Ok, so who will be with me listening to David Arkenstone?
Looking like it would be perfect weather for Pirate Invasion too! Don't you know next weekend when it IS Pirate Invasion it will be about 110? ::)
Celts are in more than just Scotland. They are Irish and some are even Spanish living in the hills of Spain near Northern Portugal I believe. The Celts from what I have read originated in the Stepps of Asia and sweapt across Europe and actually sacked Rome once or twice too. Correct me if I am wrong it has been a while since I did the research. ;D
I think you're right, Angus. I read that my people in Prussia were actually at least part Celtic. Apparently We were Celtic before you were...who-da-thunk?
We been late to the party before but we be a hard lot tae run off. lol
No PP and I this weekend. The show I opened right before scarby, closes this weekend, AND we need to get stuff for the show that is opening NEXT weekend. We are just going to be so worn down come Sunday that we are not going to want to move.
The PP is determined to wear his new doublet for Pirate weekend. Especially since it will be our 10th wedding aniversary weekend. ;D
have fun this weekend all :)
Congratulations Lady Stitch for 10 years of wedded bliss. If you would like to do a handfasting as a way to renew vows we will of course give you the friends and family discount. ;D I am so looking forward to this weekend, the weather should be perfect.
I've always wanted to go to Scarby on my birthday (May 14). I'll defnintely have to shoot for that next year :)
The seven Celtic nations are Alba/Scotland, Breizh/Brittany, Cymru/Wales, Eire/Ireland, Galicia/Spain, Kernow/Cornwall, and Mannin/Isle of Man.

A lot of people don't realize that the northern Spanish are mostly red-haired and blue-eyed.
But my comment was meant jokingly about the fact that Scarborough seperates the Scots and the Celts into two different weekends.
Congratulations on the anniversary, LadyStitch and happy birthday Meavan!
I never miss a change to pass information on the celts. There is also a lot of Celt's in Northern Italy there was big colony there during the early Roman period

SHUSH, woman!!! I will be celebrating my 21st birthday on Pirate Invasion Saturday. 110 is NOT on my list of birthday wishes. :-P
It's looking like Gretchen and I will be down tomorrow for the Celtic Music Festival. We'll be getting a late start though so no morning tail-gating for us, and probably no Meet n' Greet. Like usual, I'll catch who I catch on the other side of the gate. ;-)

A temp of 110 (or even above 90) is not on my list of birthday wishes for you either!
Huzzah! for being able to come out today! Hopefully we'll get to see you :)

I second ^^that^^ :o
I'm going to have to come back tomorrow and take in another show ;)
Spain also has a rich piping culture in which they play the galician gaita, a Spanish bagpipe. Here's a funny video I found of a fella playing a tune that was originally written for the Highland pipes played on his gaita:

;D ;D
What an unbelievable weekend!
I'm not sure we passed 70 since my hands were getting chilly again at 3:00pm. Loved David Arkenstone, and since the weather was so fabulous we got to see more shows than we had originally thought we would.
(Ironically, Trives is in Galicia)

So, the King can't request a bit of flexibility in the schedule every once in a while?
Arkenstone was great! We would have bought a CD but they had ran out on Sunday. He said he'd be back next year...here's hoping!
