Has anyone seen the Nat Geo documentary called "Inside the Body of Henry VIII". Fascinating stuff, about the king and the era. Pretty good.
I saw it and it was wonderful!
Unfortunately I fell asleep before the end but someone told me what the diagnosis was!
I just read a review online.

No real surprises, but I want to see that documentary!
I like this article from 2009 a bit better:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/the-jousting-accident-that-turned-henry-viii-into-a-tyrant-1670421.html
There have been so many theories: from Syphilis, to a part of a jousting lance permanently embedded in his leg causing the 'ulcers' that famously stank and ran pus constantly.
The lance theory I pretty much dismissed since Henry would have died of sepsis long before he did with that kind of infection, and it was known that he had multiple lesions, though there was one in particular that was severe. Toward the end, he probably developed Diabetes due to his weight (28 stone=392 lbs) which would contribute to the leg problems.
The head injury was well documented, and I'm surprised no expert has made the connection with the brain trauma and his personality change before this, though various historical fiction authors have been speculating about it for years.
I love this. She is shopping for Henry VIII for a week. No wonder he was very obese.

I also saw the Nat. Geo. special and found it quite interesting.
I think I'm going to have to find this online to watch it.
I saw the show on Henry VIII, about a month or two ago.
Last week, there was a special on Queen Elizabeth I.
Supposedly, the real Princess died of a fever and a boy was substitute so the King wouldn't behead people. Now I am sure he would of known any ways. He wasn't stupid.
Then, supposedly she was a woman/man, and that is why she never married.
And when she past, this was why she did not want to be embalmed, to keep the secret.
I just sat and wondered what the hell? :-X
If it comes back on Nat Geo, please watch it.
