So, who's going? Haven't made our RSVP yet and aren't sure what we're doing. Work has been horribly hectic for both Sidekick and me, and this is supposed to be our slow season!
RSVPs due by 3/26 so I thought I'd see who was going to make it!
Don Juan RSVP'd for both of us; but he'll probably be going solo.
I am supposed to work that weekend.
We are going to skip it this year because we'll be driving down the following two weekends.
Me and Lady Marion shall be there..................Huzzah
I am hoping to be there, providing I have permission to do my annual photo shoot at Costume Parade. Otherwise, I will see folks on Opening Weekend.
Most likely not.... I'm an elected official and it's campaign season.... bleh
Got a FoF pass and it maybe too early in the morning for me to find the specifics on this event. I know it's April 1st but what time of day and where? Menu? Anyone been before and can lend some insight before I make the hour drive?
They change the menu each year...don't know if they've posted this year's selection. If you call the office for RSVP, they might tell you.
The event itself runs from 1pm to 6pm, and dinner is at 4pm. They will have a pub open for your ale needs. Although we aren't coming down this year (for us, it's a 5-hour drive each way), we have come the past 3 years. It's a bit of a different experience with the village being nearly empty. We enjoy it, but I am over 1000 years old, living life in the slow lane...
You should go at least once. You get to meet new people!
And typically in years past....not unusually.... we had a few drinks in the parking lot waiting for the practice run on the gate show.
:( Have fun ya'll, first time I've missed this since I started going to faire.
I already call. I will be there.
You will find me at (or on) the Ivanhoe Stage during the preview event, as we have our on-site dress rehearsal that day.
My wife (cowgrrl) & kids might come out that day.

Don Juan de Cordoba is my husband. And unfortunately for preview weekend, I will have to work.
Sorry to hear that you will not be there. I am afraid I am the one who needs to be "herd around". :-\
Good news, well depending on your point of view, our software change over is going poorly.
That means our go-live date has been pushed out so that I won't have to work April 1. So I can go to preview!
Yay. Look for my little blue smart car in the parking lot. We'll be having lunch and some drinks 11:30 ish- noonish.

I would love too. See you there.
I RSVP'd today - we will be there too!
Look forward to seeing you all in the parking lot. Oh and in fair too.
Dang! Wish we didn't have to skip it this year!
Just checking here is this the preview weekend or another event?
Amy and I will be there next Sunday.
Jim
This is the Preview FoF event on April 1... I'm sure that some hell will break loose that day, beginning in the parking area beforehand. The party really starts the following weekend when The Wizard arrives, and that's when all hell will break loose. Unfortunately, you'll find that "all hell" for a centuries-old wizard versus "all hell" for all you young folk are vastly different. When I kick up my heels, it's usually due to a nervous twitch.
Ive decided to come with the Ren-teens. Opening day we are going to have a lot of family with us & I want time to explore the area that has been rebuilt & chat with some of y'all since I probably won't get to on Opening Day.
Guess I need to RSVP.
Hey does anyone know someone who would want to buy a Hair fall? I need to get up then money to get my FOF Pass. I was going to have a workers pass but I just found out that now my boss can't get me one. I had the money but I was told I did not need to buy a pass so we spent it on stuff we really needed for the baby . Plz Any help would be great. I make pony tails and pig tails. Or if anyone knows someone I could walk Parade for a pass?
Everyone be sure and stop by the Ivanhoe stage next Sunday to say "Hi" and watch the belly dance show!
Got confirmation yesterday that I have permission to photograph Costume Parade that day, so I will be there. Don't look for the photos til after Opening Day, though as the Cast Director prefers that photos not be posted til people can debut their outfits to the world in general (and I TOTALLY agree, btw!). But that's okay, as I doubt I'll get them all processed before then anyway. I just discovered recently that I still have photos from Memorial Day last year that I haven't finished! D'oh!
So, short version (TOO LATE! *snerk*) is that I will see folks there. Just look for the short, fat woman with a camera around her neck and her ballcap turned around so that she can see through the viewfinder. ;)
Looks Like I will Have a FOF Pass this year anyways so keep a look out for Master Dorian and Yes The Lady KAT!
Somebody snuck me a partial photo. I can't wait to see the new construction. squeeeee!

Got to see it last Sunday and it was coming along rather nicely! Can't wait to see it fully completed (which may actually be opening day.)
Also, this is a reminder to everyone that the Wings of Isis & Star Dancers (and Drummers!) will be rehearsing on the Ivanhoe stage Sunday afternoon, probably until 5 or 5:30. It's a 30-minute show, and we'll be running it back-to-back, trading people in and out each time.

Oh, a Pop Tart, eh? :P
Merlin....
DO conjure me up a new keyboard, there's a good man...
Lady Kett, I am so bloody well on pins and needles in anticipation of this year at Scarborough, you cannot imagine. When I get excited, there is absolutely no telling what smart-arsed remark will come forth from this age-challenged wizard.
Teague, you must learn to control yourself, but if you need a keyboard, I still have my old Yamaha DX-7, I don't use it anymore, and it's in excellent shape.
SQUEE. That is all. See y'all soon!
Hoist one for me this afternoon, Lady Kett, since we cannot be there with you today.
Running late...leaving now...someone save me a beer. Oh never mind...I'll have my food-eater drive and I'll drink on the way.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Hoist one for me too!
I would imagine that they're hoisting to beat hell about now... I know that rotten kid of mine surely is... :P

You never know with him. Incredibly unpredictable AND magical makes for a troublesome combination....
It was warm. But It was fun.
Did I say it was warm?
We really need to nudge that cool front we're supposed to get in the next day or so.
Pictures are up on my facebook.

And my little car certainly gathered his share of attention. LOL.
Dona ... Love that thing ! I bet you have it packed tightly for next week.
LOL...no, we'll be coming in the old saturn that has a trunk and a back seat and still be packed.
Did anyone else see the blue fairy yesterday? She kept moving fast enough that I couldn't cath her to ask but she looked an awful lot like jewel / sapphire glade from our boards. And from MNRF. (i think - time, distance and tonight's wine selection have left me a bit fogged as to which faire).
never saw her

Nope, Jewel / Sapphire Glade is at home in MN. She travels doing some sort of Government Inspections, and was preparing last weekend for travel this week.
Got a few on my FB page here:

Paul caught a couple of shots of a blue fairy...
merlin, mind of i use one of your shots of me on my facebook? will totally plug you too.
I don't suppose that any of you who stuck around til the SAPA folks changed and came down to eat noticed the shirts for this year? Plenty of symbols on it...The Phoenix (rising from the ashes of the fire) which is holding a pickle in one of its claws. Also the cast badges are "pickle green" this year AND there were two versions of the FoF pins available. One has a green border in memory of Will and the other has a blue border in memory of Tyna.
Just thought I would mention it, so that folks know that we remember our own.
Before I even read "Will" and "Tyna," I knew where it was going. That's really awesome.

Yep! I LOVE the T-shirts and cast badge this year!
That makes me even more sad that I couldn't afford to get FoF badge, if only for the pin so I can have it for Tyna... :'(

If it is the young lady I think, she's the younger sister of one of our Playtrons. She'll be out again off and on during the season.

They typically sell the previous years' FoF pins in the gift shoppes, you'll just have to wait a year...
