)
Happy Birthday, Lady Rebecca! Glad it was a fun one!!!
And Ferret... I think your friends just jumped the gun a little. One of them wanted to get an early start on the wishes, and everyone else just assumed that today was the day, instead of 4 days from now... ;)
Having a good friend stand up for me when I wasn't able to. :D

Having a clean house. :o
I got to hang out with my parents today. I missed talking with my mom. We carpool every morning, but at the same time, it's nice to talk to each other when we aren't on the way to work! lol...
Jena Malone as Rocket in Sucker Punch :P
Talking to my english pen pal who only writes when he's high or drunk. It's always interesting.
Just learned my daughter is coming for a visit this weekend! :)
Finished work and am gathering stuff for trip to Scarby Preview!
Watching this bald eagle cam (http://www.raptorresource.org/falcon_cams/index.html). Two out of 3 eggs hatched over the weekend...super cool & cute!
3 lolita style dress requests within 24 hours!
Interesting people ;D
Finding out that fate had it made for us to go to Faire on Saturday rather than Sunday...there seems to have been something we shouldn't have been involved in...so, fate made Davens have Saturday off, and we went then instead of the day of constant facebook statuses of how awful Sunday was...
Ah, finding out you were there on the good day...
And strawberry daiquiris.
I packed up almost everything in my car, made it to the post office, and even got 1 hr in at Harry Potter at Universal before the park closed. Yay for one last butterbeer!
No major problems in my absence, and none expected in my up-coming absence.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. Now they are dancing and pretending to lasso each other, "This sounds like cowboy music. I like it." Goofballs.
A text from one of my sons early this morning. At first I was a little ticked to be woken up but "I love you Mom" made that fade pretty quickly. :)
Yeah...just when you think you've got them figured out, they go and do something nice...rotten kids ;)
*imaginary like button*
Unfortunatly if I did that to my mom...I work with here...I'll leave it at that...
Anyway...
My cat is the craziest, coolest, oddest thing I have ever seen...*blinks as she watches him swat his toys off the windowsill and then eat a bug...* It makes me smile when he goes random.
Woke up early this morning excited about faire. Was able to do my morning routine, AND get in a bunch of sewing I was going to do tonight. I ALSO got have a long pampering shower, and had time time to pamper myself this morning.
I'm also only working a half day today, and spending the rest of the day with the PP. ;D
Oh, also, the PP is 'dragging' me to the fabric store to get him new stuff for his garb for tomorrow. Plans to be a nice day. :)

Had a wonderful birthday with both my kids and their significant others coming over for a dinner out and and an evening of good fun. :)
French toast for breakfast and campus smells like faire. <3
The sun and lots of happy birthdays on facebook. (lol, though my birthday was sunday!!)
I stopped off in Oklahoma City on my way back to CA, and I got to see so many of my really good friends from school. It's been quite wonderful!
Oh, I wish I'd known you were going to be here! I would have taken you out to lunch!!!
Well, I'm still here, but only for a couple hours more.

What's made my day? Feeling like my old self...before my parents divorce...when I made people laugh at the random stuff that would come out of the tips of my fingers and onto the key board....it's a nice feeling...
Gauwyn of Bracknell did!
He let me know that Gaelic Storm will be returning to Dubuque, IA's Irish Hooley on August 27th. They weren't there last year, hence, I didn't go, but they definitely are NOT to be missed!
Thanks G of B!!!! ;D
This bottle of Moscato D'Asti is REALLY making my night! =D
A long & eventful day but getting more "tree hugging hippie crap" muzak for Record Store Day & meeting the really nice Greg, music director of True Blood, made my day! ;D
Attending Oklahoma Steampunk Expo 2 days in a row! Lots of fun, and some awesome Steamy stuff!!!
One of our big repeat customers who already owns several of our higher-end games just Emailed that he's wants to buy my big "Tables of the Four Seasons" game table!!!
Woohoo!
Beautiful table. :) Congratulations on the sale!
A long visit with an old friend we hadn't seen in years...
A nice closing day at faire where I got to see a lot of people...
Watching my son get wenched by IWG Local 21--and the Queen stopping to get in on the action! ;D
I know this sounds really stupid, but figuring out how to solve a math equation really made my day.
Being asked to participate in next years OK Steampunk Expo!
Seeing John in Austin.
I got to hang out at Disneyland all day yesterday with one of my best friends, who I hadn't seen since graduation in Dec 09!
Gigantic, steamy, delicious Chai latte with soy milk... :)
Puppy kisses. I woke up a little grumpy but when the dogs acted like they hadnt seen me in YEARS and I was their favorite person in the whole world, it brought things into perspective, lol. :D I am so glad to be a dog person.
Coming here and pestering Merlin the Elder. Yeah simple pleasures. ::)
Buying new shorts two sizes smaller. :)
Oh!....I have two today. This glorious reprieve in the weather. It's been so hot, but just in time for my weekend two days of beautiful weather. The trees are abloom...the water is the perfect temp..a drive along the key and dinner at a favorite shack. Like a mini vaykay. :)

The first cut into new fabric to make something beautiful from it. And knowing it will bring a smile to someone's face when I am done.
Just... stuff. Fun series on Netflix, two performers from OK Steampunk Expo using my photo's of them for their official facebook page avatars... and getting to talk to a friend again after not being able to for a while. :)
I was so worried about the vet coming out to give the dogs rabies shots because I never know WHO my Chow/Akita is going to like. But that part of it went very well! As it did with the dachshund. And even though my German Shepherd was kind of a butthead, at least I am glad to see he would do anything to protect me. :) Plus he DID listen, though grudgingly.
Got a promotion from RA to Senior RA! Plus I'll be working in the same dorm this summer and next fall/spring so I only have to move once!
Also, back to teaching tango tonight. :)
On this day 44 years ago, I asked a beautiful young lady to accompany me to my high school's presentation of "Teahouse of the August Moon." What made my day today was the kiss that very same beautiful woman gave me this morning.
Happy First Date Anniversary, Merlin and Nimue! You two have to be one of the most romantic couples I've ever known... and that's such a wonderful thing!
I'm pretty sure this has made my day, as well... ;)
Well, that... and this whole spring thing! :D The weather is wonderfully cool and cloudy, and there was even a sprinkling of rain this morning! The birds are going nuts outside my window, everything it green and growing... and I'm beginning to think even the bees might be doin' a little dance somewhere close by. ;) I'm certainly getting a surge of creativity from somewhere!

Inappropriate comments from my bestie. I was feeling really down and depressed and he cheered me up right away lol
A wonderfully sweet email from my best girl friend (My best freinds is the PP :) sappy but true). These last couple posts made my day lol
It was 47 degrees when I got in the car this morning.
Being able to get motivated this morning and got a lot of work done.
Some good laughs on here.
A few smiles... a wink or two... maybe a grin here and there... and a whole lot of laughing! :D
I don't know what you'd be laughing about. This is some serious stuff! Exploding Port-o-potty, drunken Scots, naked gypsies... yes, very serious stuff!
Oh that's RIGHT. Composes serious face and wonders if Rani will do so too. ;)
Yesterday at work, we were told we could dress up to celebrate the royal wedding. Of course, the Countess of Wessex made an appearance:

1. Meeting the new neighbors, who, at this point in time, seem really cool. The guy is similar to Davens and girl is similar to me! Awesomeness! I might have friends here soon! XD
2. Watching Sir Tucker the Kitten try and get the mouse out of the spinny toy by grabbing it with his teeth and dragging the whole thing! That mouse is driving him nuts! Just got the toy less than 24 hours ago and he's played with it more than any other toy!
Filling up for $2.86/gal instead of the going rate of $3.99/gal. Had to drive halfway to Elk River for the deal, but it was worth it!
That i'm still standing up and breathing, leaving me ahead of the game. Other than that? nothing.
Found out today that my mom and I will be trying to hit a trifecta of Ren Faires in Texas next year!(if we are able to purchase a new RV this year).
Sherwood, Scarby and TRF. She's really excited and on-board with my addiction, which is a pleasant surprise. While it's several months away, I am still extremely excited and this gives me loads of time to learn and purchase (or figure out how to make) the garb I want to wear!! :D *happy dance* Plus gives me loads of time to save up some coin for vendor items I can't live without. ::) Totally made my day! ;D
I finished my math test review! The downside to that is that I now have to study it for the rest of the weekend, as my math test is on Wednesday.
Had my 1st glass of mead @ faire yesterday! ;D It was pretty good...
That its just going to be a very quiet day today.
...that I think I have the flooding problem under control...we'll see. Another 3.5 inches of rain due this morning.
Just had a call from my daughter talking about prom next weekend. It makes me smile to see her so caught up in it.
Worked on a design project yesterday as a surprise for a friend... and not only was it approved, but it will likely be seen by lots and lots of folks at Faire this fall!
So even though I'm feeling lousy today... I'm still smiling. :)
Another couple of things that made my day better. Got some household work out of the way that I have been putting off forever. And a bubble bath.
Plus, this hasnt made my day YET but True Blood and Game Of Thrones on tonight.
Flood control held...mostly.
May sound silly, but I found the bottom of my purse. ;D It's been driving me nuts to find anything in there, but I took the time to clean and I now have a bottom to my purse. Now if only people would stop saying, "Hey, hang on to this for me." /sigh

Oh, I do too... I'll regret it eventually, but we'd sure enjoy it for a few years anyway... we may have to take in boarders in a few years... ;D
But really, if we can make it happen, it will be so cool! Our architect has designed us screened-in porches on bottom and top floors, both looking out onto a wildlife preserve. A long-time band-mate, and also the dean of the college I work in, lives next door. That part could go either way... :D
Getting back home, walking in the door and the dogs acting like they havent seen me in YEARS. ;D

Early morning renmail... again. ::) :D
I had birthday flowers from my husband delivered to me at work today. They are beautiful.
Things being very peaceful around here, even the dogs are calm. :)
Realising that I could leave at 4. YAY!
Finding out that there will be rather more Fairemily around this weekend than I had realized! And having less than 18 hours until I will be seeing many of them!!! :D
My son coming to help me mow the lawn then taking me out to lunch.
I got into the class I really really wanted at Costume College!
Finding out may garb is too big! ;D
Wish i had figured this out before arriving at faire but still after it being too tight being 2-3 inches too small is great!
Congrats Becky :)
My day was made by spending a couple hours outside planting some more lilacs. Going to have a lilac hedge around the whole property eventually! :)
Waking up sore all over, and realizing it's because I had such an awesome time this weekend at a new (to me) Faire, filled with wonderful Fairemily!!!
Getting the call that I got the job (after finding the now new manager of mine was at this past weekend's pirate frestival) and then being able to go home early (from the first job) and starting to listen to the Bawdy Boys Dirty Album. XD
Knowing I have a short work week AND that 3 big clutter things that have been clogging up my work space in the garage are going to be GONE by the end of the week.
Now if we can only sell our two 100mpg scooters, everything will be out of the way. ;D
After 5 months of fighting with the stockroom and the company, I FINALLY got my bacteria! Definitely don't want to mess up and kill the bacteria before I get a chance to do anything with it.
Do you think you can wait for other lab rats to show up? I've been watching some of the bacteria posts you've made (I'm a science geek....) and I'd hate to see it be messed up by nerves after all you've gone through to get it! And what will you be doing with it? (Just wondering.....)

I'm definitely waiting until I can get someone who knows what they're doing to help me! And it's Brucella ovis, a venereal disease in rams and red deer causing low sperm counts. I'm going to be looking at a specific sequence in the DNA that possibly controls virulence and resistance to oxidative stress. Once I grow the bacteria, I'll be sequencing the DNA and amplifying the one sequence. After that I'll probably knock out that gene sequence and hit the bacteria with some oxidative stress and see what happens. :)
Spending time with my sweet Prince Charming. :)
Knowing my Prince Charming will be home from overseas in 9 more days :)
My son let me sleep till 10. He is normally up at 7:30 8 ish
The Apocalypse was postponed so that Nim and I could celebrate 39th anniversary...
The PP took me out to an amazing dinner last night, then to pirates 4. We had spent the day together, shopping, going to lunch at In and Out Burger. And just enjoying being together. Then add in that we go to Scarby today, and get to stay late. Fun fun wonderful couple days. ;D ;D ;D
Seeing The Blue Man group and friends. <3
Walking in the door after being gone since Friday afternoon, to my dogs and NO OTHER PEOPLE!!!!!
A wonderful day at CTRF, which isn't my home faire, but still running into lots of people and performers that I know!
A co worker shows up at your office door with a nearly new diaper gennie, with lots of supplies, and coupons in case you need more. She doesnt' need it anymore, and thought to bless me with something that had blessed her. Doesn't want anything in return for it other than to make sure we have a happy baby. ;D
This is actually from last week --- Got my Roku hooked up, my Amazon Prime Account activated, and began re-watching a lot of the old "Classic" Doctor Who episodes from the 1960's & 1970's. I'll be watching the new (post-2005) Doctor Who episodes soon, and get caught up to the current season.
For today --- Activated my Netflix account and began watching some George Burns & Gracie Allen TV show episodes. :D
Take Care,
David Baldock
We started watching some old Burns and Allen episodes a few weeks back... they were fun, but they didn't hold up as well as some things, in my opinion (and I had always enjoyed them when I watched them in the 50s). Watch the Dick Van Dyke Show. Those have held up amazingly well. A friend made fun of me because I said I had always thought Mary Tyler Moore was hot... Forgive me. I'm OLD! ...and I still think she was hot... The original Twilight Zone is on Netflix streaming too....

My first exposure to
Burns and Allen was in re-runs that aired in the mid-1980's, when I was at Electronics Tech School at Texas A&M. It must have been on a cable channel, but I don't remember which one.

That's one of my all-time favorite TV shows. I remember when Nick-at-Night had a marathon showing of all 158 episodes during a one week period in the 90's.
Good Grief! The forum changed the name of Jerry Van Dyke's brother?!? Okay, moderators... can we ease off a little on the restrictions, or take more threads behind the login?? This is worse than grade school! </rant>
David, though the earlier B&A shows were before my time, by the end of the series, I'm guessing I was seeing them first run. I really think the later ones were probably better. Nim and I have laughed our collective arses off watching the D. Van Dyke Show, though. It was just some incredible writing. If you didn't see the pilot (Carl Reiner had the starring role), you should see it. The show would not have lasted with him starring. But his writing for Van Dyke and MTM, et al, was impeccable.
The possibility that the situation might not be quite as bad as I was afraid of... and that maybe I haven't lost something important, after all.
Finally figuring out my ten-year plan.

You mean Richard Van Dyke? Yeah I've had so many problems with that. He's one of my favorite actors too :(

The sun has shown its face for the first time in a week!
Just... warm fuzzies. :)
A clean house.... that has stayed that way for a whole week! Getting a grasp on *me* again and finally feeling comfortable in my own home again. No stress, no worries, just sanity. Thank goodness!
A thread on the forum led me to look up some old bands and songs that I'd forgotten about... nice memories!
Discovering cleaning out the basement was not quite the big chore I anticipated. :)
Getting some more tomato plants into the garden.
And it being a sunny day. I am definitely more energized!
Finally getting to have a really long conversation, with a really good friend, after not being able to talk much at all for several months. It was nice... :)
My other half took me to see The Hangover 2 this evening!
playing with my playful puppy this morning
finding out I'm working with 3-4 of my favorite actors again this summer. And the fact that part of my research requires that I look at guys in tight leather pants, and shirts open to their naval doesn't hurt either. ;D
YES. Quiet, quiet, quiet. :)
School's out! No more alarm clocks for the summer!
I'm sure I'll be ready to trade that back in for some peace and quiet around here in 2-3 weeks, but for a while it will be... bliss. I never sleep well when I know there will be an alarm in the morning, no matter how pleasant I try to make it...
Took today off (4 day weekend!), slept in until 8 AM (normally up at 4), went to see POTC4 (loved the Easter egg at the end) and am getting ready for Flavorfest tomorrow. The event is held on the grounds of the PaRenFaire... lots of food, wine and beer... plus free admission. I'm bringing one of my battery powered bubble machines since this is not a Ren event. ;D ;D ;D

Having my lil glue Italian Greyhound finish her AKC Championship today!
Received my papers for completing my Red Seal today. Woohoooooo!!! I have just spent the last year and a half completing my apprenticeship as a cook. This paper will allow me to walk into any restaurant in Canada and that chef will know what I know. It has been an amazing almost 2 year journey to change careers at 46.
Congratulations, Hausfrau Monica!
A interesting talk with my cousin this morning. I had just woken up and stumbled out the front door to take the little dachshund to the bathroom, so looked a WRECK. She was just getting home from doing chores so came over to have a bit of a chat.
I dont know how I got my brain kicked into gear but it was a good conversation that has made me laugh all day so far.
Had a blast today making bubbles at Flavorfest, held on the grounds of the PaRenFaire... used 5 gallons of bubble soap! And the Queen hugged me and kissed me on the cheek... actually it was Kelly Morris, who played Queen Elizabeth I there in 2008 and 2009. When she portrayed the Queen, she found the bubbles of my Renaissance Bubble Machine most amusing and even sent her Guards over on occasion to play in them. She was most enamored of my electric machine and the volume of bubbles it puts out. It is good to be a favorite of the Queen. Huzzah, what a day! ;D ;D ;D
spent two awesome days at scarby with my sister, best friend, and made a new best friend! EXCELLENT WEEKEND. ^_^ now for an excellent nap!
Getting the air conditioners up and running and glad I had the help of my youngest son in doing so!

Just a couple of words... ::) :)
Watching my sister and her class at the adult learning center do a play. They were all so excited and did a great job.
What made my day was 1) waking up pain-free, 2) making members at work smile and/or chuckle, 3) seeing my husband at lunchtime, 4) getting my new bodice chiller, and last but not least 5) getting our tickets ordered for MnRF.
Now it's time to head out for my date with my husband.... "the icing to today's cake".
Riding down the elevator with a coworker i heard him say "you .... floss...daily? it shows" What!!??!! I asked, "did you just ask me do I floss daily?" "Oh" he said, "No, I said, you have lost a lot of weight lately, it shows" "but, I am sure you floss daily too, I just hadn't noticed". Thanks... I think....
Finally I get to post here Been waiting for that spectacular really cool thing to share and it happened. First on the dash of my truck is a shoulder dragon which garners strange looks on a regular basis but is well worth the interactions such as this. I was getting in my truck after stopping for coffee when I hear Hey mister I got a dragon too and mines real bet yours is just a toy (this being said by a young ladd of 6 or 7) I reply in my mundane voice that my dragon is indeed real and his name is Magic (this said as I reach inside to grab Magic to show the boy, without thinking about it as I grab Magic Me Irish accent kicks in and I ask) Would ya be liking to take a look at me dragon young sir? As he took Magic in his hand he replied with a much better accent then mine I guess he is a real dragon after all sorry I thought he was a toy. As i bid the young sir a good day I could not help but feel that once again Magic had done his job creating a Mag ical moment.

Welsh Wench and Jade both... (Don't even think it, Rabbi! ;) )
My thoughts are always as pure as a newborn lamb. (Not my fault it was a blacksheep)
Wishing Mad Jack WOULD make the joke...
As far as what has made my day? The beautiful weather we have had. (For ME that means almost a week of temps not above 80!!! ;D )
Our entire jury selection group getting sent home without anyone getting selected! WOOHOO!
Getting enough sleep for the first time in a very long time! And finally figuring out what's been causing the problems with my feet...
Riding down the elevator with a soft spoken co-worker and several unknown folk between us. Co-worker mumbles "you....... floss......*ly? "looks late".
What???? I replied. "Do I floss daily - I'm late?!?"
Speaking up he says "No, I said you've lost a lot of weight lately, looks great. But, I'm sure you floss too".
Made me feel pretty good AND we all got a laugh - double whammy.
i finally have a partner in my work for the theater who is competant, actually does the work he says he does, and great guy all around to work with. for once it is an actual 50/50 split on work. It is wonderful I finally get to be "creative" on some of the items I do. It is a wonderful feeling to see my To do list for the theater actually dwindeling each day, and I still get to go to bed at 10PM. No more staying up to midnight just to have things done in time for opening. AND i still get time to be with my friends and family. I'm actually enjoying doing my work while actually doing it.
Having a GORGEOUS late spring day with an awesome cool breeze blowin' throughout th' house! I'd LOVE to bottle this weather for later in the summer! ;D
Lounging outside for an hour in the sun and reading a good book.
Something small... but very special. :)
My pup is finally picking up on commands and is figuring out the whole housebreaking business! ;D
My son passed 10th grade.

All the household chores being done already!
Taking less than an hour to clean the kiddos room!
Taking the protectors off my little tomato and pepper plants and finding out they are growing in leaps and bounds! ;D
telling the dog to lay down and go to sleep and she lays down and cuddles close to you
Going to my cardiologist this morning and finding out that my mechanical heart valve's warranty is still good. ;D
Getting to use my new jeweler's bench block for the first time, and getting the hang of it right away!
And... helpful instructions for fixing something that's been bothering me lately... even if they're not really instruction I can actually USE. :D
And reading that Merlin's ticker is still ticking away like clockwork! ;)
Watching the vintage Mustangs drive past my house on the way to the Mustang Rally!
plenty of purdy cars crusin' by!
seeing things on to do list get ticked off
Knowing I have wonderful family coming to visit that love me.
Not being stressed over my current theater show. :)

(Prior to the catastrophe with the valet) Having an impromptu picnic with my daughter under the arch in St. Louis. Was fun to do something unexpected with her. :)
Getting a box full of the baby clothing that my grand mother, and other long lost relatives had made for me when I was little from my mother who is just now finally starting to talk to me again.
Baby steps towards a hopefully nice outcome.
A peaceful hour (between storms) weeding in the garden. Phone calls/visits from four of my children.
Good news that's just about to make me completely unbearable for everyone else. ;D
Seeing the sun rise over the desert with my two best friends. ;D
Being trusted with secrets... ;) :D
That took me 7 minutes to catch ha!
Teasing my niece and nephew. :D
Good 69 cents songs on iTunes, baseball game tonight, concert tomorrow night...
21 month old nephews good bye kiss ;)
For what it's worth, the royal couple have just arrived in LA... :)
Uncontrollable smiles. ;D
The kind that happen without even trying... something happens, then you realize you're grinning like a fool.
This morning, rain for the garden. :)
It's not unbearably hot today!
It's unbearably hot here, but cooler than yesterday.
I'm finally feeling inspired to sew again!! And my niece is in town and she's going to be working on garb while she's here! Its so nice to have someone else who really shares my excitement about this stuff!
I brought 3-4 outfits to work that I had made for the kiddo. A friend from another area of the company stopped by to drop off some paperwork. First thing out of his mouth, "Hey is that part of the new line from Osh Gosh? What is it doing in your area?"
I told him I made it over the weekend.
He laughed, "Naa really where did you get it?" Then he starte examining it for the tag, when all he found was my nice overlocked seams, and no tag he was convinced.
It felt good to actually "fool" someone who is in the buisness that one of my items really could be mistaken for high quality store bought made my day.
An hour reading on the porch and having it be a comfortable temp.

;D *squeel!* Was in the pool today, and I have a habit of checking the filter basket for.. well, anything of interest. And I found TWO perfect LARGE male Prionus californicus beetle specimens!! Both had drowned, but were in perfect body condition with no broken legs or antennae.
Couldn't find a collection container quick enough. Got them home and, before they dried out, I spread the wings on one and repositioned the legs of the other but left his wings closed. They are nearly matched in size, just under 3 inches long each, and just gorgeous! (assuming you even think dead bugs can be gorgeous)
They're both drying now and should be ready for framing in a couple weeks! ;D For an odd ball like myself, with a bit of an entomological side, I am flipping thrilled to find TWO males!
Hope no one minds I share a small pic of the male I spread. I tried to keep it small for quick loading. I can remove it if it causes any problems.

Well, nothing has made my Monday (yet), but I can say that I had a pretty darned good weekend and I'm hopeful that it will continue through the rest of the week. And maybe, just maybe, beyond. We'll see.
Daughter's silliness. :)
The possibility of rain is bringing things around... and it's sprinkling a bit harder now... if it actually pours my day will definitely be made!
Since a group of friends hadn't said boo about having a baby shower, or even a get together that I could attend. (The whole crashing at 8 at night puts a damper on late night parties). I contact our groups party planner about me hosting a party one weekend she tells me "Sit back and be patient. Do NOT plan anything for yourself that weekend. You will be busy. Hint hint nudge nudge."
Just because they hadn't said anything didn't mean they weren't up to something. Turns out they were just waiting for the same thing I was, our big show to close so we can have more people to attend. ;D
BEAUTIFUL day! ;D
A visit from my son last night!
RAIN!
Scedule worked out that the PP and I got to spend an hour at a local coffee shop doing nothing. Our iced teas & coffees were paid for thanks to winning a gift card at a trivia challange. Free drinks, quiet evening, and knowing the house is clean, no dishes to do, and dinner is waiting for us ready in a crock pot. Nice break from all the hectic stuff.
Plenty of rain last night, drought broken and reasonable temperatures at the moment!!! It will likely get hot again here, but an end is definitely in sight!
And I think today is an excellent day to visit the water park, since it's been too hot to go all summer long... which seems so very odd. ::) :D

For me, it was managing to get my Pelican PCS-2552 RSV camera bag rearranged to hold my Nikon D90 with the 10-24mm lens, the Nikon new D7000 with the 28-300mm lens, the Nikon SB-600 Flash, the
Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom Tripod (http://joby.com/gorillapod/slrzoom/), and still have space for the new Nikon 35mm f/1.8 DX lens, and also the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (WiFi) that I bought to use as a GPS on Holiday in the UK Lake District next month. The Asus EEE PC 1215B-PU17 Netbook that I've got fits easily in the Laptop pocket of the bag, and the PCS-2552 is small enough to be carry-on luggage for the flight to England.
Finding out the repairs to my van are NOT going to cost $1000, as I feared... and that I have enough right now to cover the total.

And the very last pain pill that I've been hoarding from dental surgery, that might just enable me to get a bit of uninterrupted sleep tonight... Standing up for human rights to people who believe that humans are less important than animals. (it's hard to do because their logic and grip on reality are fairly "elastic")

Sweet little early morning chat, full of laughter and friendly teasing.
This evening, getting along very well with my daughter and knowing she does appreciate her mom. :)
Conversations that pick up right where they left off... and meander just wherever they happen to go. :D
A really great evening with friends...Nim and I had dinner with Archer and his lovely bride in Tulsa. Good food and great conversations... Rennie friends are the best!
Our day was also made, by sharing some enjoyable time with Merlin and Nim. Very special and fun folks. If they ever invite you to something, don't miss the opportunity.

Wait... you two were IN THE STATE?!? And we didn't get to see you?!? Oh... I'd better not tell Scally! She'll think you don't like us anymore... :P
My day has been made, once again, by an early morning chat with someone who gets more interesting every time we talk... and we've been talking a great deal, lately :)
On the worst of days, we're in the state next door, Rani. We weren't going to be far enough west to arrange a meetup, but I did consider it! :). we will catch up with you and Scally soon, I'm sure. Give her a hug for me!
Archer's words are much too kind. Thank you, sir.
I know, dear... and it has just been miserable down here, anyway! We miss you both, though, and would love to hug your necks... I will certainly convey your hug to Scally, and I know she will send one back, for each of you... as do I. :) Very soon, I hope!!!
Great day at faire (yesterday) with my son and his girlfriend.
Sweet messages :D
My house no longer smells like a kennel! It took a ton of work and it is worth it! Now on to the horror story that is my garage.
FAIRE!!!! ;D ;D
Jim Beam. Amaretto, and whiskey sour mix.
Amy, you and I need to sit down and discuss your choice of whiskey... ;)
Well, this would actually be evening but True Blood is on tonight! :)
(And what is wrong with Jim Beam? )
Jim Beam is not ... a Tennessee sour mash whiskey, which I very much prefer. I lost my taste for bourbons long ago. I shouldn't be critical...we all have our tastes. I never get a hangover from Jack Daniel's, but I do from bourbons, blends, and Canadian whiskeys.
Let's see...
-Watching The Tudors on Netflix
-Haribo Gummy Bears
-Having a day to do absolutely nothing
;D
Gummy Bears! ;D
I talked to my oldest boy last night.
This has actually made many of my days, but the way myself and 19 year old are getting along. Those 9 months she was out of the house did make somewhat of a difference! :)
I got a very enthusiatic good morning kiss from a Frenchie today. (French Bulldog that is).
A French kiss from a bulldog?
Well not quite....I have learned to keep my lips closed.

Well, this morning anyway, sitting on the porch and listening to the rain.
As Carole King said I feel the earth move under my feet. One more thing to cross off my bucket list... living through an earth quake.
An amazing first day of school with wonderful students (and one who was kind of a jerk), then hearing from another teacher that my Yearbook editors were chattering about how much better the class was going to be this year with me as the adviser (yes, adviser actually has an "e" instead of an "o" -- promise).
p!ssing off a tw@t that thinks he's an important gift from God to the world at large. It is just so satisfying to poke such a self-important douche and watch them get all riled up.

Hearing from friends that should the kiddo come early, we wont' be alone until family from out of time will arrive. Also they are willing to help for a couple weeks afterwards in case we need it.

Blessed silence and alone-ness, at least for a while! ;D

If you intend to be at the camp grounds Friday night, then yes. But Karaoke at camp doesn't sound like a bad idea. Surely there's a rennie among us that is a KJ...anybody?
I know a couple (not rennies, unfortunately) who have a huge karaoke program on their laptop... wonder if anyone here has something like that? It would just need a couple of full size speakers plugged into it and a mic...
A walk and long talk with my youngest daughter.(not the one I am having issues with at the moment.)

Realizing we didn't end up rolled in a ditch last night driving from Marion, Indiana to Minneapolis. Damned lucky we are... While stowing the trailer in the garage today we noticed both the tires on the right side of the dual axels were scalloped pretty badly. Prolly could have blown one or both. Must be why things felt a little funny about the time we hit Chicago, but was to dark to notice when I looked around. I keep it up on jacks in the off season to keep weight off the tires, so something must be wrong on that side.
Our autumn leaves look like fireworks.

Not being charged for labor by my mechanic, even after he pulled the part, sent his guys running all over town to try and find a used one (so I could afford it), and putting it all back together so I could at least drive, even though the used part didn't work.
