My wife and I are planning on heading out on opening weekend, and our friend wants to tag along.... in dress. Does anyone have a dress to borrow or 'rent' for Saturday? Something to look good in, that we won't have to pay much (if any) to borrow. She's a short, normal sized girl with large..... tracts of land. I have more specific measurements if anyone can help. I could pickup before, and drop off after sunday as we plan to spend all sunday at Valleyfair. Thanks for looking!

Prince Thomas, I do hope you are able to find something for your friend to wear! As you are well aware, a day at fest is so much more fun when dressed the part.
That said, please do not feel slighted or offended when there is no quick offer of loaner garb. Many folks spend a great deal of time and money making their garb very personal and special... loaning to an unknown person is not something that most people will do, me included.
However, perhaps we, as a community, can brainstorm some quick fix and inexpensive ideas for her to wear so she'll feel part of the merriment just the same!
Thrift store:
Any of the flowy boho chic skirts will make terrific substitutes for wench wear-layer for a terrific look! The colors/patterns don't even have to match.
Any color elastic necked peasant style shirt
A fringed scarf for a more gypsy/belly dancer look
A wide belt or even waist cincher-really, I've seen all of this kind of stuff at my local, not great, thrift store.
If her hair is long enough, some fun, soft braids down the front to pull her hair back, add a lovely garland (which can also be a keepsake of the day) and wha-la! She'll look beautiful, have a great day, and not break the bank.
Costume shops are always an alternative too. The good ones usually rent out quick but it is worth a try!
Party Papers has a costume shop in Anoka.
Have you checked with the festival's costume shop? They always have rentals for weddings and such.
