Title: Brain Surgery
Post by: CaraGreenleaf on April 04, 2011, 01:45:40 PM
Please keep our Best Man in your prayers for the next week or so. He just underwent brain surgery for a tumor on the back side of his left temple. He's already been so blessed; he was originally given 2 months and no hope for surgery...over a year ago. But please keep in your thoughts and prayers that he will keep his sight and hearing after the procedure today. Thank you

I'm praying for him now, Cara, and will be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers from now on.  How wonderful that he has the possibility of life after such a difficult diagnosis...  Sending as much healing energy as I can muster!

A quick update!
He made it through surgery well...nearly 3/4 of the tumor was removed and the doctors placed a chemo patch on the remainder of the tumor. When we left the hospital, he was being moved to a private room and was still unconscious from the anesthesia. His wife is there and has agreed to call us as soon as she knows something. At this point, please keep him in your prayers that he can still see and hear when he wakes up.

Thank you again!

Prayers to your friend, his family and to you as well. To try to brighten your day let me tell you this. Over two years ago a co worker was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. It was so bad they could not operate. It was around her optic nerves (Yes both of them.) and was pushing into her sinus cavity. She underwent radiation and chemo and they shrunk the tumor enough that they were able to go in and remove it. It was November of 2008 when they discovered it and she is still living today and living a full life. Pass this along to your friend and his wife. It is beatable.

Latest condition:
As of 9.30 last night, he was awake, alert, talking, could both see and hear, was insisting on Biscuits'n'Gravy for breakfast and wanted his lady to come snuggle! We're going to visit him this afternoon and hang out with him for a while!
:D :D

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts!

That's wonderful, Cara! I'm just getting caught up on the site after our trip to Scarborough over the weekend. I'll generate some good energy for him anyway. The biscuits and gravy should fix him right up, by the way.
