It's nice when you don't have to drive to far after a day at fair, and if you plan on going two days.  ;D

There is also the Holly Rec Area.  That's where we camp every year.

I remember staying once at the Days Inn on Bishop right across the road from the GM plant back in '99. That place is just plain scary. I think I got stuck with a smoking room (I'm a non-smoker) and the whole room reeked on tobacco.

I will post some better places in the M'Crack thread.... The ones that faire posts on there flyers and web site are the ones to use.... the rest are a bit questionable to the best of my knowledge..... flint area is not a wise choice for first timers ....  If I know how many will be using hotels I can go there and see if I cant get better pricing.

There is a newer Holiday Inn Express near to fair that has good pricing and is nice.  Otherwise the hotels listed on MIRF web site are in Aurborn Hills......  and some have shuttle service to and from faire and shopping malls where some excellent resturants are at.  Aurborn Hills is 15 min ride from faire on a straight route from I-75 for those wishing hotels, Holly rec is best choice for campers.

If you click on the link in the first post you will be able to find other lodging in the area!

If anyone has any other suggestion they are welcome!  I just thought it would be nice to give people from out of town to at least have a start of what was available.  :)

For us it's Holly Rec when the weather is warm enough to camp and the Scenic Inn when it's cold!

We have a room that comfortable sleeps 4, comes with 4 faire tickets at the Hampton in Grand Blanc. It is about 10 min from the faire. We stayed there last year and it was luxurious! We had hot breakfast and a huge nice room to eat it in. THe rooms were...pretty darn nice.

The package is one room that sleeps four (2 queens or 1 king for two people) and 4 fair tickets for $124 + tax. We got another room (just a standard) for about $80.00 for our other two guests (since we didn't want to share the room). We used a corporate code of 0560041604.

I suggest if you do or do not have hilton honors, to get a free number. It reduces the rates no matter what by going through hhonors.com. But that corp code saves us 25%, and has for years whether we were in MI or FL.

:D
