There had been some talk about doing a party at the King's Courtyard. We could have a great time there. I would be willing to talk to the owners and see what kind of prices they could give us.

I talked to Lisa, the owner of the King's Courtyard today. She is willing and very excited to put together a party plan for us. The minimum is 20 people. She is going to send me some prices in a day or two.
I figure we can do a buffett or appetizers. And a keg of some type of imported, like Guinness or Smithwicks, or Bass, yum...
And there would be wine as well. But they don't serve hard liquor so the rum's out. Unless of course, you are carrying a small flask that is part of your garb. :)
And we would have to decide when we want to do this. Warmer weather brings a better price. Later on into the fall it's wedding season and the prices get a little higher.
And I'm thinking we might talk to Paul Knight and see if Allannah (Four for Naught?) would be willing to come out and sing for us. I think anyone wanting to bring their instuments would be awesome. We could just have impromtu jams all night.
Talk amongst yourselves and let's give this a shot.
Or hell....we could just have a big damn shindig at someone's house......

Is anyone interested in the get together that I'm doing at Molly Brannigan's August 9th? It's from noon to 6:00 PM. I have to charge a cover because I am renting a room they have there. I've been working this party for about six weeks now and the list has about 48 people on it. Anything above and beyond the room and food cost will go to RESCU and I will post what the cost and the check to RESCU will be that day. Mario from the festival security has RSVP'd as well. I sent this event to all that are on my myspace friends list. There are still a lot of people who haven't looked at it though. If you are interested, send me a message here or otherwise.

Hey there! It was good to see you as well in Show Low. Yes, it's garbed. I'm having a meeting this weekend with the manager to talk about weapons and peace tying but for now I would assume no weapons. And yes, bring your guitar :)
unfortunately the 9th falls on a saturday I work, and will not be able to attend. Have to save up my vacation time to ensure that I have enough time to take off every sunday and half the saturdays come February/March

A good time was had by all that showed up. Sir Scott, Lady Jessica, and of course the delicious Julianne and me, Marcos. Beer was had, grub was consumed, stories were told and plans were made. The spot in question, Churchills, is a first rate place for a good pint and better grub. Might have to try and make this a regular spot for the AZ folk

I don't believe there was a plan forming for those dates to gather Ista (at least that was my understanding) . That was in reply to Julianne's question of when the wife and I will be getting into the state after we leave MN. After driving down from MN and just getting into the town we'll be living in. I don't know if we'll be "quite" ready to drive 3 hours more, for a meet and greet yet. But I'm sure we'll be up to plan one sometime very soon down the road.
aww c'mon now...what better way is there to celebrate a drive across country than with a 3 hour drive, followed by drinking all night, followed by a 3 hour drive home ;D

well, we hd a blast, as always wish more could be there, but we ad a really good time...it was so ngreat seeing muffin and bacardi again!!! only have a few weeks to go

My grandkids gave me the flu for Christmas so between the endless privey sessions and those "get well naps" assisted by the Bourbon Fairys , I have not been myself as of late. I hope to be 100% for the next meeting, which I see is in the new year and the night of the 2nd of Jan.

I thank all my R/Fers that helped bring all the new faces we saw at Churchill's this evening.
I think the playtrons of AZRF have a new home and a better connection then ever before.
The event at Shakespeare's next Saturday will be lots of fun.
I was so honoured that the owner of Churchills asked all to participate in his grand opening!

I have never seen so many of our friends in mundane garb before. This has all the earmarks of turning into a fabulous thing for our local ren family and friends. To know that we have a place to meet and share during the off season is very special and brings us closer as family and friends.
I look forward to many more such gatherings and the plans to be made for MRF and other places we should invade.

I have to say that even though there were some in attendance at Shakespears that requested we alternate between the two venues....I don't see it coming to fruition...at least not for me and the Marquis.
That's not to say we won't occasionally go there. I'm thinking for Meet n' Greet Friday night dinner during faire season would be nice. We just like the atmosphere of Churchill's on Friday nights.

The Comte and the Marquis both have survived the massive lay-offs just having occurred at their place of business. Many of their friends/co-workers were not so fortunate.
Needless to say the Lady Jessanne and I are hugely relieved for our families.

Thank you friends...For me it was bittersweet. We were told this would be done fairly, that it would be based off skills. my team lost 50% of our people, well below what it takes to perform our function. Good people lost their jobs while our day shift counterparts lost 1 person...just 1. people were cut solely based on what time they come to work. We don't have less responsability, we don't do less maitainance, we do it at a time of day people don't want to work, and we do it without the full support of an engineering staff. I am greatfull to still have a job to support my family with, but I am confused and angry. Someone has a hidden agenda, now we must wait to see what it is. :'( :'( :'(. Thankfully my former manager that moved back to Oregon a while back has some job openings he is trying to get filled with my friends plese pray that he will succeed.

Hey ...renkin...that should go into the lexicon. GracefulCarrie and are true RenKin.
A RenKin is someone you met through the faire that is actually, trully related to you by blood.
But you can also be a "renkin" if you have that special "kissing cousin" feeling for someone that is your shiresister or shirebro.
I dont' know...probably someone already came up with that. It's late and I'm too tired to search.

I do hope now after a few weeks entrenched with us odd Arizonians you feel somewhat at home. This summertime heat is wicked severe and you are being acclimated quickly. Soon come February you'll understand why we revel sooo much.

beer indeed!! So my work week in review... After laying off 6 out of 8 people, they decide to jump our wafer starts almost double what we've been running, and have decided to "unbag" (bring back up to full production) the other half of our fleet (another 10 tools) which entails about 72+ hours of work each in addition to maintaining the tools already in production...did I mention that we only have 2 of us left? my job sucks... :'(
SO YAY FOR BEER!!! ;D ;D ;D
Drop Jess and Steph at the airport in a couple hours so will be flying solo this week, but will be there for sure!!

I had some time on me hands tonight since the Marquis decided to stay and party with y'all...as usual and I have to work tomorrow....ah well...*sigh*
Anyway I was reading back to the first page ...which was just a short year ago...and wow have we progressed!
It's a really really great time at Churchill's on Friday night now....it always was in my life but I do have to admit getting the AZRF population out now that we do is really just superb.
Even if they aren't members here...which we might be surprised how many of them are ...they just don't post....I am so proud of our AZRF family...lovely group of fine folks as is usual within the community as whole.
We are strong...we are invincible......oops...I think that might be a song. Dang..I'm so thinking about karaoke in Minnesota ;)
It might even rain then...

Well here it is upon us at last...our last Churchills get together before faire, come join us (we will plan on meet and greet on presidents weekend Friday but that will be the only one for the duration of faire)
And I missed it! Was out running around all day today with the Marchesa Luxuria, searching for last-minute garb accessories and other stuff. Darn!!
