I think one of their questions/answers is technically wrong...when must men register for the draft? It's 18, not between 18-26, unless things have changed in the last few years... anyway, I got 90 of 96.

The ones I got wrong were the #of reps, and the presidents in office during specific times in history...sigh.  Surprised the heck out of me that I remembered the name of the chief Justice.
I don't think many kids in high school would pass this though...

Hoo-Ahh 100%!

The 18-26 draft reg range is because if you are a college student (full time) you are exempted until graduation.  Since the majority of students start right after high school and graduate around age 22 or 23, the gov't can still get yo for 3 or 4 years.
I learned when I was 18 that if you have an enlistment contract and are to leave for basic within a year you aren't required to register.  You can but when Selective Service is notified that your SSN is now in DFAS (the military pay syatem) that registration gets tossed.
Appaterntly someone in the gov't figured out that you can't draft someone who is already in the Army  ;D

You only need to get 58 to pass, but I still think that the average high schooler will have trouble with it.   The sad thing is, the pols are just fine with that.  The less the sheeple know about how government is supposed to run, the better.

Got to question 50 and ADHD kicked in. But I was running 100% until then.

*There were no rum based questions so my interest waned*

94 out of 96.
But one of my hobbies is genealogy and Thomas Jefferson had a lot of help with the Declaration from Tench Coxe and his knowledge of the Declaration of Arbroath.

On 9/11/2001 we converted to a new computer system.  About  February 1 of 2002 I noticed a yellow post it note on the secretary's desk. I asked her about it.  She replied "if a doctor asks for a report before that date I have to look in the old system".  "Heather" I replied "do you have a hard time remembering that date?"

"Well yes" she replied "that's why I put the sticky note there""  >:( >:(!!

Yep - I think way too many kids would be unable to pass that test.  I am mad enough at myself for an 88/96.

(in my defense, all those "civil war" questions - here in the south I have only heard it called the "war of northern aggression"  ::) so I was a bit uncertain)

I had 93 out of 96, and honestly, right after high school, I probably wouldn't have done quite that well, as I absolutely hated history in high school, but after working for a few years, when I went back to school, I had an instructor who flipped the switch and opened up my love for it, which led to choosing it as my major.

But then, I'm also a random trivia sort of person, and I have a lot of it rolling around in my brain that I don't even realize I have until a question is posed, and then somehow, I know the answer.

93 which I'd bet is better score than 90% of elected government officials can get.  of course only got that score for giving the governement approved answer instead of the correct answer.   Since eisenhower served in both WWI and WWII does anyone know if the quize would take either answer?

It will NOT take WWI

I looked it up, and I was correct about SS registration: "You may register as soon as you reach the age of 17 years and 3 months but must register within 30 days of turning 18."  So either the question is worded incorrectly, or the answer is.

The wording of the question about Eisenhower is a trick: "Before he was President, Eisenhower was a general. What war was he in?"  A lame trick, but a trick nonetheless—badly worded at best.

Not sure it was a trick I'm guessing the people that did the test don't know as much as they think they did and didn't know that Eisenhower also served during WWI.  After all to most Americans its Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWII, Vietnam.  There are good reason the Korean war is called the forgotten war and most Americans don't know about the five wars fought before the Revolutionary war in North America, or the half dozen fought in the 1800's of the dozen fought in the 1900's.

had 36 out of 40 before it refused to go any further due to a memory error however one was an oops as i hit next as i realized i had not checked the box i intended and the other one i would contest by ignorance i aint been in school for awhile and my answer was correct at that time. Also i have declared my own independence until 2012 or at such time America once again has a president.

I had a problem with the test loading very slowly on my computer.  It would take forever between questions.  I got about 1/2 way thru before getting frustrated.  But I only missed one question up to that point.

27 Amendments?  I guess I lost count!
