Title: Boats
Post by: groomporter on June 19, 2008, 06:43:01 AM
Just thought I'ld share some in process pics of a 16' punt from a 1750s boat plan that a piratical friend is building

It's just part of the fleet of the Great Lakes River Pirates

I took these pictures of a Tall Ship visiting Grand Turk last year.  It was the Indian Navy if I remember correctly.

Indian Navy it is. You can get a good fix in their ensign on the bottom pic.

I took a small sony cybershot camera, put the lens up to the lens of a monocular...that's it!

For the pics that look more like paintings....it was a wave a rain that fell between the ship and shore while shooting the pics.

BTW- great pictures!

Geeze, GP.  I'm so sorry.  I had a comment for you but apparently missed it altogether.

Love the river pirates and the boats that they build.  The pics of the current boat are awesome.

(this was suppose to be BEFORE my pics of the Tall Ship)  D'oh!

They are a historical reenactment group who have researched the real river pirates who sailed on waters in and around the Great Lakes during the 18th and 19th centuries.
