I'm willing to bet other people have hats on their wish lists too.
Lady Kett?

I've gotten an interest because of something Alerick got from Lady Kathleen, and might be interested in a pillbox-type wizard hat... kinda like Gandolf meets Jackie Kennedy.

Duly noted!  What weekends will you be visiting, Merlin?

We will be visiting opening weekend, we'll be having a party there second weekend (our renewal!), and will be returning for closing weekend. We've love to come even more, but being from the Little Rock area, daytripping isn't an option...  ;)

I don't know what I'm really looking for exactly, Bookwench, but wouldn't be opposed to discussing options with you. I apologize for not remembering which shoppe you're in, but I promise if you'll tell me without be angry with me, I'll come by to see you!

How could I be angry with you? :)  I'm up in the guest vendor row, in the first Guild Hall shop.  I'll be there 5th, 6th, and final weekend.  Can't wait to finally meet you!

Our dear Bookwench is being rather mellow about it here, but believe me, there is much excitement as this is going to be the FIRST year that Dreamhats will have a booth presence at Scarby!  And she has worked very hard and earned it, believe me!  She's had a solid presence out there for the past several years as many of the performing company get their headgear from this talented and skilled Lady, but now THERE WILL BE BOOTH!!!!!  YAYAYAYAYAYAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

I have to wait until final weekend?!? Dang! Ah, well...good things come to those who wait...

One thing concerns me...you're excited that you're finally going to meet me?!?!? (Lys, just how much does the Bookwench drink?)  :P ::)

Asking if this is along your lines.  Amy is finishing a new dress that is white with black trim and a purple underskirt.  She is looking for what she calls a hunters hat.  Kind of like a tall hat but maybe not so tall  ;D

Thanks,
Jim

I haven't been juried in to sell that style of hat this year (they were very specific about what styles I could sell), but I have lots of plans for next year!

I like this style for early Italian. Though the one in the photo looks too small for the woman's head.

of course, I like this one equally well though I would probably wear it more towards the front.

Dona, those are both beautiful!  You're all giving me wonderful ideas for future hats :D

Merlin, so...what size hat do you wear, anyway?

Oh dear I am in for it now!  Closing weekend you say Bookwench?.... just happens to be the weekend we will be there as well.  Merlin, I'll tag along with y'all on this adventure!  I am sure Lady Kett will want to as well. :)

I don't know, Bookwench. One of my brothers called me a knucklehead... Is "knuckle" a valid measurement? I tried using a yardstick, but that didn't work very well.  I'll just have to stop by and see your booth.

I can't believe its last weekend already! Thanks, everyone, for coming out and saying hi :)  Sales were good enough that we're now looking at a more permanent home at the faire.  And come next year, we'll be juried in for a lot more styles than the few we had this year!

I like hats ... I more than like hats ... I must check out your wares!  ;D

Edited ... I put "live" instead of "like" but maybe that was a good kind of error!

Exactly where is the guest vendor row? Is that at the very top next to the souvenir shop? Well, I'll find you...

Yes Merlin, I'm right next to the souvenir shop on that first row.  Its great finally getting to meet forum folks face to face. :)

Also, if any of you guys have any suggestions, comments or critiques for me, I'd love to hear them.  As I said before, this year my selection was limited for a number of reasons.  Next year I'll have the opportunity to carry a much bigger variety, so please - anything you'd love to see?  Never want to see again?

I want this hat! The fact that is not renaissance does not deter me in the slightest.  ;)

The hat is yours, if I can have what is left there... OW!... Sorry, dear!

I met the lovely Bookwench today, and her spouse, though with my poor hearing and memory to match, I missed or lost the name.  Lovely wares!

Lady Kett, that is a fabulous movie for hats!  I love every one of them.

Merlin, it was wonderful to meet you and the lovely Nimue.  Had it not been for chess match, my husband would have loved to have stayed and chatted with you more. :)

I heard the name Dreamhats several times this weekend, so I stopped by yesterday for a brief bit to chat.  (I'm sure you don't remember me though as you seem many people in a weekend) But I liked your wares, and got a card from you...  So now, I need to commission you to make this one for me:

I don't really wish it to come down in the back as far as this one:
http://www.rameset.com/images/Tudor-Elizabethan%20Scholars%20cap.jpg (http://www.rameset.com/images/Tudor-Elizabethan%20Scholars%20cap.jpg)
Maybe more like this one:
http://www.osfcostumerentals.org/stock/Ecclesiastical%20&%20Scholarly/Scholarly%20Robes%20and%20Hats/slides/11001812%20Scholar%20Hat%20black%20velvet%20H23.25.html (http://www.osfcostumerentals.org/stock/Ecclesiastical%20&%20Scholarly/Scholarly%20Robes%20and%20Hats/slides/11001812%20Scholar%20Hat%20black%20velvet%20H23.25.html)

Essentially it is a Tudor/Elizabethan England Scholar's hat.
