Title: Albannach in Florida
Post by: Auryn on January 03, 2011, 10:07:01 AM
I know this doesn't relate to BARF but I didn't know where else to put it that Florida people would see it- the FLARF section doesn't count because its a ghose town.

Anyhoo
I was wondering if anyone besides my bf and I will be attending either the Caloosahatchee Celtic Festival or the Central Florida Highland games this month.

We are going with the sole intent to see Albannach since they will not be coming down to South Florida this year.
In case you are an Albannach virgin and want to be enlightned you can hear their music here

Both sound interesting and I love Albannach, but I'm not sure where and when they are. Can you post a link?

Got to tease you about your typo....is a ghose town one full of risen from the dead geese?  :D

Here's a link to the Central Florida Highland Games site:

My wife and I will be going to the games. We generally hang around Rosie O'Grady's Highlands, since we have two daughter in that pipe band, but since my wife is not playing bass drum this year, we'll be free to do other stuff. Like hearing Albanach!

Thank you for the link iain robb.
Wish I could be a judge for the shortbread competition.

here is the link for the other event http://www.celticheritageproductions.com/caloosahatchee.htm - its in Fort Myers

hehe
nice spotting Anna, thats pretty funny.
Maybe a ghose town is full of naked goose ghosts- the ones that were used for pillows and comforters.

We haven't decided which one we will be going to yet- the drive is about the same 3 - 3.5 hrs each way, but we can only afford to go to one so we are trying to figure out which one would be the most fun and most worthwhile.

I am definitely saving up my pennys to get some Albannach swag this year.
The bf is planning on going in a great kilt worn the same way the band guys wear theirs. We couldn't afford the Albannach tartan so he just found something he liked at joanns.

Saw them for a bit at the Central Florida games. My wife, a former pipe band bass drummer, was glad to see Jackie back on on bass drum for them.
