Has anyone been having stomach problems after eating this weekend?
I made the rounds of the food stalls with my family on saturday, and all of us have been having tummy issues since yesterday.
I would rather not point the finger at faire food (being the fruit of the gods that it is) however, tummy problems amongst 6 adults with one common thread, well, do the math.
We ate:
Steak
Tereyaki Chicken
Turkey legs
Sausage
Corn
Funnel Cakes
those ice-ball thingies on the orange
I havent had any tummy issues, but I heard that there was bug going around the camp grounds on site...
Hm. I didn't eat any of the things you mentioned, but I did eat at Queen's Pantry, and I am doing okay. Yikes though. I hope you all feel better. It could have been that something was a little undercooked.
Toki and I both ate Baron of beefs and some fries with not 1 issue with what we ate
I ate steak, shrimp, clam, and fries and I feel just fine.
steak on a stake and cheesy bread here, and no problems.
I ate a bologna and swiss cheese sandwich at faire that I brought from home. No problems.
;)
True food poisoning can be tricky ... a group of people can eat the same thing and only some individuals will get sick. And it usually occurs within 7-8 hours of eating whatever was bad. If you get sick a lot later ... chances are it's something else.
I'm not a specialist or anything ... I had salmonella last February and had to get tested for them to figure out that much. I never figured out what gave it to me. And I've asked a lot of questions abotu stomach ailments since then.
If your family is not improving, get to a doctor/urgent care and they can usually help ...
Feel better!
My husband and I had turkey legs and sausage. (And strawberry shortcake). No tummy issues here. Now, I've had so many different types of food posioning in my life due to my failure as a cook, so I had no issue when my husband and I both ate at Qdoba last week and he had food posioning - those darn tomatoes. So, with my stomach of steel, I guess I'm not the one to ask. :)

Yeah, but faire food was the only thing we had to eat that day before things got icky, thus why i ask... perhaps just a fluke though... we will see next time ;D ;D
The Teri-chicken is cooked to a temp of 185 before I attempt to burn it on the grill- so I hope it wasn't the chicken... :-[ I had a piece of the chicken and I am fine, but I still want to know if someone becomes ill from it.
Did I miss you Saber? I think I might have been at lunch when you came by...? Stop by again.
On a lighter note- somehow, I still have hair on my arms after working the grill both days. :)
You're always busy when I stop by ...
And congrats on still having your hair ... although that DOES sound wrong somehow.

I would be having tummy issues too if I ate all that in one day. I'm going to blame the turkey legs. They aren't period (because of course everything else is....). It could be the heat and just readjusting to faire. But as Blushing said, it could be any of those things or none of them. Remember that food poisoning lasts less than 24 hours and comes on within 8 hours of eating the item. Also, don't forget different water can cause your stomach to tremble. One of the houses I sit for has exceptionally hard water that always gives me trouble when I go there.

We were pretty busy, but please do stop by before I singe it all off.
