Normally Toki and I would have been there today, but yesterday was very rough for Toki. He had to work out in the hot sun and by 2 he had no more liquid to drink nor anyplace to get any. He was in pretty bad shape when he got home at 7 two hours latter than normal. While we both wish we could have been there today, for his healthy we decided that it was better to stay out of direct sun today and to drink more liquids than normal. By this evening when I took him out for his birthday, he was feeling better but still not 100%.
We are sorry we missed everyone and had a wonderful year at faire. It is always sad to see it end. We hope you all had a wonderful day and we really hope you all stayed cool and filled with plenty of cold drink. We thought often of all of you today when we say temps in Ft Collins say 105. It makes me want to go back up to Cameron pass where we hid out last weekend where it was 72 degree's as we drank beer by Joe Wright and just relaxed.
Have a safe year and we hope to see all of you again soon if not next year.
HUZZAH!
Thanks for letting us know. I was actually a bit worried when you guys didn't show up and I was expecting you to. I'm sorry Toki fells terrible but I'm glad it wasn't a car accident on the way to faire..... Yeah... I jump to thoses conculsions.... Call me a worry wart. That being said. I hope Toke feel 100 % soon!
You both were definitely missed on this final (hot) Saturday. Nonetheless, the Baroness and I wish Toki a speedy recovery and you both a splendid year until we again meet next June.
Hope Toki gets to feeling better. I wondered where you guys were. Glad to hear its not too serious.
Thanks everyone.
Keeping him out of the direct sun and plenty of cold liquid.
Thanks again for the concern of him.
Hope to see you all in the future
I would like to say thanks to everyone for their concern. I feel that I have met the most decent and caring people that I know at Faire and am so grateful to be a small part of people's lives there. I had a very hard time of it Friday. I am a middle-aged man and my boss works me like two 20 year-olds. The severe heat and lack of shade and danger working on top of a very high ladder only compounded the difficulties. I guess that I just hit a wall and couldn't make it down for the last weekend to say goodbye and fare-the-well to everyone I know at faire. I will say it now, though. Thanks, folks, for everything and your excellent company this season. I will miss you all. Farewell and take care.
I have to say- it was a real pleasure meeting you folks this summer! I had seen several of you in the past, but of course, didn't know you. I wanted to make it this weekend myself, but I have several other festivals to get things ready for. I spent my whole weekend sewing and gluing and repairing display equipment... The Colorado Scottish Festival is now less than 2 weeks away, and I still haven't replaced the hanging chain for my candelabra!! Anyways, if any of you happen to make it to either the Colorado Scottish Festival of the Edgewater Celtic Harvest Festival, do please stop into the Renaissance Scots camp, look up the leather shop and come in and say hello to me!
Glad all well -
It makes me very angry to hear you were worked so hard without shade or water, that is very dangerous. I hope you have taken measures to avoid a repeat, feel better!
We missed seeing you both yesterday and were wondering if you were okay, since it was unusual for you not to be there on closing day. Yesterday was quite hot so you were wise to stay home and allow Toki to rest! Hope you get to feeling better and we'll see you next season, as well as on the forum. Cheers!
