The weathers changing and we have just a few more months before faire! I don't know about everyone else, but I super excited! Time to start getting stuff ready...
Aye, Lad! The Baroness and I share your excitement. In spades!
Although nothing is certain, we have reason to believe that we will be invited to return as members of His Majesty's Court this season, perhaps as different characters. We shall see.
Come what may, we plan to be there every day that the gates open to the Magic Kingdom, either as cast or playtron, and look very much forward to the "fairmily" reunion.
We very much plan on returning to your shire someday, Baron. It shant be this cycle, but we had such a splendid time July last that we should like to come again, but a bit earlier in the season.
Dad is correct.... we really enjoyed your faire last year... what a beautiful place. Pretty sure we will return one day.
We're delighted to hear it from both of you Wizards! The sooner the better!
In the interim, we plan to see you both in Carolina.

Baron, you're repeating yourself...

...or is there an echo in here?? ;D
Yes, looking forward to the Carolina trip very much.
With any luck this season I'll be able to make it down the mountain 2 or 3 times. Will be odd to not have my weekends consumed with Festival...
Le Sigh. I have had faire fever for months, wasn't able to make a single one last year.

My little guy has been confused all winter. I tell him that its festival time when the snow melts and well we didnt have hardly any snow so that changed to when you are out of school, Christmas break he was all " Its Festival time momma!" No honey not yet.. Now he is just foaming at the mouth, he is telling anyone that he can that it's getting closer.

That's why I don't kiss pirates, unless they're beautiful and female. Preferable drinking scotch not rum.
I think we're all a little more itchy for faire because the weather has been so mild.
I might have to start wearing my faire boots to work ...
My house looks like a flower explosion right now... only more to come as festival gets closer.
So, goode friends, in a mere 60 days the gates of Larkspurshire will once again swing open! Which brings to mind the perennial question: What are YOU looking MOST forward to on opening day this season??

Just the start of another season. We have planned nothing for the summer planning to be at faire every weekend. Hoo Rah! Of course the mundane life has a way of intruding. But that's the plan for now.
Very glad to hear the cat show is coming back.

I have an audition for a street cast character this morning at 9. Here it is, almost 2 in the morning! pre-audition gitters are no fun! :(
Best of luck!
Thank you! It helped. They changed my "roll" before I got to my audition. I say "roll" (role) because I am now to be a baker of the street cast! Time to start hunting for bread props! I am glad I didn't have to pain people with some bad fish jokes I had "lined" up.
I wasn't expecting at all to be contacted this year. It is a great privilege for this opportunity to try and become apart of the street cast. Something that is also very humbling as I get to see how the veterans have done it for so long. I certainly hope I do not disappoint!
And finally for those whom I got to meet finally, I apologize for my muteness! I was fighting off sleep and basking in the overwhelming nature of what I've stepped into! Also thank you for all of the great ideas! I will be making good use of them!
I am volunteering to help with the big cat show on saturdays so you will bet to see me alot this year.

So I recieved a call not but a few minutes ago and was presented with another casting change. And I respectfully declined.
So I will not be joining those of you on cast this year, as a member. Instead I shall continue to support your payroll by attending as a playtron. I hope you all have a great season.
The Baroness and I are sorry it didn't work out, Lad. Nonetheless, we'll look forward to seeing you in the lanes.
My good Baron and Baroness, Are Thee going to be cast or will thee be there to play this year?

We were saving this announcement, but you have forced our hand, LD. Subject to change, of course, the Baroness and I WILL be returning to the cast this season -- but NOT as the Baron and Baroness. We will be playing the roles of Thomas and Elizabeth Howard, Duke and Duchess of Norfolk. As such, I will be the Goode Queen Anne's uncle, the Earl of Surrey's father, and Prince Edward's godfather(which was rather a big deal during Tudor times). The Duchess will be Surrey's mother, and godmother to Princess Elizabeth.
We do earnestly and cordially request the assistance of all of our RF friends in making this change a success. We interact with many of you during the Festival day, and if you would work your knowledge of our characters and the relationships noted above into those interactions for the entertainment of the patrons, we would be most grateful. Hint: The proper salutation for a Duke or Duchess is NOT "my lord" or "my lady", it is "your grace".
Thanks to all in advance!
Ooooh you guys are movin' on up!
I will try to remember the proper titles. I hope to see you guys this weekend, we are going to be working on getting the shop opened up for the season.
Huzzah Baron and Baroness! Er, Your Graces....
Sorry it didn't work out Bahlien....but huzzah to you for sticking to your proverbial guns.
I'm highly considering asking my managers to schedule me off on Saturdays or Sundays (preferably Sundays, Saturdays are quite lucrative days) during faire season so that I can come down as often as I choose. After so many years of being at faire and not exactly enjoying it, I'm looking forward to seeing another side of faire that I know most of you enjoy so much. And so that I can wear all the different arrangements of garb I never got to wear before!
Time permitting, the Baroness/Duchess and I will stop by your shop to say hi this coming weekend, AR. We walked by your shop last weekend and saw no obvious damage.
Fair Zoe, by all means come to the Festival to play for a change. Great fun, I promise. BTW, will you be coming to Santa Fe this year?
Father,
Please send more funds. My accounts are in a dreadful state and while I'm assured that certain investments will be providing income soon, I know you would not wish your son to represent you in a dilapidated state.
Your always respectful son,
Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey
Beloved Son,
Thou knoweth full well that I, your father , do loveth thee, well, like a son. However, when I do contemplate upon the monies that I have yet bestowed upon thee, monies that wouldst surely gratify a prince, how the strength doth depart from my limbs and how mine head doth ache! And yet, and yet, thou canst scarcely utter a word without it departeth your lips bearing some supplication or another. Nor hast thou proffered benefit from the 50 (50!) marks that hath departed mine purse for thine less than a fortnight ago!
Nay, I say, nay! With this latest entreaty thou has crossed the Rubicon. 'Tis time, and passed time, that thou doth learn to live within thy station and means. Divest thyself of thine profligate ways, and thou willst find thyself once again restored to mine favor.
By the hand of thine own father this Saint Simon's day,
Norfolk
And might thee grace's have use for a shy and innocent courtesan? I might be able to get thee information that might help thee further ~Wink, Wink, nod, nod~ For a small fee of silks, furniture, a spacious manor and a few gold coins

Possible, but not likely. The wedding is the first weekend of October, which makes Santa Fe run a little too close for comfort with all we'll no doubt be scrambling to finish. So we'll see, but more than likely not.

My Son,
Methinks thou doth protest too much! Search as I may, I search in vain to find any interest of myne which hath been furthered since the last 50 marks took flight, though I do note that thine doublet hath undergone considerable improvement. Why, a Marquess wouldst find the garment meet!

Father,
Verily those assembled here wouldst from your note begin to believe me a knave, but nothing is further from the truth.
Indeed those particular 50 marks were used to outfit men and equipment for our forthcoming adventure in France this season. Such is an effort fully endorsed and supported by His Majesty. Mine new doublet was simply a gift from the merchants of Horsham who so appreciated your willingness to fund the Kings defense of Boulogne that they wished to show their thanks.
And I canst think of when you might be speaking, when you talk of gambling. I am not in the habit of frequenting such low brow establishments no squandering our hard gained earnings at games of chance.
Please send 70 marks, if you wish me to continue his Majesty's Goode work.

AHHHH, Then I wilts say for the defense of thy self that neither your grace or thee good wizard truly know thee courtigiana onesta. For a word she speaks only when dost feels thee need or when pressed to in such manors dost required. But trust thee my grace and good wizard, dost is as shy as thee Wild Blue tit or in Latin your grace, as it is a more fitting language Parus major. Dost she is as quite as a feather falling upon thee newly fallen snow, or as loud as a raging storm that topples thee highest tower of thy kingdom to the ground below. Thee courtigiana onesta that is so humble to be in escort by his Lord Bloodaxe, the Earl of Basswood, dost chose most often to be seen and speak when spoken to. For thee smile or action speaks more than any spoken word that thou can ever dost speak.
LOL! I'll take your work for it, Luv! :D :-*
Courtigiana Onesta,
Prithee refrain thyself from toppling any towers in His Majesty's kingdom! His Majesty doth wax testy upon such occasions, and when His Majesty doth wax testy no head in the Kingdom may be assured of ending the day attached to it's neck! As thou knowest full well, t'were better by far that thou dost be as a feather falling upon newfallen snow than to ruffle the Royal feather.
By the hand of one who wisheth you long life and goode helth,
Norfolk
~Laughs~ Ah your grace doth take to literal thy word of s woman that only seeks to bring pleasure to thee men of thee court in what ever fashion it is that they request. Dost speak in figurative words, and it is dost most humble apology that this simple being asks of thee for the confusion that I beset upon thee. Tis not my intention, nor ever was to confuse thee or even to cause harm to thee good king of the realm and thee buildings placed upon it. What this humble woman was meaning to say your grace was that If she so chose to be heard, it would carry the force of a falling tower. Never your grace would my simple voice cause harm, unless your graces asks her to sing. Then you will be in trouble and dost never wish harm to come to thee. For if harm came to thee, there would be one less noble for any to enjoy, and my duties are only for thee pleasure of thee soul, heart, body, and mind

My warlord coat is black and gold. My bracers, leather head band and belt will be the same black with gold. Bracers are done and they have dragons on it with thier tails twinned into celtic knots. Head band will be a celtic knot that goes most of the way around, belt will also have celtic design on it.
So any thoughts?

But I am happy that I'll be back with Pandora Celtica, so I still get to sing at faire and then spend the rest of the day playing with all you fine cast members, playtrons, and patrons!
I also wanted to put in a plug, if you're interested in getting our next album before anyone else, and some other really cool prizes, get it through our Kickstarter:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pandoraceltica/help-pandora-celtica-create-their-5th-cd-faerie-re?ref=search (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pandoraceltica/help-pandora-celtica-create-their-5th-cd-faerie-re?ref=search)
Thank you for helping to bring this creative project to fruition, we cannot do it without you and your support.
We'll see you all dress rehearsal weekend!
Hugs,
Nelle aka Nessa
Lol Nessa. Look at you, all pluggy and official and stuff :D

;) I try.
By the by, dost thou think we woudst land in trouble were we to glitter bomb the king?

Ummm... Dunno what kind of bomb you use, but in some places, with some of the glitter bombs, you could likely find yourself in some deep...er, non-glitter. Some of these glitter bombs have glass dust in them, and are very hazardous to the eyes, and some will not come out of the garb. If you're not using paper confetti bombs—with non-running ink—you might want to rethink the idea.
For the record, I've never been bombed, but I have read several horror stories about it on this forum. In some states, you can be charged with assault, according to some reports.

You most certainly would, to the tune of replacement cost for the Royal Doublet since glitter simply cannot be removed from velvet.
A word to the wise ...
Aside from the dangers both to eyes & garb, I'm fairly certain His Majesty would not appreciate it, nor find it amusing. There are a great many things he would find amusing, but this is clearly not one of them.
Those oddly dressed fellows in black, with small stars on their chests, and the black handheld devices that allow them to speak with spirits would undoubtedly be summoned. Verily, you would most certainly be accellerated 500 years into the future rather quickly.
Which is why I jest, I would only threaten, never follow through. I adore John too much to spoil his pretty dublet. We fae will have to consider the wisdom of flower petals as an alternative to glitter on fairgrounds instead . . . biodegradable!
And the spirit-device-weilding guards wouldn't have the chance to get to me before the Captain of the King's Guard did - he's fast, and not terribly forgiving . . .
;)

EXCELLENT idea, Nelle!
Indeed, that might be a thing he would find amusing. However, you may not want to take advice from me as to what His Majesty liketh and does not liketh. I, of course, lost everything from the neck up to some poor judgement in that regard in 1547.

Personally, I find him entirely too laid back...As you prepare for your opening, we will be lamenting the final days of our faire at Scarborough. We do seem to be entertaining some of your villagers, though! The sweet and lovely Blushing is helping us close the faire, and Fireflicker has joined us for a couple of days!

I do try, but the old spark just doesn't seem to be there any more. It seems to have been replaced by a new, improved version. :)

Be sure to get there in time to see the gate show -- which will start at about 9:30AM. It is a real stitch, and perfect for this election year!

Me as well! I have a corset from them but since my folks were traveling down that way I told them to pick me up some stuff so I could wear it this season. Very excited. My mom also got herself into one of their Mega dresses, and I can't wait to see it in person. The brocade looks divine in the photos she sent me. Huzzah!

Surrey, my son, surely thou has't words of opprobrium suitable to such sloth.
Father, your Grace,
Being as I have not, in mine recollection, met personally the gentleman who has failed all of us so with his inactivity... it would seem inappropriate for me to speak at any length of his supineness, his profound languidness, nor the depths to which he hath betrayed us all with his indolence.
Nay, I shall let our fine contemporary William S. make the comment, which it is clear that we are all thinking
I rather would entreat thy company
To see the wonders of the world abroad,
Than, living dully sluggardized at home,
Wear out thy youth with shapeless idleness.
It now remains to be seen if this fellow will apply himself to once again return to our good graces. Wouldest thou agree, father?
:'( Damn! I thought this was an English speaking website! :'(
Dear Baron,
I may have failed on part of my royal disquise but this pirate in sheeps wool still has the surprise for the queen set up.
No matter what our plans will go off with a bang.

Pulled out the garb today to air it all out and the cat moved in immediately. He must approve.
