Title: Jamesie of Albannach attacked at Glasgow Highland games
Post by: renfairephotog on June 06, 2011, 03:57:43 PM
A Scottish band member in town for the Glasgow Highland Games was stabbed late Sunday night outside his cabin at Barren River Lake State Resort Park.
Albannach drummer Jamesie Johnston, of Glasgow, Scotland, was stabbed twice by James E. Null, 42, of Glasgow, Ky.

Johnston was alert and smiling, but expressing a lot of pain, at T.J. Samson, holding the hand of Aya Thorne, another drummer with Albannach. Thorne said the wound was a terrible sight to see, but Johnston will be OK.

I saw that on their facebook post.
The worst part is that the guy who did it has been a regular hanging out guy with them for years.

Poor Jamesie, he is always so lively and has a smile on his face.
I hope he comes through it well.

They said they won't be cancelling any shows but obviously he won't be joining them for a while.

Jamesie was released from hospital yesterday and, although still in some pain, he is doing fine.  Due to the nature of his injuries, he will need to spend the next few weeks resting and recovering before getting back to the action.
