There is an event on this particular weekend (a-hem Merlin) that I think merits a two day celebration.
And after the pysanski that I will be going through up until April 7, I will be more than ready.
Do your weather dances, or whatever, and lets have a party!
As far as I know, we plan to be around for the weekend... ;)
Huh, we will be there that weekend too, imagine the luck ;)
woo hoo!
so all 6 of us will have a great time.
It's not the size of the party that counts.... I'm in a position to know there will be others.... ::) :P
someone who is list fixated needs to do a list of who will be there what weekend. Sort of like they do for TRF. :o
I know a number of people, at least tentatively, scheduled to be there Saturday. Many, I hope, were planning to be there the entire weekend. Things can change. Those who have responded to my messages are (tentative attendees)...the ones in bold are planning to be there the entire weekend:
VIII ;)
Merlin the Elder & Lady Nimue
Doña Catalina & Don Juan de Cordoba
Gauwyn of Bracknell & his Lady Angela
Rani & Scally
Lord Dragon & Lady Gryphon
Lady Kett & Sidekick
Al-Nimer & Cowgrrl
Tink & Pan
Lady Stitch, Pink Pirate, & wee "guest"
Angus MacInnes et al
Lord & Lady Beckgam
Lord & Lady Spicer
Merlin (the young version) & clan
Elo
Archer & his Lady Caroline
Captain Spleen
MacKee, Bonny Pearl, and Wee MacKee
Lys
PinnMcrack
Bob of the Lake
You might also be interested to know that Christoph, son of Merlin the Elder, half-brother to Merlin the Younger (aka, Scott the Scot) will be in attendance, all the way from York (the new one).
If you're on the list above, and you plan to be at Scarby both days, let me know and I'll bold your names, and you can feel as important as the rest of us. (any corrections to names as listed are welcome)
I haven't heard from a few people regarding this weekend, and I still have some invites to send out. Some folks haven't checked their messages in a while! When get new info, I'll post the changes. In addition, there could be a moderate contingent of muggles, some family and friends, mostly from central Arkansas. I don't know if they'll be able to keep up or not!
Realizing that some are wondering about the mysteriousness of this thread, and hoping that I'm not risking any bruised feelings, Nimue & I are celebrating a total of 45 years together, and it will be at Scarby on the 14th of April. You don't know how hard it was to parse a list of close to 200 names down to a number I could afford to feed! Not only that, at over 1060 years old now, sometimes people slip my mind. There's a number of people that it broke my heart to leave off the list, but I've still got my family to invite! So...there you have it.
Why, yes... Scally and I fully intend to be there for that entire weekend... and you will be hard pressed to shake us! ;) We are both thrilled to get to spend a full weekend in the company of the lovely Lady Nimue and yourself, and are equally looking forward to spending time in the lanes with the gracious DonaC and her Don, as well as all of the other illustrious guests on your list, some of whom we know already, and some of whom we will have the pleasure of meeting for the first time!
So PLEASE do that whole BOLD thing with our names!!! ;) :D
Opening weekend is still sketchy, but Lady Gryphon and myself will be there the entire weekend of this event, to be sure.
If I have to crawl there. Crawling home has always been an option, but I rarely crawl TO events....... 8)
We (Ryk and Lady Sherry) will be there both opening and second weekend, all four days!~
Not sure yet if I will be there both days or just one that weekend. It will depend on what else is going on and the state of the house as we are starting a massive purge of All The Things!!! :)
Merlin, it will only be myself and cowgrrl in attendance to your shenanigans. We plan on letting the renlets run wild that day ;)
We will be there sir! With bells on...or not...can never quite commit one way or another! :)
I filed for the Saturday off, and it was approved. :) The Pink Pirate, the Fuzzlet, and I will be there :)

Yay!! A baby to snorgle!! BTW, I work in a preschool & I'm CPR & First Aid trained. Feel free to hand off the little one at any time. ;D
You may have to deck Nimue, Cowgrrl. She's all about wee ones! ;)
I am very much looking forward to this! I can't wait to see everyone and celebrate such a wonderful and special occasion!
Pan will be there all weekend, and I will be there at least on Saturday (I will try to be there on Sunday as well, but that means taking off work the following Monday and missing opening weekend)
Tink... it's just opening weekend... it's not as though Scally and I are going to be there. Not, y'know, like the NEXT weekend!!! ALL weekend... ;D
Pleeeeeaaaaseprettypleaseformeeee!?!?!?!
Part of me is a little surprised over the fuss the wee one would cause but then again, when we brought the fuzzlet into the family gathering everyone went nuts over her. Why should I be surprised when all of the faire-mily goes nuts over her? :)
I am just glad wee one's are allowed to join in the fun.
Nim is going to want to hold her, Stitch...be forewarned! It could be a while before she turns loose of her, too! :D
Other peoples babies are the most awesome thing ever!! You get to play with them, snorgle them & love them and when they get fussy, you get to get rid of them. ;)
Seriously though, babies are life & love & all things good.
I have no doubt that Nimb will get to hold her. Thankfully Fuzzlet has been around people since she was 2 weeks old. With as large of family as we have (and SIL is adding one more in September) we HAD TO get her use to all kinds of people. Frankly she has become lover of attention. I'm sure she will be well loved from our faire-mily.
One word of warning Merlin, Fuzzlet likes fuzzy faces. She even likes to try to take them with her by holding on tight. There is a reason the PP trimmed his beard back.

Having had lots of nephews and nieces, and now their progeny, I am almost used to it. But, I'll stand at a safe distance... ;)
Hmmm... so maybe that hair loss curse won't be needed, after all... ;D lolol
Stitch, can't wait to meet your little cutie!
I wanna' hold the baby!!! *squeeeeeee!*
(I think she might want to steal ze babeee...)
Oh, wait, it's those pesky brownies that do that... never mind. ;D
Oh, Boy! Someone is bringing "brownies?"
I could bring brownies.....but sans icing.
<snigger>
Will they be brownie brownies, or "brownie" brownies?
(You must remember, I lived through the 60s...I don't remember much, but I was there...)
You know me, they might be soaked in cognac, but they won't have any herbal additives.
I'm sure they'll be delicious!
Brownie brownies??? As in... made of brownies??? That might get a bit... crunchy, and I have a feeling they might protest a bit!
You REALLY don't want the Brownies mad at you, Merlin!!! :o
LOL! I can see you're not of my generation... ;) That's okay, though...the bits of leaves tend to get caught in my teeth ::) :o :P
Oh, I know very well how to make "special" brownies... but that's not what you asked for! You asked for BROWNIE brownies... ::) :P :D

my college roommate made some once - they were like sod !! :P
They are rather nasty...but it goes away...
(SHHHHHH! Rani! don't tell! :P )
When I was in high school, a couple of girls decided to sell their "special" desserts at lunch for a few days... Of course all the students knew that the special ingredient was not love, but no one informed the nuns. I assume they figured it out after eating them... LOL
**disclaimer: Despite rumors and assumptions, this particular faery has never partaken in anything of the "special" nature**
How many did the nuns eat? 8)

I heard they ate them every day -nasty habit ;D
LOL you guys are so punny :P
Merlin, I would like to think only one, but who knows?
Notice any nuns chewing nervously on their rosary beads?
The nun's name wasn't Sister Mary Juana, was it?
LOL

Every baby that Don Juan has held was fascinated with his beard and its mostly too short to grab. I am looking forward to holding the fuzzlet myself. My pearls could use a good cleaning. ;)
I suppose you could put my name on the list, in BOLD, since I am sure to be there both days that weekend... and every other weekend...
"Ya walk fifteen miles and whaddaya get,
Achin' tired feet and all soakin' wet,
St. Peter don'tcha call me 'cause I will swear,
I sold my soul to Scarborough Faire!"
Thanx to Jon Drake for the lyrics
Unfortunately I will not be at Scarby this weekend... it's NASCAR weekend in Ft. Worth.
You're breaking your father's heart, boy!
I know... I told the wife unit last night "Man I hope that's not on NASCAR weekend".
The last Scotsman who disappointed me...
