That's why I have taken to draping my tent with a tarp. No more leaks and it keeps it warmer in there when it's in the 40s at night.

Stay in the house with the warm comfy wonderful blankies!!

Merlin, ask some of your TX buddies about me camping at TRF in the cold... LOL!

Lessee...the flannel lined gwahzee coat should be finished tonight, fingerless gloves should be finished tomorrow. I'm just sad face that no one is carrying those awesome hooded scarves anymore :(  That would be just perfect.

So what you're saying Nessa, is that I should wear my awesome hooded scarf so I can taunt you with it?

pretty much the same thing.

wear full garb without sweating like crazy, have a light jacket on when its not faire time, laugh maniacally as the fireplace cracks and pops and burns.  scrap ice off car, shake fist at sky for being sooooo gray alll the darn time.  clutch in and out and in, shift to first, clutch out and in and THEN shift to reverse.... i guess my car's transmission doesnt like the cold trying to shift into reverse first wont work, gets stuck. I guess life's lesson is dont begin by putting the stick in rear gear.

ok so a few differences.

im glad its not texas where they have 2 seasons, forest fire and summer.

Here in Minnesnowta, we have 3 seasons: highway/road construction, winter, and pothole repair. It gets kind of confussing because a lot of the time pothole repair becomes road construction. ;D

Note to Nissa: I was out at fest on the opening weekend(we talked about the monopod and camera I was using) and will be returning tomorrow(17th). Just a warning :D

Yeah Western Pennsylvania has the same three seasons. Love how every spring the repair the same potholes with that black tarry gravel crap, and all the new ones, then each winter they plow them out on accident. It's such a cycle that never breaks!!!!!

winter is good for pothole repair, all the snow and ice fills 'em in good.
it's the salt and thaw that kills roads.

We opted out today, as much as both the Earl and I were all set to go. It's hard to have fun when it's rainy, wet, and chilly. The mud adn gunk is not fun at all.

We will be there closing weekend, rain or shine.

I honestly LOVE this cooler weather! It opens up a lot more garb options for me. Cloaks, Great Coats and leather jerkins are in play! I really love being able to wear my cold weather garb a lot more then I do my warm weather garb! Also, light rain/drizzle does not bother me. I have garb for that too. That kind of weather means light crowds! I heard attendance was over 27,000 this past Saturday. Crowds like that sux. Long lines for food and drink, and clogged lanes! In my opinion. I'd rather deal with a little rain/drizzle, then with large crowds. Nothing drives me out of fest early like large crowds and/or hot weather.....

if I were a performer, I could not see how one could like any weather that was hot or humid. Almost any kind of garb seems difficult to wear when over 80F.

*raises hand* I liked hot weather. A nice cool bath of bubbles everywhere was always more pleasant in 80 than in 60 degrees.

Looks like it might go back to the 80's on Sunday. I for one am going to enjoy that heatwave :)

oh i'm sure. i mean, there were a couple weekends in august that seemed rather nasty i guess. for me, i cannot imagine doing faire in that weather. i avoid faire until september most years for that reason, i detest being outdoors when it is above 80.
