The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival is looking for new entertainers to participate in the 2011 Festival on weekends and Labor Day from Aug. 20 through Sept. 25. The Festival is seeking enthusiastic musicians and lively street characters as well as talented performers for the Royal Court to help create a 16th-century village atmosphere.

...Auditions will be held in the Performance Studio at the Seton Hill University Performing Arts Center (SHUPAC) on Saturday, April 9, 2011, 9AM til 4:30PM. SHUPAC is located at the corner of W. Otterman Street and Harrison Avenue in downtown Greensburg. (The Festival is located at 112 Renaissance Lane in West Newton, Pa.)

New applicants must be 18 years of age or older and available for the entire Festival season. Rehearsals are required prior to the start of the season. Applicants should bring a résumé and current photo to the audition and should prepare a one-minute classic monologue, and brief presentation of their character or talent. Costumes or photographs of costuming are encouraged at auditions, but not required. Participants should wear comfortable clothing for callbacks, which will include movement exercises.
