What do you like for a pre-cannon beverage? Any favourite recipes for a Bloody Mary? Is there a particularly good champagne for a nice Mimosa?
Mimosa - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :D
Diet Mountain Dew and Coconut Rum
Caffeine to hit the gates with to go along with the rum
*Really, did anyone think my morning beverage wouldn't include rum?*
Never enterde my mind young Teach. Rum goes well anytime of day. ;D
You kill me, Teach.... No, please, I don't mean that literally! I've seen you...you could do it!
Diet Mountain Dew and Coconut Rum sounds like something I might do mid-afternoon... and no, I never thought that you wouldn't be including rum in your morning beverage. :D
Historically it has been mimosas or beer. I'm expanding the morning bar to include coffee based cocktails! Still fussing over the format, though. Yes, it's a girliness sort of fuss, but I can be girly now and again dang it!
Rum and coke or Dr Pepper and as always Loki !!!! :)
I guess I'm boring. Marques de Caceres (http://www.marquesdecaceres.com/) white wine, or Macabeo. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viura) I usually don't do mimosas becausemy thyroid medication forbids citrus juice.
I don't drink in the mornings. I rarely drink at all, really. But my favorite evening tailgate beverage is a good raspberry lambic. Enough sweetness to give me some energy but enough tartness to revitalize, and it is nice and fizzy to clear the faire dust from the throat. Totally yummy!
Other than a tablespoon of Irish Cream in my coffee when I'm at home (I generally drink my coffee black, so it takes very little), the only time that I will drink in the morning is at faire.
I rarely drink in the mornings outside of faire either. There is just something about being there that just kicks my brain into "We are at faire, it's time for a drink!"
*And that drink is generally rum based as well.*
Pretty sure Faire has been the only time I've ever ingested alcohol before 10am...and usually it's a mimosa. However, when I was at MDRF for Rendezvous a couple years ago that didn't exactly end up well later in the day, so I am perpetually cautious about my alcohol intake when I'm at faire now. If I drink anything it's usually later in the day and it's cider. No hard boozies for this lightweight.
All these yummy beverages, and can't partake. Though I think if was a coffe based alcohol, it would certainly entice the PP. ;D
I'm a sucker for Chocolate. One of my friends had this yummy mars bar hot choclate recipe made with half and half, dark choclate, and melted mars bars that she adds extra milk to to cut the sweetness for cold days, Or she has served it over ice on hot days.
(Or she has added baley's to it 'perk' it up as well)
some Loki and a couple of strong beers (is there any other kind?) get the day going (maybe a bit more on the second day :) )
Ahhh. With it is Guinness for breakfast. Really really great.

DITTO!
I seldom drink, period... but Faire is one of the few exceptions. I don't drink much when I'm there, either, but it's fun to go in with a very mild little "glow" in the morning, as long as I have something hearty in my stomach to balance it. It's not at ALL fun to feel queasy and lightheaded because I was too excited to eat first!
I'll be doing mimosas this weekend at our Faire, and possibly belinis, as well. I'll be taking some of the Lairds Fraser and Nasty Mac's peach/mango Loki in with me, also, as well as a drop or two of Pat McGroin's Belgian chocolate/blood orange from last season that I've had stashed away for just this occasion... ;)
Champagne- forget the OJ. Scotch, Ice cubes- and a rusty nail! My favorite drinks!
I had to drink diet scotch at Sherwood! Clan Mac Nothing! Tasted like water! LOL
I must be a lush, because I frequently drink before 10am, at least on my days off. A bit of Irish cream in the coffee or a mimosa is a lovely way to start the day. ;D

What the bloody hell is DIET Scotch?!? :o ::)
And can Irish Cream really be considered drinking if you don't have enough of it to do more than flavor something non-alcoholic? ;)
Ummm... Nim likes a splash of coffee in her Irish Cream...
Aren't you supposed to be lounging by the pool in TX, or something? What on earth are you doing here?!? ::) :D
I'll take a cider at about just any time of day, morning or 'naught.
Nice and crisp, goes well with breakfast! ;)
I'm HERE, Rani! Got online to check on some stuff... The girls are all resting from the trip, despite the fact that I drove and they slept for the 5 hour trip. Meh! Go figure! But, I AM having a Jack & Coke
Ooooh, yes... cider any time!
Well, at least you're relaxing, Merlin! I just got back from paying all my bills, and now I'm pouting because I can't afford to finish filling the tank up so we can head that way... :P I think I'd gladly eat ramen for the rest of the month if we could, though! ::) I know Scally would, because it's her favorite! :D
Say hello to the ladies for me!
Rusty Nails worked for me last year... too well, over all. Things were a bit fuzzy after cannon... I'll stick to a few Heinekens. ;) :D
You STILL have some of that Peach Mango, Rani? It surprised us that people were downing that faster than any of the others. Wait till this year... Snickerdoodle, Banana Pudding, Death By Chocolate, Peppermint Patty and one yet to be named.... ;D ;)
*of course, all of the above are open for modification*
Well, I don't sit around drinking by myself much, and you DID give me a WHOLE BOTTLE!!! ::) I enjoy drinking a bit at Faire, and maybe every great once-in-a-while I'll have a cider here at home, but I don't go out to drink because they haven't made the bars here non-smoking yet... :P
I'm sure I'd probably drink more if I had more rennies around, though! :D
And what happened to the Almond Joy you're supposed to be making for me this year?!?
Uhhh... Snickerdoodle? Go ahead and reserve a bottle of that for me, please... and maybe the Death by Chocolate, as well. (drool) You would have to include Peppermint Patty... Scally's favorite candy is York, and once she hears the name of that one... she probably won't even care that it has booze in it! LOL
Mimosa sans the OJ, t' prepare fer th' pagne tha be 'bout ter occur, right after cannon....... Hamsters B'ware!
That sounds good, MrHyde, but what do you have for your second drink?

It's a deal. ;D

cider or Scotch depends of the temp.
