My fiance and I will be working at one of the tents.
Well, dang! This is the first I've heard of it. :-\
I'm already booked for the weekend. Maybe next year.
I knew I should have posted about it much earlier.
Live and learn, brother! ;D
I would have had to miss it anyway.

I like the living part! But the learning part can be painful!!

That's all a matter of how hard she slaps and how fast you can duck! :D
LOL!
;D
What the heck??!! How come we haven't heard about this until now? I can't believe such a thing was in the works without all the pirates here knowing about it!
Well, d@mn. Will have to keep it in mind for next year, sounds like a blast!! Do you know who organized it, Will?
Thanks for sharing!!
A gentleman named Sean Farrell (Capt Farrell) I believe is who organized it.
News to me! Never heard of this before. Had I known sooner, may have had a chance to ask for the weekend off!
I first started seeing something about it on Facebook just in the last ten days
It's pretty expensive though, I've known about it for a while and wow...$60? that's crazy talk
Ive seen it mentioned in past few messages on listserve
It was a great weekend! Definately going to be a part of it next year. Being that this was the first year, it was definately a learning experience and we are going to be changing some things (for our part, the event tent & merchandise making and selling) for next year.

For all of those that fit into DB's category. I apologize for not making the event known on here sooner. For next year I will be making sure that I get the info posted on here earlier. Or if you follow the page on Facebook (see my initial post) you'll have the info.
Also for those interested, there were 4 Theme camps/event tents that people can align themselves with.
Swashbuckling Buccaneers of Booty Bay (you're standard pirate)
Dead/Zombie Pirates
Space Pirates
& The Masked Skulls(fire performers)
I know for sure that The Swashbuckling & Masked Skulls have FB pages.

Compared to the other events that they have out there (Bella, Sacred Harvest Fest . . . etc), this is pretty dang cheap! Regular camping out there is $20 per night.

Quarter Master of the Swashbuckling Buccaneers of Booty Bay
(Yes,yes, I know! Our Captain is a WOW freak!)
Hmm. Definitely sounds like something to put on the calendar for next year...
A suggestion to the organizers...The website is not at all clear as to what one would encounter at said event. I tried to figure it out and lost. Your post above does more to explain it then the website did. Still not clear on the details...This is a camping event? LARP? Fest?
May have gone had I known more about it. $60.00 is a lot of money if all it includes is gate entry into a "festival". If this also included camping or speciality entertainment it certainly would make a difference. Again, no insult intended...I just did not want to drive 2 hours on a $60.00 gamble.

This is the one of the many points of advice/suggestions that I made to the organizers. There were a lot of things that were not very clear about the event, and a lot of things that were not communicated very clearly as well.
They had a ton of bands that performed on the main stage, as well as B-Stage. The common term that I heard them describe it as was a Arts & Music Festival.
As much as possible, our specific Event Tent will be putting out it's own information on what to expect with to our followers on FB. Information on our tent and it's specific events and what to expect/plan to see/experience at the Festival in a whole.
Thank you Dreg for the feedback. My suggestion would be to email them directly and provide the same feedback to the organizers. If they hear it from several sources, maybe they'll get the hint.
Also, for any of those interested, the Swashbuckling Buccaneer camp has a group page on FB. I'll post a direct link when I am not on a nazi computer.
Or you can search for "PlunderFest: The Swashbuckling Buccaneers of Booty Bay" on FB.
