we travel distances
camp in conditions less than modern
bear all kinds of weather
even attend faires that have much lacking
because faire is in our blood
we find our place amidst the music and merriment
we don ourselves in attire from another era
we drink and sing songs
we gather around campfires
we build relationships
we become a community
and sherwood is being built from dreams
and aspirations of rennies

I've not met you RenGypsy, but I think I can say, we love you back! It will be our honour to be there to open your third year!!! If you see a crusty old wizard, please say "hi!"

The feeling is mutual! Just a tiny bit longer until we walk through those gates...
I am incredibly sad that my daughter and I will not be able to share any part of this season with any of you... and will count my Faire experiences as incomplete until we are able to walk through those gates with Fairemily, at last.
I thought we were gonna miss Sherwood again this year, but my hubby asked me last night when it started and when did I want to go! Lets hope the money faerie is kind enough to let us go!!! I am serious need of a faire fix!
rumor has it first weekend is half price. sundays before noon are two for one. neither are bad deals. hope to see ya in this magical forest soon!!!
We have been able to attract more people to come thanks to the special prices on Sherwood's site. All of us are looking forward to it.
RenGypsy, what time does the ticket window open? I'm still debating on whether or not to buy online and skip the lines at the window, or wait until we get there, and save $10.
Merlin, I was about to buy mine online and there's half price tickets listed
Yeah, I know about the half-price. $2/ticket service charge.... I'd rather give the extra money to Sherwood instead of the company doing tickets.
Ooh good point. I think I'll wait then.
Those "service" fees disgust me.
I can't be too hard on Sherwood for it. I understand the need to get some help, but I do think the 25% per ticket fee is excessive (in the case of advance tickets for opening weekend). I'd have little issue with a reasonable fee per order. $20 in fees for a handful of tickets gives me pause...
We got ours on line. Sorry, didn't think of that. But with Gas and Hotels, we're trying to save every penny we can.. We do have two trips to make to Texas this spring. I don't want to miss my other special weekend.
after reading this post, i spoke with george and the fee was immediately reduced to $1.00. hope that makes it easier to digest. thanks for your feed back.
Wow! I'm blown away by that responsiveness, RenGypsy! I, for one, so much prefer having tickets in hand prior to arriving! I have purchased 10 tickets for this weekend! See you there!
