Knowledge of new vendors:  Alas, no.

We won't be there until RenDezvous, but I can promise you that we are champing at the bit. It will be the first trip to Colorado for either of us since the late 60s. We're hoping that the price of gasoline doesn't rise much more—or goes down—to keep our travel-gas bill below $350.  We're very much looking forward to meeting the rest of you—we had the pleasure of Capt Spleen's company this past weekend at The Castle.

I too am so ready for faire!

I don't know about new vendors, however, if it keeps raining as much as it has been, I may be there as a vendor myself selling boats, rafts and paddles for people to use to get around faire!!  I think my flowers are drowning from all of this rain!!  I guess the good side is that there's no wildfire danger now.

Lets hope our Colorado skies empty their clouds of all this rain before opening day this year.

I kinda like the afternoon showers we get at faire. It helps to keep the dust down and cools the day off some.

I will take light showers in the afternoon. But icky cold steady rain/mist does not make for a very fun day or happy people. I am hoping that Mother Nature gets this out of her system by opening day

I think it was in 1998 or 99 it rained everyday the hole month of May. Rivers where very swollen and lots of flooding. Lets hope this is not a repeat as it sure does seem just like last year that it wants to rain nearly every single day. Which is fine as long as come June 1st it stops and only showers for an hour in the afternoon or in the evening.

I have been at faire when it was a light mist all day and it was so nice not to have faire buggers at the end of the day.

I second the part about running off Dog the Bounty Hunter i have not heard nice stories about his visits to faire.

Well soon will be opening weekend and i still don't have my new pirate potato sack pants finished grrrrrrrr

Since i am the official photog for that weekend of the get together and for a small fee i will take any incriminating photos and if i can't between Rani and me we should be able to photoshop any incriminating photos that will keep you out of jail and frame someone else.

Sorry that I have not been able to get on until now...there were two deaths in my family and I have been in Mn for the last week.... :-[ :'(
Anyways...am I missing something who is Dog and exactly what trouble is this person causing.  I have probably seen him, but I am not pulling an image to mind.  And why is this person allowed into fair if they are a troublesome "dog" - trying to think of a better word, but I am a little brain dead today.  8)

And back to the other topic started here....He had the bathrooms SHUT DOWN?!?!  Seriously....wow!  :o

I heard a rumor that there was going to be a new jewelry vendor and hair accessory...Not sure if that is true or not, but it will be fun to hunt for them!!

I think I might get a couple of those sky chairs this year finally, I have only been looking at them for like 10 years now!!  I finally have a place they can go!   ;D

I'm looking forward to looking more carefully in the fiber shop on the way to the joust field.  Since last season, I've picked up two more hobbies, and one involves stabbing wool to create things.

It's needle felting ... and I will probably end up playing with wet felting too.  I don't have any photos up yet, because I just started.  I took a class while at the Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire, Queen's College.  My first creation was a very lopsided owl.

Nimue and I are eagerly awaiting our journey to Larkspurshire. We begin our journey from our fortress in just under 5 weeks, and we are looking forward to seeing some mountains. They have things that they call mountains in Arkansas, but they are little more than minor interruptions in our horizontal vision.

Actually, you can dig for diamonds in any state in the union! You can dig until you are blue in the face... There are diamonds in a couple other states, I believe, but we actually have a public park for it...

Other trivia: We have the longest pedestrian/bicycle bridge in North America that was built for that specific purpose (about 5 miles from my house). It's known as the Big Dam Bridge and it's built over the Murray Lock and Dam (hence its name), and is 4226 feet long, much longer that our tallest "mountain" is high.

...ugh... you can keep the Hogs (Arkansas Razorbacks). I don't want them.

Believe it or not... One of the Largest diamonds ever found in the world was found here in Northern Colorado west of Virgina Dale not far from the Wyoming Border. There is a huge diamond mine there.

Snow... yes the mountains are at 245% of snow pack and MORE expected this weekend. "Grumbles" as Toki and I WHERE to go camping.

And mountains we have 54 14,000+ ft peaks in the state. We go from lowlands of just about 4000 ft to over 14000 in about 200 miles. Even out low lands are higher than most other states high points

I so want to move there, Lady de Laney!  Your lowlands are 1300+ feet higher than our highest point. I was in the Sierras a few years back for Christmas...in the snow...and didn't want to leave. The year before, we were at Mt Washington (NH) for Christmas...some snow, 15°F...hiking...awesome!

Wanna swap?

I'm glad I'm not the only one with snow in the forecast. I have sorta real mountains here - the local mountain that everyone hikes on is only about 5000ft. And I don't think I've seen one much over 10,000 ft. But it's kinda nice to have mountains on all four sides of you....even if it does screw up my sense of direction.  ;D

Not a chance MtE. I am a rare native of Colorado and this is my home. I had an aunt that lived in Arkansas and an ex-in-law that lived as close as you can get to Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma i.e Ft Scott, Kansas) and I HATED it there.

Toki grew up in Corpus Cristi and he would never go there either. I can hike and not worry about chiggers or ticks and I play see for a very long ways. Nope not a chance. But your welcome to move here. We don't have as many huge tornado's and in some area's we have none.

When I lived in Massachusetts it was very difficult to keep a straight face when the locals talked up their highest peak, which is right around 1500 feet. Of course, they also thought that Colorado is a winter wonderland (the entire state) year round, so what do they know.

Yes faire is over  :(
Time to wash and mend the garb and put it away till it's needed again.
Of course even though it's over it is time to start planning new garb for next year.....hmm maybe this pirate might have to go nobel for next year.  :o
