Yes indeed, the Mayfaire on the Village Green. Trolls, Gypsies, rumpled aesthetes, the Earl of Warwick, mud women, magicians, puppeteers and doughty warriors converge upon the Village Green in Holland Patent, NY. Adirondack Scenic Railroad will delivering participants from Utica, and bringing the survivors back.
Admission to the fair is FREE, paid for by generous sponsors.
The Village Green was ceded by Lord Holland as the village common prior to the Revolution. In fact, the Village's name is derived from the tract of land called Lord Holland's Land Patent, a patent being a royal land grant. The Village was made out of the common grant and the existing village green is the remnant. On the green you will see stately maples planted to commemorate fallen revolutionary soldiers after the war. You will also see a gazebo on which Sousa was said to have performed.

How exciting ~ and it's only about an hour away for me! ;D
Is this an event that one may come to in garb, or is it best to come dressed otherwise?
Either way, I hope we can make it out for at least one day ~ this Mayfaire sounds lovely!
Verily do garb thyself! As Barnes and Noble is providing a leather bound Complete Shakespeare collection will be given to the best costume, and other prizes to the second, third and forth!!
Huzzah! Then M'lord and I will indeed plan to be there, and in our finest ~ I *love* prizes! ;)
I got 50 copies of A Midsummer Night's Dream from Penguin Books to hand out to those who are well dressed. Good sword fighting, and http://www.adamoignis.com/ (http://www.adamoignis.com/) amazing fire breathers and eaters, and more
Just purchased our tickets to take the Adirondack Scenic Railroad to Mayfaire on the Green ~ HUZZAH! I can hardly wait! ;D
I've a strolling player on the train, he learned Kemp's Jig in particular for the event.

Any info on wares being offered?
Looks like I don't get to put that roof on this weekend as it is raining in the dinning room. Can't do the roof and can't go to Mayfaire on the Green. Next thing you know someone will try to claim Irish and Lady Amy are innocent.

Well, our visit to Mayfaire was a soggy but wonderful one ~ it was great to see Ozium and his family & friends about, and we enjoyed the vendors, and made a few purchases :) the food was delicious (we even took some home for dinner!) , and we met quite a few lovely people as well. I'm very glad to have gone, and I hope Mayfaire becomes an annual event! ;D
