For a lot of us, faire season is already over or almost over. For others, their next faire season has just begun or will begin soon. So I'm throwing out 2 questions, because I think it will be fun to read everyone's answers.
1. Where do you want to go during your next faire season? Other faires for a visit, I mean. Near or far, doesn't matter. Just a place where you think it really might be possible for you to visit.
2. Your "wish list" that might not happen this coming season, but maybe someday.
Now, this is not a thread about "well, such and such faire is much better than that other one." Hopefully, we are all intelligent enough not to have that happen. Right? No drama! Doesn't seem like this is a topic that would rile people up, but hey, it's happened before with topics that seemed innocent and harmless. *end of disclosure. lol* ;D
Well, I'll be moving back "home" to MA this summer, so my ideal list (despite probability of lacking funds and college getting in the way):
1. Sterling
2. King Richard's Faire
3. PA Ren
4. TRF
Definitely Sterling, and possibly BARF and/or PARF...we didn't get to any faires this year due to other expenses taking precedence...keeping my fingers crossed and working hard to be able to put more aside for fun stuff in 2011 :)
If I won a bazillion dollars and could go to all of the faires I wanted to, I would visit all of the above, plus Scarborough, TRF, ColoradoRF, AZRF, and a couple in Michigan, and then I'd work on garb for the Victorian faires that seem to be cropping up...never enough floofy skirts & corsets for me! ;D
My wife and I have always wanted to visit the MNRF for the last few years and we got do that this year!! The MNRF is only 3 hrs away from our new residence! It was a good experience.
Next year however, lol, we will likely be closer to the KCRF, so if that happens, then that is our plan, maybe even season tickets to KCRF if were close enough. I believe NE has a faire or two that we might visit in addition.
We love Bristol, but, don't know how likely we would be to drive from the KC area up to Kenosha.
Not so near future;
TRF and PARF, we'd like to visit some day!
Three faires that I've really wanted to visit for a long time are Bristol, Sterling, and NYRF. I'm hoping to make at least one of those next year.
I'm not sure where I'll be living starting in April (either at home in the Bay Area, or in Seattle, ideally) so I'm not sure which faires I could feasibly visit after then. But until then, I'm going to the Lady of the Lakes Faire Nov 5th, BARF the 1st weekend of April, and possibly the Dickens faire in SF the last weekend (if I don't get cast in a show in FL).
And for #2, I would love to visit pretty much all the faires talked about on here. I wish I could go to Sterling every week, since it's my favorite, and I would like another chance at Scarby without a huge storm, and I want to go to TRF, Bristol, PARF, and so many more just off the top of my head.
1. PARF
2. Rendevous, where ever if may be in the future.
Gina
I want to go EVERYWHERE!! POOF! I hope my magick spells will work!
Guess I'll have to be happy with going to the TX faires though. It was fun to dream a bit!

You're not planning a trip to Colorado for Rendevous?
Our goal for 2010 was to become a national act. We can put a check mark in that box!
Goal for 2011 - Ojai or other pirate festival on the West coast and Brixton in the UK - I think I got my work cut out for me!
I'd like to try and make Colorado and Louisiana
I'm planning to make Chippewa Falls (WI), Twig (MN) and MNRF. I also HOPE to make it to Bristol and CO!
Lee and I are planning a trip to Bristol for next year! (plus CoRF - but we have been there before)
I would love to visit TRF
1. BARF for one "partic'lar" weekend
2. CORF for Rendezvous and th' many cherished sites nearby.
3. Back t' Carolina RF
aaannnnddd...
4. a TRIUMPHANT return visit t' TRF! ;D
Won't be next year, but at some point in time my short list includes:
CoRF - NYRF - one of the Florida RF's or Pirate Festivals.
I gotta admit, I'm kinda spoiled. I live in central Texas and within 2.5 hrs I've got TRF, Scarby, and Sherwood and none overlap.
I really, really want to make Sherwood in 2011.
I'd like to go to Muskogee for 1 weekend in April, but if it conflicts with Scarby getting his lordship to go might be an uphill battle.
2011 Sherwood will be added to the agenda.
Scotland is on the list too. ;D
I havent decided but want to make it to as many faires as possible because of having missed out on so much this year!(With my local faire)
So it very well may turn out that I get to visit a couple more faires. I'm moving (probably from FL back to home in CA) in April, and I think I might get to visit Scarby and/or Four Winds, as well as the Southern CA Pleasure Faire on the way there.
I am going to Florence in January. Not a faire, but very real renaissance. Good way to start out the year. As far as faires my plans include for 2011:
Sherwood - one weekend
Four Winds - one weekend
Norman?
Scarby - every day it is open
Middlefaire - one weekend
Pirate Days at the Colony- one weekend
TRF - at least one weekend
There may be others depending on where I go for summer vacation.
Four Winds
Norman
Spirit Of Magic
Great Bend
OK Celtic Fest
CoRF
MoRF
Cherokee Strip
King's Champion
Great Plains
I havent been to NYRF in about 8 years, so I would love to go back there next season ( finally ) and perhaps the Ohio Renn Faire since it is so close for me ( 3 hours ) and I have never been.
KHRF and ORF are my usual. But the goal is to make TNRF, Fisher's, and St. Louis in addition.
I don't think we'll ever miss at least one trip to Scarby each year, so the list is:
Scarby (fer shure, dude!),
OkRF at Muskogee (good chance, closest faire: only 4 hour trip each way),
CoRF for RenDezvous (I hope, I hope, I hope!)
NYRF (son is in Brooklyn...he wants us to do this one with him)
Everything is so far away, and we have limited time off!
Will be hitting Colorado, but I'd like to visit Maryland again, except this time I'll avoid the oyster shooters ;-)
We made PARF, NCRF, and NYRF last year. Returned to NCRF and NYRF this year. Home is CRF. Dream list includes Colorado, Maryland, and Sterling plus a dozen more when I retire and have more time.
We'd love to go to Colorado, Minnesota... we were there in '07 but didn't see much of it due to all the rain, MiRF as usual, and our home faire, Des Moines.
Any faire other than NorCal... it's been my only for 15 years, and my kids are finally old enough that a longer drive for a day or two of revelry is doable... not to mention that I finally have a job where I get paid days off, so I can afford to play hooky for a weekend and have a little fun... I hope to make it to most of the Northern/Central Cal faires next year, although the majority of them are small, single-weekend affairs... In a perfect world, I'd like to attend Valhalla or SoCal
My home faire is NYRF. I'm going to try to get to PARF and MDRF next year. Sterling is also on my list but it's a long shot.

I regrettably missed PARF this year after not missing for several years, but I highly reccomend it. MDRF is also exceptional.
Other than home faire, MDRF, we plan on visiting VARF and a possible return to PARF.
Closer to home, we will attend FaerieCon in Baltimore, MD Nov 12-14 and the second RenCon in March 2011 - alos in Valtimore...
I have only been to VARF and MDRF since there are both within an hours drive, but I plan on PARF and Carolina next year.
Anywhere!
Since I moved to the West coast I have yet to find a good local faire :( I'm in Oregon and feel so lost when it comes to faire, far from my home TNRF!
But really, any faire would be awesome!
I wouldn't mind going to TRF, CORF or AZRF. But don't know if we'll be able to afford it; probably not.
We are pondering FlaRF...in order to raise our status as Iris & Rose groupies. :D
Will they be at FLARF this year?! How awesome. :)
Well, let's see, my wife and I skipped FLARF last year, thinking we'd spend the money on a trip to GARF instead, and never got there either. So this year we're hoping to do both (that, and realize we put a big box full of cash in storage and had forgotten all about it). We're planning to get to Colorado for Rendezvous.
And after the winter/spring rush (with almost every weekend taken up with Highland Games and/or Faire here in Florida), we'll figure out what we're doing faire-wise after July ... depending on how big that box is.

Yes, they told us that's where they would be next. Never having been to FlaRF, it looks like there are 2 locations and they'll be at the Deerfield Beach one.
Yep. There are two faires in the area now. A new one opened last year closer to Miami. I believe it's also a Bobby Rodriguez production and runs just prior I believe. I'd like to check that out this year if possible. Certainly FLARF is on my list. It's a fun faire.
Anyway, It'll be fun to meet you if we chance to be there the same weekend. :)
We've only been to the Deerfield Beach location. FLARF always seems to have great entertainment, and that's a big reason we really want to go back.
With all of the goading I'm getting, I think I'm going to alter my list:
Sherwood Forest opening weekend (pending getting the time off for travel)
Scarby (tentatively preview weekend and likely opening weekend)
OKRF at Muskogee (tentatively opening weekend)
CoRF/RenDezvous (the iffiest of all at this point due to travel time/time off availability concerns)
Now that I have been on here a little longer, I find I have a few preferences. Mostly I would like to get to as many in the midwest as possible but would REALLY like to get to TRF and the RF Rendevous.
It's a long travel for a Minnesotan, but I'll throw out a personal invitation to Scarborough, Mairte.
Wow, well let me see.
2011
Sherwood Forest
Scarborough Faire
TRF
Bristol
PARF
KCRF
Colorado RF
This is tentative and may include more or less as the year goes on. Will do the entire 8 week run at Scarby the others will probably be one weekend affairs with Sherwood and TRF being the exceptions because they are closer to home.
I HAVE thought about Scarby, Merlin, so thanks! ;D You and Nimue should try to make it up to the MNRF. :)
I second that, MNRF is nothing short of awesome.
I may have to put that on my 2012 schedule...2011 looks pretty well booked for us!
For 2011
Sherwood Forrest opening and spring break weekends.
GARF opening weekend
TNRF entire run
KHRF July 2nd/3rd + any weekends I have off in June
Bristol Labor Day weekend
PARF Sept 10th,11th
OHRF subject to time off
LARF opening thru Thanksgiving weekends
