Someday they will forget
they will forget that you ever played
they will forget that I ever wrote
they will forget that we ever lived
they will forget that we ever Loved each other
Our story will fade
they won't remember
my name much less yours
they won't remember we existed at all
Yet i won't forget
how we found each other serving
how it scared me to start when i though
you liked me
how you tossed a wrench in my plans
somehow i almost think you knew
way before i did
Maybe God told you to wait and be
patient with me and you did.
So let them forget
let them forget that we loved
that we served and one day
when God is telling stories in Heaven one day he might tell ours
That's a very powerful piece. I love the last stanza.

thank you
this is my latest piece wrote just this week.
i just happen to be writing more here of late.
Timeless love that transcends even mortality makes for wonderful subject matter, and you handled it with a very light hand, using simple phrasing and personal statements without being overly specific. Short and to the point. Very enjoyable read! Thanks for sharing...
I love it
