For halloween i was thinking about getting some colored contacts. I was thinking of some all green ones or white ones but so far i can only find ones that are like $75 a lens. I was wondering if anyone here knows where to get some for cheaper?
My husband is looking at getting some too. If we find some I will let you know.
There was a discussion about different contacts found http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=10700.0 (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=10700.0)
It might be able to help you out.
Becky, are you in the Houston area? If so may I suggest Erotic Cabaret. It is where I get my theatrical contacts, no prescription needed.

Looks about the same price as a pair of prescription lenses, so I don't think you'll get them cheaper. I don't know that more expensive will necessarily guarantee a better quality product in this case. I know you will spend more at a local costume shop.
What a fun site to wander through. :)
They say they are made from a patented Hydrogel, so they sound like they'd be gentle on your eye. Some have a shorter shelf life(once opened) than others, so don't expect to get more than a years use out of them.
I say go for it. Have fun. :)
I think i am going to go for them, i looked around and everyone seems very pleased with theirs. Now i just have to decide which ones! Theres only like a $3 difference between the 90 days and the year long ones so i think i am going to get the year ones.Do they like melt after a year or something? Now i just have to decide on the color! I am thinking about the white ones with the black ring on the outside....hmmm
Thanks for the help guys.
The white ones caught my eye too.
...caught my eye...get it? :)
We found a pair that is PERFECT for my husband's costume
I just wanted to say:
Even if you are getting "Theatrical Lenses", a prescription is required - by law. Anybody selling contacts without requiring a prescription is committing a federal felony.
Eyes are different shapes, and so are contacts.
If you get the wrong shape for your eyes, you can do permanent, irreparable damage to your eyes.
The company I found is located in the UK but luckily my prescription is the same they use. Not sure if i am going to get them though cause the money i was going to use for them is now being used to get a new fish tank.
