I don't think we'll make opening but I've only seen a few people posting about opening weekend.
We're trying for 2nd weekend since my husband has to work opening.
We should be there every weekend but not both days. ;D
We plan to be there every weekend at least 1 day. I would love to stay late on a Sunday sometime, but who knows.
Nimue and I will only be down for Preview and Opening Weekends. With the trip to RenDezvous, the past trip to Sherwood, and a couple possibles in Oklahoma in May, I don't know that we can get away any more than that. If we lived in Texas, especially around Dallas, we'd be there every week. Gas prices may slow is down a little, too.
Don Juan and I are there every Saturday unless something goes spectacularly wrong.
I and my folks shall be there opening weekend.
I'll be there with my harem...I wish I was going to be there with my hair, but that's long gone.

Stroking the chin will pull the hair from the head to the chin ;D
I wonder if I can push it back through.... ??? ??? meh...no matter. A little longer and I can do a comb-over. ;D
All day cannon to cannon every day faire is open, as usual.
Plans are for opening weekend for us! :)
Every day is the current plan. If we can keep the mundane world from interfering that is! Usually no problem being there at opening cannon. Closing cannon is a little more iffy throughout the season!
WEEK 2 ! ! !
This is the best week to go!
I'll be there every day starting week 2.
Actually.... I'll be there on Saturdays and my evil twin "Scott the Scot" will be coming on Sundays to march with the Queens Own Highlanders in the parade.
Week 1 is NASCAR weekend..... so WEEK 2 is going to be the best !
Pan and I will be out there Saturday of opening weekend for sure. I am hoping we can swing a second weekend sometime during the season, but it is all dependent on schedule and finances.
I look forward to seeing all of you who will be out there for opening!
~Tink~
That's great, Tink! Look forward to seeing you again!
I'll be there both days opening weekend. I just booked my hotel this morning! :D

Yeah, closing cannon gets a little tough when its over 90 degress.
Not sure yet when I can make Scarby. Probably not opening- but sometime in April! Keeping fingers crossed for rides!
The only definite weekends for me at this point is Opening Saturday and then Pirate Weekend Saturday (to celebrate my first weekend at faire with full legality, AND on the best weekend of course!!)
The rest will be on a case by case basis. Can't wait!
Will be there the w/e of Celtic Music Festival, with my entourage in tow.
FoF purchased and room booked at Ye Olde Super 8! ;D
Initial plans are for me to be there as much as I can for as long as I can whenever I can. Cannon2cannon, double day weekends. plus the final all out weekend.
I expect that we'll make it out at least one weekend (likely a Saturday or Saturdays). Just don't know when yet. The kids have grown so fast this year, I have to start checking to make sure thay have wearable garb. :D
I have ONE and only ONE shot at this faire, opening weekend. Unless there is gonna be continuous, pounding all day rain, I'll be there. Even with all the rain, I'll probably still show up, but won't see anything as my glasses will be all smeary. Unless something major happens like car breakdown or such.. that might stop me.
Every day!......now....the task is for you to be able to find me!.....which won't be very hard in my pretty dress :D
And I look forward to Dance Class So MUCH !!!!!!

I'm a musician. I never learned to dance. I hope to change that this year. Nim will be thrilled! She loves to dance.
FoF pass and close by....sooooo probably every weekend. (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/Hercules101/Smileys/rolleye11.gif)
If there are any wenches with low standards, lower moral values who like to drink beer and dance nekkid you are more then welcome to bunk with me. (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/Hercules101/Smileys/9.gif)
We got notification the other Flamingo Brother is planning to be in town in May. I'm trying to talk him into going to Scarby with the PP and I. That way you can see what trouble TWO Pink trouble makers can make.
So...is it a good thing that I won't be there, Stitch?
Let's say if you were to be there you would have a lot of fun. Then again you might want to leave bail money with your prettier half if you did come. So is it a good thing or a bad thing is up to you. ;D
Seriously, He is a great guy who hasn't been to a Ren faire in almost 2 years, and I plan to have fun with my two pink clad boys waiting hand and foot on me.
I should be out there for opening weekend, the third weekend and closing unless work gets in the way. Then I will be out a fourth, but I am not sure which one yet.
Merlin (the younger)...guess I will miss you opening weekend. Too bad. You know I can turn to the left better than you anyways.... :P
Yeah, the boy is going off to watch the chariot races or some such nonsense...
Lady Stitch, I'm am really beginning to wish I was a Texan, and I never thought I'd ever say that! I think if I could move my job and Nim's to Waxahachie—maybe Waco to be closer to Sherwood Forest—, we'd move. Up here, we pretty much stay to ourselves outside of work anymore. Most of it is the hours we work, I think.
Texas is extremely lucky to have so many good faires. It shall henceforth be known as the Renaissance Festival Capital of the World! 8)
The Lovely Lady Trinn and I will be out opening, closing and somewhere inbetween at least once (depends on the random weekend she ends up having off)
Hotel booked, FoF bought and ready to travel
*Rum bought too, but that's more of a normal grocery shopping kinda thing"
Teach, I didn't take the opportunity to meet you at Sherwood amidst all the excitement. Nim and I hope to make your acquaintance at Scarby opening... Curious, though...is your favourite card game Gin Rummy, perchance?
I didn't get to meet a lot of folks that weekend. I was kinda under the weather and spent part of the day in the tent.
*Gin rummy actually is one of my favorite cards games lol*
Planning on coming with Var on the 3rd weekend of Scarby. Other than that- day trips when I can get a ride!
See you all then!
Are there fewer Scarby people on the forum?
Am I the only one who is excited about opening day?
Not sure when I'll be out. I'll probably be deciding on a daily basis. Though I may be helping a friend out in their booth, still waiting to hear if they need me or not.

Does the fact I have been listening to my "rennie" station on Pandora, as well as looking at all of LY's pictures, and have been itching to get to open the garb closet say anything? ;D

I'm about to wet my drawers from jumping up and down and running in circles trying to make sure I know what, when, how, where, why, who....
So I guess you
are the only one that's excited, Doña Catalina. I thought I heard Don Juan snoring.

It's actually more of a misnomer, but that
is what it is called. It would be an oxymoron if it was a seemingly conflicting phrase, but beer is defined as a fermented, hence alcoholic, beverage. Consequently, non-alcoholic beer is not only a misnomer, but a damnable lie. ;D Thanks for bring that up, Gauwyn.

Yeah, Wha? NO Alcohol????? Might as well call it nasty hawaiian punch.
Sir Angus is correct.... either drink...or dont drink. But dont pretend to drink.

Al, it must be hell having to watch those ladies shake like that... Here's hoping I go to hell. ;D
Is somone going to do a roll call for opening weekend?
ROLL CALL! (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=14792.0)
;D
It has been 2 very long years since I have been able to go to Scarby- and while I realize that is a horrible crime, I will be rectifying that this year. On April 18th I turn 30...so- when I was asked if I wanted a party for my birthday, I said...NOooo...I want to spend the weekend prior at Scarby. SO myself and a couple of friends will be there the 2nd weekend celebrating in style!
I have posted on these forums years ago :) And it is nice to come back to them and see so many familiar names (not that I was a heavy poster, just was that crazy family member who stalked everyone and read everyone else's posts :)). I am a bit shy- so if you see me (I will be hanging out with a flaming monk) don't be afraid to come up and say hi....just try to say hi before any birthday spankings are issued!
John and I will be out Highland weekend and Pirate weekend. Looking forward to it...heck I'm looking forward to a weekend NOT on the bike!!!

Yep! I just found out today that I'll be at the Belly Dance Treasures Boothe stage on Sat. April 16th & Sun. May 1st. There's a LOT of drummers in our troupe now, so I have to share, but I'll have at least 2 more days in May ;D

To all of those that are there today- hope you are enjoying the weather and taking lots of pictures...that you will post to wet the appetite of those who have to wait a little longer before we get to partake of the faire's goodness!!

Seconding that!! Can't wait for next weekend!!
So it looks like the random middle weekend the Lovely Lady Trinn and I will attend will be the last weekend of April. Hope to see more people this time.
We will still be there closing weekend.
